This is quite a big barge and seats about 20 people comfortably, offering a great range of cream teas, sandwiches, breakfasts and drinks. A little quaint, traditional barge tea shop. The cups and saucers are just fabulous and the coffee mugs are varied - all adding to the variety and experience of this wonderful place. The tea is served in leaf form so you have your own strainer, which is really cool! I opted for a full breakfast today which was just right! Unfortunately they had ran out of bacon but I got an extra sausage for that! Locally sourced food which was cooked perfectly from the kitchen you can see at the end of the barge. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, offering their advice and explaining the food options as well. The service was excellent and relaxed. The most important part of finishing the meal is the separation of the bill, especially in a group. However they offered to spilt this and each of us pay separately, this worked great! Overall, this is place is highly recommended for anytime of the day, relaxing on the Thames, in wonderful surroundings, watching the swans swim by.

It's an old railway station and the walls are filled with old vintage railway paraphernalia; everything that accounts for it being "cute" and "quaint". The food is very good. We only got some baguettes and chips so nothing ground breaking (hence the 4 stars) but it certainly hit the spot after wandering around in the fresh air of the forest. I highly recommend the Twice-Cooked Sleeper Chips. They're fantastic! My husband had a cappuccino and he gave it a thumbs up (I don't drink coffee so you'll have to take his word for it). We also got some carrot cake and a piece of Millionaire's Shortbread to-go. We ate them later that afternoon and again: delicious! I suggest going and maybe trying something more interesting than the egg mayo baguette I ordered. While very tasty, they've got loads of other delicious sounding dishes on the menu such as gourmet burgers, free range omelettes and full English breakfasts. My whole family is coming over next year to visit the UK and my husband and I soundly decided that we will be bringing them out to the Station House so they can enjoy a truly English dining experience out in the very picturesque New Forest.

My beady eye spotted the cakes under their glass domes; but my tea had been so substantial I will just have to wait until my next visit to give them a try. I will return because as well as the great food it was value for money. There was friendly service and some nice objects for sale. There were paperbags filled with old fashioned sweeties, lots of handmade crafts and a little glass and wooden case filled with affordable and quirky vintage costume jewellery. You could enjoy your tea and then go shopping for the kind of things you usually have to hunt hard to find! Combine this with the lovely garden to enjoy in the warm weather and the proximity to the riverside walk and Kelmscot and the National Trust's Buscot Park and you could have a great day out. Had some chocolate flavor and tasted good with milk. Hubby ordered Mac and cheese and it was served piping hot with a slice of garlic bread. Pretty good too! Kiddo ordered hot chocolate with marshmallows and a chocolate cake. The cake itself was soft and moist and not overly sweet. Went well with the tea and hot chocolate. The hot chocolate seemed standard and she seemed to like it. The place is not overly pricey for a touristy place. Service was also good and friendly.
