Sokhothai has been in Hornchurch for some years, iwith its early years they operated a byo drinks policy. they have moved on from this and have established themselves as a very successful Thia cusine restaurant. This was my first time here and met up with friend being that it was equidistant from us. Apointment was for 08:30 but we had a 20 minute wait to be seated and then positioned in a cramped area by the window, which left us feeling like we had just squeezed into a childs playhouse, then having to struggle to locate the isolating valve to the rad and shut it off to stop us all suffering from heat stroke. That done and drinks served, we created our own platter from the starter available, This fish cakes, tempurer chicken, spring rolls etc. well I think they must have been using those party packs from Iceland and was half expecting Kerri Catona or Jason Donovan to come leeping out of the kitchen singing and dancing. The bland taste was also in keeping with Iceland's reputation. our Main courses were much more palatable with my Tiger Cry being very enjoyable, the Goong Tord Gra-tiam Prik Thai being specially prepared to suit a mild palate. Staff were very attentative and friendly. If asked if i would eat there again, i'm afraid the answer would be no. read more
