My review is for the buyer side, and specifically home decor. I gosh dang love turn style so much! This has been the third one I've been to, and each one always has something very unique that I like and want to buy. It's always changing so if I wait a few months I can see everything different! And seasoned-themed as well. I for sure want to go to one of the stores to get a couch in the future. I don't know how I'll get it out of the store, however. The store manager here is great but her employees are wildly rude! The lanky guy who looks like a tongue depressor in oversized clothes and the bitter elderly woman (asst mgr?) are nuts. I was called "cheap" for asking a question about a discount!! Turn Style is a fun treasure hunt, but they should look at replacing some of the workers if they care about growth. read more

Clothing Selection wasn't as good as I've seen on previous trips but the Housewares side was packed with anything and everything and we all (4 ladies)found something we didn't know we needed. There was plenty of help on the floor and the laundry basket on shelves allows you to put your finds off to the side and keep browsing. read more

I finally stopped by my neighborhood consignment shop. Initial impression were that it was terribly expensive for the quality. I wasn't overly impressed. It was fun to look through the home decor. The prices seemed better and their was a decent selection. I asked about bringing stuff in and the sales lady explained the consignment process where you don't get paid until your stuff sells. Hard to do when there are options to sell or donate your stuff outright. It still had too much of a garage sale feel with department store prices for me personally. Though the location is convenient I still prefer the prices and selection in Maple Grove, but go see for yourself. Happy hunting! read more

Beautiful furnishings and clothes. Ugly Customer Service. Four Associates walked by me (two in furnishings and two in Clothing). Not once was I greeted, had any eye contact, and certainly no " can I help you with anything". This snooty and rude Customer Service comes down directly from the Managers. Obviously they need training in Customer Service as well as their Staff. If I wanted bad attitude I'd go to a Gas Station and be waited on by a surly teenager. Step up Turnstyle, because in these difficult times, Customer Service should be top priority. I should mention that this is the Roseville location. read more

Went here tonight to consign items. Called store beforehand to make sure I was following their consignment rules (I'm a rule follower) arrived with all my items in tow at 7:40pm only to be told they stopped consigning at 7pm. That's not what their outgoing voicemail says as well as their website, so irritating. They sent me away with all my stuff. Here it is copied and pasted from website. "Consignments are accepted any time we are open" which is until 8pm. Out of date website consignment hours and voicemail makes for poor customer service. No apology, no nothing, pretty irritating. read more

I was so happy to see Turn Style reopen after the recent shut down due to Covid! The store was incredibly well stocked and super organized, and they are being very careful with all social distancing guidelines. Employees can make or break a business, and all of the women working, especially the one who took my consignment (I think her name was Cheyenne, a younger girl with long dark hair) were super friendly, smiling, and seemed very happy to be there. Quality control on the purses and clothes is lacking. If an employee sees something that they wish to purchase, the employee can take the item and purchase it. The employee described it as "a perk of the job." Taking an item that a customer wishes to purchase is NOT a perk of the job, it's bad customer service. read more

I have consigned here before and always been baffled by what they accepted and what they didn't. While they were going through my items I would browse through their store - some things were really good and then there were plenty of random, subpar condition Old Navy items. They would say no to my Banana Republic 1 year old sweater but yes to a 4 year old Old Navy tank top? But still it was convenient so I kept consigning there. Well I decided I was never consigning there again when a few weeks ago they turned down a brand name clutch purse that I had never used. I posted it on Poshmark just because and within one week someone had purchased it for $65. The people in charge of consigning at this location really need to have some expert help from someone who knows what people want...and what they don't. read more

I consign (sell) my gently used clothes that I no longer wear here, and have bought gently used stylish designer clothes and purses in great condition. Thanks to Turnstyles I am always updating my style without breaking the budget. Another poster hae complained about fakes, but the only fake ones are marked as fake, called "faux" brands, and priced appropriately so, so that the people who buy faux, know they are buying faux. They also sell home items here, and I've gotten a few unique pieces in bedroom here. I have always been happy and have had a good experience with the staff here, very pleasant. I'm a fan! read more

