Tea and snack spread

I was recently in London so of course visiting the Harrods Tea Room was high on my must visit list. The staff were very knowledgeable about the tea offerings and were easily able to help me navigate dietary restrictions when it came to the food. I had the chance to sit outside on their terrace which had a gorgeous view of the city.

We came to Harrods to shop and decided to have a tea and some scones. The waitress was very attentive and the matcha tea and the rose tea was very good. We also decided to have scones and clotted cream and jam. The taste was decent but nothing spectacular. Overall good experience.

It's expensive but it's iconic. It was exactly what we were looking for in a London tea. Impeccable service, delicious food.

Nice selection of teas and a good selection of sandwiches and deserts. The place seems a bit dated and the staff vacuuming around the area during tea didn't help elevate the experience. There was some live music and the service was friendly.

I was in London and had to do afternoon tea. I made a reservation online the day before going. The two room is in the corner of the 4th floor, it was a little hard to find. I got there like 15 minutes before my reservation time and was seated right away. I got the champagne add on and the champagne was so good I bought a bottle to bring home. The food was so good the tea was amazing. I was a but bothered by the price, when I made the reservation it was £10 more than it said online. But it's worth the money. Our server was so kind and as she served us she told us what we were getting.

Spontaneously walked to Harrod's for a browse and afternoon tea. The Tea Room is located on level 4. Advanced reservations have a fixed price menu. Walk ups can have tea ala carte. The scones, clotted cream and Harrod's jam were worth it. Earl Grey hot on the table is divine. Sam our server was delightful while pouring our tea. . A very pleasant and tasty experience. Enjoy.

Not the worst but most definitely not the best place out there for afternoon tea in London considering the price. They have a 65 set menu regular option for no dietary restrictions, and one for specialty dietary needs for the same price. The only thing they give you free refills on are; The tea, the scones, and the ginger sandwiches. But NOT the dessert. One thing that was disappointing was that my server said that he wasn't able to package Togo my little finger sandwiches that I didn't finish; only the dessert and the scones. Considering the high price point, I was disappointed in this. I came around 12 pm on a Wednesday and was able to get a seat right away with no reservations for a table of 1. A con: service is pretty slow and the primary server wasn't super attentive to refills.... But the tea guy was super friendly and informative about the options I'd say there's better afternoon tea options to get the full experience while in london.

The food isn't all that great, there was a dead fly in our food and the tea was extremely bitter, the only thing that we actually enjoyed was the Coronation Chicken, Warm Parmesan Madeleine and the scones, but for a tea place it was probably the worst tea I've ever had. Not a "bad" service but I hope they can improve a lot more. The place is very elegant and clean, comfortable but nothing out of this world. The food was brought to us quickly, there were some issues but were quickly solved. Extremely expensive for what it is, it's totally not worth it.

What I loved: -Ambiance: well lit, spacious, live piano music -Located inside Harrods, which is beautiful itself. Slightly awkward that it's been department stores, so shoppers do walk through here (along the side). -Unique assortment of teas - menu is many pages long. I had a chocolate infused black tea, a rose white tea, and their anniversary blend. My MIL had a classic breakfast and afternoon tea. -The sandwiches, pastries and scones were delightful. Small but scrumptious. -Accommodating: they were the only place in the local area that had last minute (reservations made the day before) availability. What I didn't care for: - Service was mediocre at best. Waiter had to be summoned over, didn't know to check on us on his own. Was not knowledgeable about the teas. Which at a high end place like this is disappointing. -When we made reservations, I indicated on there that this was "for Mother's Day". No one said anything to us about it and nothing special was done or said by them. Disappointing. -This place is pretty pricey compared to the other Afternoon tea places, but I'd say it's worth trying out especially if you're visiting London.

The inside, very spaced out.

Had reservations at 12pm. We walked in a bit earlier and got sat down. We had an amazing server!! His name was David, he constantly checked in on us and made sure we had tea & biscuits. The food was amazing! It was my very first & only time having high tea and one thing I regret not doing more is going to more high tea places! If you're in London for a short amount of time please make sure to make reservations and come here! :) The interior is super spacious and you're far away from people so you can have private conversations! Sandwiches were bomb and the desserts were better! Not super sweet. The bathroom was old school, definitely check it out. They have a table in the middle of the whole bathroom.

Thank you, Harrods Tea Room staff, for the most amazing birthday experience for afternoon tea from the moment I booked a reservation to the end of my meal. The staff was fantastic and patient with my explaining everything. I was nervous being a party of one, and they made me feel so special with dessert birthday wishes. The pianist was absolutely amazing. The ambiance was so amazing. The hostess offered to put my shopping bags and jacket away in the cloak room, for which was a kind jester. I will definitely return on my next visit to London.

