A little unsure of this place. It labels itself as a Caribbean restaurant so popular dishes, from the West Indies are served.
Was very busy when we came but having booked a table we were all set and seated promptly. It was mentioned that there was a turn around time (which I hate) but given we were off elsewhere after dinner, we knew we would not be out staying our welcome anyhow.
Normal order of events occur, with the ordering of drinks. They have a large cocktail bar in the middle of the restaurant so, cocktails it was. 241 having to order the same.
Having ordered our food, we duly waited for our drinks and waited and waited. Food arriving after a reasonable time, I, of course, headed straight for my sweet potato fries and what a disappointment. They were tepid and still had a bite to them meaning they were slightly underdone.
The waitress was very good in responding when she asked how the food was. Having been informed, she whisked them away to get fresh ones which were some way better but not hot a crispy as they should be.
My jerk ribs were very spicy but not fall off the bone soft and tender. Again, disappointing.
Oh and back to our drinks. Having waited until post food arrival, we finally received our drinks. Again, having been ask if all was ok, we did let them know and were offered those free due to the wait.
Whist I accept the restaurant was busy, the service was very poor overall which somewhat tarnishes the experience.
Decor is fun and could have a good vibe to it overall if not impacted by poor service. read more