Been coming to this location for years! The building is. Little over 10,000 sq ft and has lots to look at between clothing, jewelry items, and a lot of furniture/home items. If you get a chance to meet Carrie, she has an excellent positive attitude and is a pleasure to chat with! I cannot tell people enough of how much more I enjoy coming to these stores - items are cleanly displayed and ready to be found! This is the second time I've come into this Turnstyle location and had a bad experience. The workers are always so rude and couldn't make me feel more unwelcome. She started by saying they're an hour behind in the consigning line and then looked at my bag of clothes judgingly and said they had to be on hangers. It was a bag of high end blue jeans. I am incredibly disappointed in this business. I dropped a laundry basket full of items yesterday and was told to come back at 2:30pm. I have been bringing items here for years with all happy experiences. My 8 year old daughter came off the school bus very sick. I could not leave my house again yesterday to collect my items and neglected to call. As soon as they opened today (10am) I called to let them know what had transpired. I was told my items were donated, including my basket. There are always extenuating circumstances- I am in the field of customer service too- and maybe you could wait a full 24 hours before tossing all my things. Very disappointed customer who will gladly come collect my high end items as soon as they are on the floor. read more

Awful. I don't know why I keep coming back. I must be a sadist! Anyway, I come here to consign my clothes because I am too lazy to sell them on eBay (been there, done that. The time it takes to photograph, write the listing, measure, ship, and deal with cranky buyers just isn't worth it anymore). So I bring them here and I usually get a bad experience. Now, they typically take all of my stuff because I already know what they will and will not take (they refuse any and all Old Navy and Target clothing, even if it is new with tags attached). But the people working here are not up on their designer clothing. Why? They refuse the oddest stuff. Refused: A new with tags skirt from Anthropologie because the teen working there "Had never heard of that brand before." (It was Odille. A common Anthro brand). Refused: A pair of Lululemon crops. Again because the teen did not know what they were. Refused: A pair of worn-once sandals from Anthropolgie. Teen did not know what they were. I asked why this stuff was refused and she said, "We don't take this stuff." I said, "It's from Anthropologie. You have stuff like this in the store." Again, blank stare from the teen. "We don't take that brand." Bullshit. Taken: My Kohls-brand clothing, my INC-brand stuff from Macy's, Gap, and, oh, an Old Navy skirt I tossed in there just to see if they'd take it. They did. You're not going to get your money right away and I'm okay with that. It's always a nice surprise to come back a few months later and have a check waiting for me. If you're looking for quick cash on the spot, this is not the place for that. I don't buy stuff here. Mainly because I can always ALWAYS find cheaper prices on the NEW stuff vs. what they want here. And size selection in my size (XS/0/2) is non-existent, but this is true at most consignment and thrift stores. Also, watch out for that handbag section. Every single "designer" bag for sale is fake. Coach, Kate Spade, and Louis Vuitton. All fake -- some even say "Fake Coach Bag" right on the price tag!! Now, you MAY find a real one in there, if you're lucky (but I've only seen fake...as in a "Coach" bag with the "C's" but made of cheap plastic. I'm NOT talking about designer-inspired bags). Did you know that selling fake handbags is illegal? Shame on you, Turnstyle! read more

I really enjoy this Turnstyle location. I buy and sell a lot here. I feel good knowing I'm 'recycling' (though many items I've bought have been brand new with tags). For those complaints about what they actually accept to consign - I've had better luck consiging stuff here than ANYWHERE else. The consignment process is based on supply and demand and is uniquely human - meaning - if they don't take something on the first try, try again. I've kept stuff in my garage and brought it back 2-3 times in different seasons and with different staff and usually am able to consign most stuff. If I try 3 times with a nicer item and it still doesn't sell, then I know it's a dud for consigning and I simply donate it. read more