Just...WOW! Harrods in general was absolutely amazing! It is HUGE, it is timeless, a must see/do if you are in London. The ladies of our group all went out on this little adventure and made a reservation here. It was good food, great company and a fun experience. Everyone should do it once! Quintessential with London and tea. Servers switched in the middle of service, which I thought was odd so there was a little lag in getting some of our food/tea but still have no complaints. A wide variety of teas, pastries, finger foods, etc. Pianist playing in the background. Very lovely!

I really liked the high tea they served here. The only thing I didn't like is that they would not give us a booth. Other people who came in after us were given a booth. The tea sandwiches were good and so were the little desserts. Service was just okay. We had to ask them to refill our hot water and ice water.

Caution, I emailed my request for reservation twice, they never got it. We had to wait until some other party who had a reservation did not show up for 45 minutes after their appointed time. Worth the wait. Make sure you double check your reservation. There were empty tables, but they do not take walk ins as there is only a certain amount of food prepared depending on reservations. The museum was fun to walk around after tea.

Perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! Served quite warm as well. Pretty alright tea finger sandwiches overall; the cucumber sandwich had a nice lemon zing to it though the smoked salmon sandwich and egg sandwich had bread that was a bit on the stale side. Regarding desserts, the raspberry macaron was very tasty and had a great slight chew to it but the red velvet cake was pretty dry. There were more food items at the tea service but I'm just highlighting the most noteworthy ones. :p For tea I had the jasmine lychee. Satisfyingly bold lychee taste! Recommend if you want something bright-fruity with slight tartness. Service was very polite and all-smiles but could've been more attentive. I'd say I would return here mainly for the tea and the scones!

For about £25pp, you each get a choice of tea, and 3 tiers: sandwiches, scones, and desserts. The warm cheese sandwich and smoked salmon sandwiches were delish. I absolutely LOVE a scone and it was everything I could hope for and more. (I could eat the whole thing of clotted cream!) The owner truly made our tea feel so special. I def recommend checking this place out compared to the bigger dept stores for a more authentic feel.

This review is specifically for the historic one at Kensington Palace, the beautiful baroque building in the palace gardens. I recently had the pleasure of enjoying afternoon tea here, and it was everything I hoped for and more - a perfect blend of elegance, history, and warm hospitality. From the moment we arrived, our host Denis made us feel incredibly welcome. First and foremost, I have to say he has a great first name - it's the same as mine (Dennis/Denis), which gave us an instant connection and a good laugh! He was exceptionally accommodating, giving us plenty of choice over where to sit and checking in on us multiple times throughout the afternoon with genuine friendliness and care. His attention to detail really elevated the whole experience. Our waiter, Mustafa, was nothing short of amazing. He handled our dietary needs with ease - accommodating gluten-free and vegetarian options without any fuss - and even split the afternoon tea accordingly so we could both enjoy it fully. The food itself was lovely, but the standout for me was the tea selection. I tried several varieties: peppermint, masala chai, vanilla chai, and classic English breakfast. The staff were happy to bring different teas or extra hot water whenever we asked, and don't forget to add sugar and milk for that perfect personal touch - it made all the difference. The setting is stunning, with the historic Orangery building and views of the Kensington Palace gardens creating a truly relaxing and regal atmosphere. Every moment felt unhurried and enjoyable; it was the ideal way to spend a peaceful afternoon. Huge thanks to Denis and Mustafa for their outstanding service - they made what could have been a standard tea into something truly memorable. Highly recommend booking ahead (it's popular!), and if you get the chance, ask for these two legends. We'll definitely be back!

We thought The Orangery would be the ideal spot as it sits right by the Kensington Palace. My group made reservations, which are encouraged. When we arrived there were ample seats both inside and outside. The interior is white, simple, clean, and bright. A bit bleak on the eye. We chose to sit outside to get some sun, people watch, and enjoy being by the gardens. All of the staff took great care of us, checked on my dietary restrictions, came by numerous times, and were kind and courteous. Now for the afternoon tea, we got the Afternoon Tea and the Vegan Afternoon Tea. I am dairy free so the vegan one was for me, but I eat certain meats so we did share and sample each other's. To start, the presentation was fine, nothing spectacular. The portions were plentiful as I could only eat the finger sandwiches and half of one scone, I saved the rest. I only expected more but found all of the sandwiches to be pretty neutral. I wish there were more seasoning, filling, and the bread wasn't as dry as it was. The scone was good with the provided preserves. When I did have the sweets they were all good, the fruit ones being my favorite. For tea, I chose the Organic Darjeeling. It came out to about three cups and was light and delicate. We left full! Kensington Palace is iconic in itself. If you want to pretend you're a royal or are visiting the area, The Orangery is an option. Honestly, I wouldn't come for their tea as I thought it was just okay. I would recommend going somewhere else, but I'm glad to check this off my bucket list!

Beautiful interior, impeccable furnitures, good lighting. It was a bit hard to get the server's attention at times, especially near the end but not a huge problem. Unfortunately, I am far more interested in devouring a nicely made scone than staring at a Moschino purse shaped biscuit (which was overly sweet).
