Such a cute tea room! So far I've stopped in for a take-away decaf latte and scone and returned with my husband to sit outside and enjoy a pot of tea for each of us paired with a scone (I had plain, he had fruit) with clotted cream and jam. I appreciated that the clotted cream and jam were served on the side so I could add them sparingly (although I think the traditional way to have it is covered with globs of both, and they are both tasty)! The scones, each time I had them, were moist and a bit cakey without being too sweet. If you're wanting to take your scone to-go and you want to control your portion of clotted cream or butter and jam, ask for them to be packaged on the side (when I had initially stopped in for take-away, my scone came with jam spread over it; I had asked to hold the butter, but if I had asked for butter, I assume it would have also been pre-spread on the scone for me). The staff is friendly and welcoming here. Tip: Avoid the lunch crowd and stop in before or after it if all you want is coffee, tea, and/or a snack. I dropped in mid-morning on a Monday to inquire (it wasn't busy at that time) and was advised to come after 2:30 p.m. on a weekday if I wasn't planning to make a reservation and wanted to have an available table in the afternoon. read more
