    A small plate.

Tuscanic in Soho offers great cold cuts and cheeses from Italy, among other things. Add a wine and you will have a great time in a friendly atmosphere. When walking around in Soho I came past Tuscanic a few times but never went in. After a busy week on a Friday evening, I finally decided to check it out. Tuscanic is a lovely, down-to-earth restaurant with friendly staff and a very welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. I read through the menu and decided to order a small chartcuterie and cheese plate with a nice white, recommended by my waiter. The small plate is easily big enough for one person and the wine tasted great. I needed a few sips to fully aopreciate it, but then I really enjoyed it. The three different cold cuts were delicious and the two cheeses were a great addition to the meats. The foccacia they served with the small plate was also very good. Tuscanic is definitely a place I will visit again - great staff, friendly atmosphere and excellent food.

I was here for dinner last night with the bf, who's been working out of his company's London office for the past year and has been a regular at Tuscanic for months. He's a huge fan, and he was absolutely right about the excellent food and service. We had the following: - Small selection of bite-size panini and crostini. I think it was the Prosciutto Cotto-Stracchino-Rocket and the Prosciutto Crudo-Caciotta-baked tomatoes, but all the panini and crostini options are worth trying. So good! - Le Bruschette, Red Peppers Spread: Fresh and slightly bitter on a thin, crispy slice of bread. Not my type of flavor profile, but he always orders it. - Le Bruschette, Ragout di Salumi di cinta Senese: Wow, Italian umami-bomb. This was meaty and rich, served on a slightly thicker piece of toast. Will order again. - I Cocci, Olives: Smaller olives than most American charcuterie plates would serve, and the perfect size for nibbling in-between bites. Will order again. - Spezzatino Di Maiale Con Fagioli: This pork stew was just perfect. Rich, porky, the beans just melting in your mouth. It was also just the right serving size for something this hearty. - Caciucco Di Polpo E Cece Nero: He ordered this. It was a bit fishier than expected, but still delicious. Would order again if craving this particular taste. - I Taglieri, Formaggi: The small meat plate, which came with three cured meats. It was the right size for sharing, and the bread it came with was excellent--and I'm not a huge bread eater! Will order again. - Tuscanic Tiramisu: I could easily eat two of these. Fluffy mascarpone cream topped with their chocolate biscotti. Most places I've been to bake their biscotti till it's hard and scrapes the roof of your mouth when you bite into it, but not Tuscanic--just the right amount of give and so good in spoonfuls with the cream. Would order again and again and again. - "Pistocchi" Chocolate Cake: So rich and chocolatey that it definitely had to be split. No words for how smooth the ganache was. Would order again. We also split a bottle of wine and had two digestifs, one off-menu and the other grappa. I was hungry when we came in, so I felt the wine as dinner progressed, but the digestifs surprisingly cleared my head. By the time we left, I had sobered up. This was a slow dinner--no one should rush wine and food this good--so we were there for a couple of hours. The seating is casual, small wooden tables with stools, and the vibe is cozy and relaxed. Service is fantastic, and I had the pleasure of meeting Simone, the owner. I believe most, if not all, of the team is Italian, and they're all very friendly and charming. I'm heartbroken that we won't have a place like this back in the Bay Area, so if you're in London and looking for a casual bite to eat, definitely come here.

Subpar italian offerings. Cheese and charcuterie pretty average. Look elsewhere.

I got a £5 glass of vinho verde and loved it. The set lunch menu changes every day so it's always a little bit of a gamble. I ended up with one that I liked quite a bit. First course was a salt hake salad, which I thought was lovely even though I would say the greens were a bit overdressed. Second course was a hanger steak with beets and horseradish. Absolutely zero complaints on this dish. Steak was cooked to perfection and the horseradish on the side was the perfect complement. Third course was a lemon and almond cake with yoghurt sorbet. Sorbet could have been a bit creamier but the cake was to die for. Portions were perfect. Service was a tad slow. I sat with an empty wine glass for most of my second course. However, service was very nice and pleasant without being pretentious. The vibe on the inside was much more rustic than I was expecting in the most charming way possible. It didn't have the hyper modernism of most NY wine bars. It felt more like a very upscale pub than a cold, sterile wine bar. All in all, added to my very slim "revisit worthy" list.

It's a little unassuming family run restaurant but with serious intent from the kitchen. I was offered a table in the main dining room or the garden when I walked in - as we are in the middle of 'Wimbledon week showers', I chose to dine indoors. The menu was written in impressively authentic sounding terms but closer inspection revealed some fusion going on - lemongrass, tumeric and enoki mushrooms being amongst the ingredients on show. I'm up for a bit of fusion as long as it doesn't end in con-fusion! Having confirmed that I was hungry, the helpful waiter suggested getting 3 dishes. I couldn't help myself and went for the fusion sounding dishes. Panceta con cidra was pork belly, rolled and marinated with garlic, black pepper and dill, braised in Asturian cider. I zoom in pork belly whenever I see it and this version has been slowly cooked to melting tenderness with the dill coming through strongly - it didn't need the wedge of lemon which came with it and I enjoyed it as it arrived. Pollo a la plancha del Parador were a pair of chicken thighs marinated in lemon grass, turmeric, garlic & coriander and cooked on the plancha (grill). I prefer dark meat as it remains moist and the oriental kick wasn't too overwhelming. When the waiter said the Higadillos Salteados (chicken livers with Iberico Jamon, enoki mushrooms, shallots, black pepper and butter) would be served pink inside, I smiled - nice to see a restaurant willing to serve food as it should be cooked and not pander to squeamish guests. These were a delight and to get some Iberico ham from acorn-fed pigs was a bonus. This is tapas of the highest order, given a little twist. A little Yelp gem which deserves its high star rating.

Situated on quite a quiet street, it is well worth taking a visit. With a choice of over 40 tapas, all very well priced and utterly delicious. El Parador specialises in scallops, Halibut, and crab... although they were many others still left to be tried. The interior Decor, to me seemed rather french with little white table clothes and a smart yet gentle ambience. The wine list was impressive to say the least, with over 30 bottles of wine, in the price range of £13-30, with over 15 available by glass. The lunchtime menu has a special offer of 3 tapas for the price of two.