CONSIGNER BEWARE. I have shopped this store a number of times. I was EXTREMELY disappointed with my first and only consigning experience at this location. Only one of my thirty items was accepted. Some of these items were brand new and all were in great shape. The employees were busy and said it would be a few hours before they would review my items. It was not made clear, even though I stated twice it was my first time consigning, that all the remaining items would be donated that day to charity. Had I known only one of thirty items would be accepted, I would have donated to the charity of my choice. SECONDLY, I bought a clock that didn't work after putting batteries in and returned it in 10 days because that is when I finally put the battery in and I wa snot alllowed to return or given credit. I had shopped here a lot to help a friend set up an apartment and was turned off by the lack of customer service. read more

Have had very mixed success here. Picked up some newish and like new items in good shape but lots of rather tired stuff on the racks. Worst tho, last time I left them with 8 items andmchecked back a couple months later, my very good quality good condition, clasic yet modern garments have been logged to my account as donated because they hadnt sold, even when I was imformed the last time I was in there that there was a credit on my account! Makes me wonder if 'domated' means donated to the staff? Or else their accounting is a mess. They should have online accounts that sellers can check on regularly. They sometimes dont take some things in excellent comdition and name brand like BR, Loft, Gap, Macys Designer brands but do take TARGET, JC Penney Kohls etc. Sometimes staff are nice but often they are rude. I will not be going to this store again after my current items have either sold or been 'domated'. read more

They are not willing to help you and virtually ignore you. They have decent selection of clothes and it's worth going as long as you don't want customer service. BEWARE if you want to consign anything with this store. They put your items out on the floor for a specified amount of time and then give you a date when you can pick up your items that did not sell. I went to go pick up my items a week before the due date and was told that an item was taken off the floor because it was damaged (button fell off a jacket) and donated. Their policy says they have a right to do that at any time without notifying you. They said the jacket was still in their store for donation and that they would look for it and let me know, but of course I never heard anything back from them. My point is, how do you know if the item became damaged or not. For all you know, they could have sold it and not documented it. Why they could not find the jacket if they said it did not leave their store for donation and never called me back, is extremely suspicious to me. The manager was the individual I was dealing with and she was extremely unhelpful, had no clue what happened and was probably 18 years old at best!! Another issue is that they make you look through the store to find your items that you want to take back, while they sit around and don't help you. Very unprofessional staff that could care less about your items and that you consign with them. Also, nothing sells at the first asking price (so they tell you) and ends up selling for the deep markdowns of $1.00 or so. You are much better off donating your items to worthy charities, than wasting your time with this place!! STAY AWAY!!!! read more

1st I will say, this is a decently nice business establishment. Most recently however, their new policies are off putting: Planned to consign HH, only to see "STOP" sign on front door--thinking Covid related-limit on # ppl in store--I read on--was about backlog of conignment inventory to get through-went in to get timeline, was told hr-hr 1/2. Came back hr 20 min later, still "STOP" on FD-& was told would be another hr b4 sign would come down, as so much came in over wkend & they don't "have 20 ppl to just deal with consigning".So I'm supposed to wait around for 3 hrs for them to catch up from the wkend? I asked if I could make an appt, that was a "No". Now I'm questioning myself, why am I so eager to consign my nice things, when, on average, I get $3.50 to $4 per item on my check-never fails, always avgs out about there. Everyone is nice enough, they just-don't care--too bad-go away or come back-doesn't matter. This new "STOP" policy is bad business-if consigning, can't come in, if shopping, you are welcome to come in-it has a nastiness to it-I am supplying inventory for you to sell-I should be greeted with a smile & some appreciation, not feel like I'm a bother, & dismissed. Oh and now, I "Must" stay in the store the whole time it takes for them to get through my items-so what used to be a 5 min dropoff, 5 min pickup, could potentially take 2 to 3 hrs out of my day-especially if I'm foolish enough to come in on a Monday-?-who's "dealing" with consignors over the weekend, so the rest of us are jammed up on Monday-maybe a NEW policy can be added to the "STOP" sign: Mondays-NO CONSIGNING-DO NOT ENTER TO CONSIGN--SHOPPERS WELCOME!! ...(that would be delightful) read more

