He had asked to use the bathroom at one of the neighbor places , they told him no . This place was nice enough to let my dad use their bathroom . He just wasn't paying attention when they told him where it was . Thank you to the employee who showed kindness and walked him to where it was. Well, the women working the day I went in were definitely not living by that philosophy. All I can say is that I witnessed the poorest customer service I've ever seen. I was made to feel that I had no right to shop in this store, and was given the "once over" when I walked in. I asked to see a bag behind the counter and when I asked questions about it, the woman working there pretty much ignored me.

There were other people in the store that were older than us and they acted politely towards them. We wanted to speak up but did not have the confidence to a the time. Anytime we were looking through a rack they gave glared at us from across the room. Do not recommend going to fashion avenue if you do not want to feel less then welcome in their store.

If you're down to scrounge, this place might be for you (I'd just urge you to wash your hands after). That said, I specifically went here today because I needed a stapler. Mine went missing when I moved (probably in some box I've yet to unpack in my storage unit), and there's zero need to purchase a brand new stapler when I know I can get an old reliable Swingline from a thrift place like this (plus, I remembered on my first amble through here that they had a whole basket of staplers). Sure enough, I was able to acquire a stapler. But you can bet your ass that I brought along some staples to test out said staplers... the first one I picked up had a busted spring, but the second was fully functional. Both had been priced at $3. I mention this simply as a word of warning to consider testing before you buy.) I also picked up a bobbin thread case and a quart sized bag of crayons (both priced at $3) while I was there. This place is good for finding the kind of craft stuff your granny would keep around at a low price. And honestly, you're doing the environment a BIG favor to snag this kind of thing off a thrift store shelf rather than "convenience buy" it off Amazon or whatever. You can save money and feel good about yourself. The rest of the store has stuff like glassware, clothing, kids stuff, and holiday decor. It's not all amazing stuff. I reckon a lot of folks donate stuff they don't care to sort through when an elderly parent finally kicks it. The employee behind the checkout counter was a little slow to bother acknowledging me, but once we were interacting, they were friendly enough and wished me a good day; seemed like they were happy I actually bought something instead of just browsing.

Worth the stop - 4 stars…read more Pine Creek is an antique store right on the main drag in the old town part of North Branch. It's a lot bigger than it looks like on the outside. The whole thing is shaped like a giant "L" and it actually has 2 separate entrances. This is a traditional mall type antique store with multiple vendors. The store also has quite a few "house" items that are owned by the store. The reason I know this is because the item I picked wasn't marked and they happened to mention that it's a house piece when they were trying to figure out the price. The shop is well organized, clean, and displayed nicely. The prices all seem super reasonable. And the staff members are nice people. I had a pleasant chat with the owners about the long history of the building...very interesting. One of the main things I like about this place is it actually has antiques! There are very few new items. By far, nearly everything is what I'd consider antique or vintage. One notable exception is a vendor that seems to be preoccupied with Christmas items, most of which looked like modern products. Not my thing but I suppose there are people that dig this. This has been the third one I've been to, and each one always has something very unique that I like and want to buy. It's always changing so if I wait a few months I can see everything different! Stopped in here on my way up to Little Falls. It took me a while to figure out what color tags were…read moreon sale since they don't post them but they are on announcements and there's a monitor on the ceiling near the checkout area. I found a book and some stick on nails I waited in line for and knew the cashier was not selling items that didn't have tags (there's a sign up front that says this policy too). However I thought all books were a set price and didn't worry until it was my turn and she asked if the book had a tag. I said no and told her where I found the book on the shelf. She said she can't sell it without a tag and just stared at me as if she was waiting for me to either put up a stink or ask more. I just said well I guess I can't buy it then? She set it aside. I did ask if she could just price it or get a manager and she said she was a manager and left it at that. Why was it on the sales floor then without a sticker if you have this policy? She said it would be out on the floor in the next day or so after getting a price. I stopped by later in the week after that to see if I could find the book again but I sadly couldn't find it, I got some other items instead and the gentlemen this time was super friendly and was astounded at hearing about my previous visit. If I knew about their policy beforehand I would have just taken a sticker off one item and put it on the book...I won't stop here again as it's out of the way.
