While the physical work was completed, the owner, José, proved to be fundamentally dishonest and deceitful. He misrepresented his business credentials and personal history to a degree that made me feel unsafe and highly manipulated as a client. He asked inappropriate personal questions about the whereabouts of my mother, my younger sister and me. He asked me about my marital status, as well as my sister's, and he asked if I was in bed late at night, and then began speaking to me in sexually suggestive ways, often following up with text messages and emojis reinforcing his inappropriate behaviors, and making me feel targeted and unsafe. After discovering he was leading a double life and misrepresenting the legal and financial structure of his business (which is registered under an Irrevocable Family Trust), I confronted him with the facts and, black and white proof I obtained. Instead of accountability, he became defensive and dismissive. I can no longer trust this individual on my mother's property. I am warning all women to avoid this man, José, for their own safety. If you are looking for a contractor who values integrity, professional boundaries, and honesty, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. A business is only as good as the word and moral character/standards of its owner, and in this case, that word means very little and his character/standards fall well below acceptable norms which, in this case, are built on a foundation of quicksand, and are as hollow as the stories (lies) he tells. Save your time, money, and safeguard your core values and safety, and hire a professional known for transparency and a proven track record of honesty and integrity.

I emailed them, they respond with statements that do not lead to any type of resolution to this situation, such as "Just wanted to reach out, because we are unsure how the roots are growing under the turf. We did install a weed-blocker on top of the dirt." I finally managed to get someone on the line, they say they'll charge a $2800 fee to investigate the matter and fix it IF it's possible (I didn't see this anywhere in the warranty paperwork by the way). If it's a root issue, they can't remove it and leave you SOL. As professional as this company may seem, they don't want to help you without extra charge afterwards. Go with someone else that would.

I hired this company to install turf about two years ago. By August of this year, the turf already…read morehad sinkholes forming underneath, even though it was only two years old. When I contacted the company, they said it was "probably because it had rained so much." They came back, ripped up the turf, and refilled the dirt. After that, I noticed the turf was shedding badly. When I mentioned it, the installer told me it was because I had a "made in China turf" -- even though he was the one who originally installed it! He then claimed that it was his old boss who supplied that turf, not him. He was originally East Coast Artificial Grass and now he is Astro Turf Guru. Said East Coast sold it to him but the owner is the same name 2 years ago as today. Coincidence?! or Sketchy? I asked for new turf installation in October. The quote seemed high, so I asked for a better price, which they slightly adjusted, and I agreed. When they finished the new install, something looked off -- so I lifted a corner and found they had installed the new turf directly on top of the old turf. I'm no expert, but I'm quite sure that's not the proper installation method. When I questioned it, they told me it was "good for kids if they fall." I never requested extra padding, and it's not the right material for that purpose. Ask any other turf professional, they all say no not the right way to install turf. When I called to address the issue, the person on the phone had an excuse for everything and wouldn't take accountability. He said he wouldn't redo any extra work because the ground was uneven -- even though he was the one who worked on that same ground just two months prior. I requested a refund, at least for the cost of the turf, but he refused. He offered to come back and "fix it," but after how many times the company came to work on it and it's already been messed up, I didn't trust them to make it worse. Overall, this was a very unprofessional company that clearly doesn't do the job the right way. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone looking for quality turf work or HONEST communication.