Beware. The staff here are the NASTIEST WOMEN IN RETAIL. Rude, curt, sour, they think they're working at Neimans Their menswear is Is a collection of worn out, smelly items dropped off by widows. When I brought in nice items some still with tags on i.e. Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and Gucci, they turned their nose up. I felt like I had walked into a high end retailer like Neiman Marcus but then I realized I was in a store that sells USED goods. Get over yourself ladies! CONSIGNEE BE AWARE!! As a new consignee I brought in 21 team licensed jackets November 2014 to the Plymouth, MN location. After Christmas went to the store to follow up on sales. 11 sold. 6 returned back to me. 4 were lost, stolen, or mis-sold to another account. I had never been to this store before, and the selection and pricing is fabulous. I rarely bring things to sell at Turn Style but yesterday (10-4) I brought a sweater and a pair of shoes. They were busy and said it would be about 20 minutes before they could let me know if they would accept my items. I said I was going to leave but I'd call in about a half an hour to find out. After having to call back three times, I finally reached someone who told me they had "passed on the sweater" because it was all worn out and torn. This was a black, loosely knit, wool sweater from Chico's and I had never worn it. I told the person that but it didn't matter. I told her that I'd be back today (10-5-17) to pick it up. I really wanted to see the sweater again to show them it wasn't torn or worn out. I went there today to pick it up and it was nowhere to be found. I explained that I wanted it back to see what they were talking about because there was no way this sweater was in bad shape. This was a $100 sweater, that I probably would have gotten $7.00 anyway but since they didn't want it, I'd rather give it to someone else that I know personally. I was informed that most likely the problem was there was a new cosigner that took it in and perhaps didn't realize what the design was? I don't know but in the end I was told that the Salvation Army most likely picked it up last night. The whole thing was very irritating not to mention when you walk into the store, it smells of old clothing and today it smelled of body odor. I won't waste my time again. read more

I brought in some really nice home items, that were current, up to date stuff.....after waiting 45 minutes for help the last time I took my stuff back home with me. They had 2 people waiting just to buy my stuff, but couldn't be bothered. I have been here three times to consign clothing from both me and my husband. I have never been very impressed with the experience. Each time I have been there I worked with a different employee, and the items that they accept have been inconsistent and quite frankly odd. In my most recent experience last week, I brought several tops from BCBG, Banana Republic (Heritage line), The Limited, and some non-name brands. I also brought a pair of worn twice BCBG flats. The only thing the woman accepted was a non-name brand tank top that I bought from Marshalls several years ago. A few months ago, my husband brought in several button up tops, some with tags still attached that were purchased two months prior--they didn't accept them! I can't figure out the rhyme and reason for what they do and do not accept. I have never purchased an item here as my experience with attempting to consign has been so frustrating. I have browsed the racks while the employees have sorted through my clothing, and I haven't been impressed with the selection as many pieces seem out of date and slightly over priced for the condition. read more

I have shopped and consigned at the Plymouth location and each time I go I ask myself why do I continue to go there. I have been to other Turnstyle locations, namely Maple Grove and Southdale, and the staff has been much more friendlier than at the Plymouth location. I do not ever remember receiving a greeting when consigning (no matter what time of day) or checking out at the Plymouth location. Definitely feel like they are doing me a favor. I recently went to this location with a friend from IL and she made the comment after we left, "they are not very friendly there." I did not comment -- it only helped to validate that it is not just me. I have better luck with purchases vs consigns there, too. read more
