The ale selection on tap was a little odd - I think 5 pale ales plus one amber ale, in December, with no dark ales at all but the Kernel export stout in bottles was delicious if a tad pricey. Apparently it's often on tap so keep an eye. The Christmas burger was incredibly good - the combination of camembert, cranberries and mustard mayo brought so many surprisingly complementary flavours and fundamentally the meat itself was fantastic. Best burger I've had in a while. I liked how there is a video games corner - a comfy sofa in front of a tv and you can borrow mario kart from the bar! There's also table football and pool and it got very noisy as competitive spirits rose, so caution if you're looking for somewhere really calm, but overall I'd love to come back here and will try to do so as unfortunately it's likely to close due to some horrible luxury micro flat development killing the only thing in the area that would actually service the tastes of the kind of people in the market for a luxury micro flat. Will be a real loss for Croydon if that happens.

It was a very fair price per person. Under £80 for the entire experience for 2 people. Unfortunately I didn't make the reservation myself (relied on family in London to make it) so we didn't get booked for the afternoon tea service as I'd hoped and just had a reserved table instead. Still, I indulged in some scones with cream and strawberry jam, paired with a strong cup of decaf English breakfast tea. The staff is very friendly and took the time to explain the drink and pastry options to us. I hope I get a chance to visit again for the full tea service before the end of my trip!

In short, it's a location where a great number of street food vendors all have a communal seating area. In addition there is a Meatliqour and a Breakfast Club full sized restaurants, but the main part is that communal area. This particular one has several things going for it - it's very spacious with most of the street food places directly facing onto it (there's a couple outside as well). This is a big plus over places like Pop Brixton, where there's nooks and crannies and multiple levels etc (which actually makes me think of Pop as something you'd build as a settlement in Fallout 4). This Box Park is a great deal more refined. The location is very convenient as you can walk straight into it from East Croydon station (take a right at the cashpoints). It's right over the road from the College and because it's at East Croydon station, it's really convenient for the tram system as well.

But that was short lived, and the overall experience was overwhelmingly good (despite of course the loss). I'd recommend Boxpark to any families wanting somewhere to spend events.

Latte Love Britain…read moremay traditionally be a nation of tea drinkers, but this little diva can't even think about getting her day started without a skinny latte making its way into her hand. That devotion to coffee has led me to having way too many loyalty cards and requesting at least two coffee stops during any extended shopping trips - it's the only way any of my 'love to shop' friends can keep me by their sides. Oh and before I forget a latte is essential when listening or trying to remember any morning after the night before stories. My favourite Croydon pitstop is Caffe Nero. Unlike some of the other big chains, Caffe Nero feels less staged in terms of its store layouts and more local cafe in its vibe. The staff are friendly, but focused on making sure you get a great cup of coffee and don't push super hard on any add-on sales, which absolutely I hate. What I do love is their lemon cheesecake - it has a perfect crunchy base, and a cheesecake filling that is just the right side of tangy. I always leave my Caffe refreshed and with a smile on my face.
