Nice layout/design but the course is in terrible condition. In a year where north Texas golf courses are thriving from all the rain this one is in rough shape. It needs a lot of TLC. Golf carts are terrible, and one literally caught on fire the day I was at the course. Your body will hurt after riding 18 holes on that terrain in those buggy's. Seems under staffed. I saw only one person out watering the greens and one lady running the pro shop. It was over 100 degrees and they had no ice water out on the course and no ice available for sell in the club house. The lady had the nerve to say the reason they didn't have ice water out in the course was because of Covid-19! I played on a Saturday mid-morning and the course was packed. Pace of play was horrendous. It took 5 1/2 hours because they let groups of 5 and 6 play and tee times were less than 10 minutes apart. The only good news is that I had one of my best rounds of the year. Very short course. Less than 6200 yards from the tips. Likely why I had such a good round lol. read more

The course layout is good but the fairways were in terrible shape. Bare patches, lots of weeds and tall grass. The greens are ok with some patches. It isn't from lack of rain, just not enough attention to the course. Their par 3 signature hole was nice but tee box was hard packed dirt. After reading some bad reviews I was wondering if I should cancel my tee time. There were a few spots that hogs had the ground torn up, but none in the fairways. A few greens needed a little more work, but all in all it was a great experience. Course was in good shape. I would definitely recommend going. read more

Course is in AWFUL condition, especially the greens. Past years I've played the course and I come back only because of the greens. This time around everything was in bad shape. They've let the greens get really bad. Some holes have more dirt on them than grass.Not to mention they are still charging $50. I wouldn't play more than $20 to play this course, in my own opinion especially if you have to drive. read more

After not playing Turtle Hill for over 20 years, I was hugely disappointed by the condition of the course and the lack of even basic maintenance. All sand traps are totally overgrown with grass, no water on tees (hard as a rock) and fairways, while the bent grass greens are way over watered, making the greens and the areas around the greens terribly soggy and sloppy. The greens are in bad shape, yet someone has decided that more water is the cure. Obviously, Turtle Hill does not have professional greens crew management. The cart paths have seen no maintenance for years, some actually dangerous with bumps and cracks. This course has some great holes and great views from up high, but the lack of maintenance is beyond belief and ruined the entire experience. My memories of this course drew me to make a long drive to play it once again, but what was once a great course is now a goat ranch. My compliments to Jim in the pro shop for making the best of a bad situation, as he was courteous and friendly. read more

Awesome layout and beautiful views. Greens looked nice but seemed to be about a 5 or so on a stimpmeter. Fairways were not defined, with exception of the first hole that you can see from FM 373. The other "fairways" were like hitting into short rough, 2-3 inches in some places. Overall an OK experience. Will I play there again? Probably so. Afterall playing golf with friends is usually better than being at work. One last note- the cart paths and the unpaved portions are very rough. Over 5 hours to play, no marshal. read more

Great course. It's in great shape. The course is a true hidden gem in dfw. Truly unique holes and the price is very reasonable. If you want to play something most have never heard of let alone played TH is the place for you. read more

These tee boxes were so hard I couldn't tee up. My tees would just bend. All of the bunkers were tall grass. One of the holes was full of water. Most of the greens had large patches of no grass, just hard packed dirt. The fairways were full of weeds and overgrowth. Even a well hit ball was often hard to see because it would be in a patch of grass. Gas powered golf carts. No drinking water available anywhere on the course. The course did have some fun and interesting holes, but the condition of the course was very subpar. They advertise military discounts and such but when I showed my military ID (before I paid) I was told by the cashier that she already rang it up and I should've told her sooner. I didn't complain or argue and I just paid full price, but I wouldn't have thought canceling the order and applying the discount would have been that big of a deal if that was something they advertised and supported. I would not recommend this course and will pay more and/or drive further in the future. read more

Beautiful golf course. Club house is a joke though... If you need something to eat, or clothing items, good luck... They do have some nice 7-11 style plastic wrapped sandwiches though. All in all, it's worth the trip we made from Denton. Makes you appreciate a nice clubhouse though. read more

The absolute worst experience in my 15 years of golfing. We went for my daughters 24th birthday at her request . She called and made teetimes for party of 8, and reserved carts. When we got there we were told my 18 year old could not drive a cart because I only had a pdf copy of his license. Okay fine, but where is my cart? She told me I'd have to wait they didn't have any right now. We waited 20 minutes after our tee times. Finally got a cart. It didn't really matter that we had a late start because the party in front of us had just started. She proceeded to follow us around the course and harass us. Telling us and other players to hurry up and play through. We are not the problem, you over booked. At hole 16 she tells my 63 year old mother who is playing behind us just to hit us. my mother of course told her they are not your problem, it's the party of 8, 2 holes ahead who you let play together and have been smoking and drinking all day. I have no problem with them having a good time but let's be honest this is a problem that you caused. No need to be hateful to anyone. she also tells the party in front of us to hurry up and go because they close at 7:30. Cart paths are horrible, carts are old and not maintained well and course is in bad shape. My biggest problem is the very rude staff. DO NOT PLAY HERE. read more

The only reason I give this 3 stars is because there was not anything food or apparel-wise to speak of in the pro shop and the distance from Denton was a little far to come regularly. Golf-wise though, we had a GREAT time! The course was in good condition and the greens were super soft and hydrated. The course was challenging and strategic! We had a super golf experience! We will go again and I would recommend it. read more

I played the course in April 2016 and was quickly disappointed. Golf carts are old and mine did not run very well. Clubhouse smells old and is dirty. People were very nice and the price was very cheap. I know why! The fairways were a step above a cow pasture grass,very hard and we struggled to find grass. Tee boxes were not level and had not been repaired recently. The greens looked great,but were extremely slow,my group struggled to get the ball to the hole all day. I traveled from Ft. Worth to play based on reviews. Please understand the course is exactly what the price dictates, do not expect anything great. Please be careful poison oak and poison ivy are very common throughout the course. read more
