I'm happy to say that this company is totally the opposite. I worked with Zack who was the project manager for the work. Very easy to talk to, explained what needed to be done and honest about recommending one way or another. Very formal about creating a contract and sticking with it. After the project started came everyday multiple times to check on the quality and progress of the job by his guy. I would totally hire this company for future work.

There are a plenty of good handyman and contactors out there that are professional and I do not wish anyone will need to go through what I had. I live in Boston MA and I own a rental in NY. Derick called me when I needed help replacing my tenant's broken bathroom window. He seems fine at first, visited the premise and did some diagnostic and measurements for the new window. Things really went south when he began to ask for upfront payment for the materials. Thinking back now this should my first red flag, I wasn't really thinking too much back then because the amount he asked was not a lot (around $200) and since I had many experiences with other handyman and contactor on Yelp and never had any issue until I met Derick. When he asked payment for the materials we also discussed the estimate cost for the labor, the price he gave was around another $200 which seems fine to me. The next day he contacted me and said he needs to come over today to finish the job, we had not agree on the timing on the appointment yet and it was a little bit changeling on my end with such a short notice because I need to arrange the timing with my tenant and it turns out they are not at home that day. I explained that to Derick and he came back with a demanding tone saying if we don't let him in today, we will need to wait around two weeks as he will traveling to outer state (again none of these were communicated to us before). So I went back to my tenant, apologized to them and asked them if someone could return home that day; they were nice enough to leave early from work to be there for Derick. When he arrived, he called me and told me I need to pay him in full before he can start working. This is my second red flag and I was a little bit surprised because I was never asked to paid contactors in full before they complete their work. On top of that, the price he requested was way above the original estimate, he asked for $500 which was more than double of $200. I understand sometime actual charges would be vary from estimate, but this was too much. I am little a upset at that point but didn't wanted to waste any more time so we negotiated the price and we agreed on $300. Around two to three hours later he sent me a pic of the window took from a distance saying job is done. I got a call from my tenant right after saying they didn't seal the window before they left. I reached out to him and said he "forgot" to bring the materials and will come back next week (although he said they will be out of state next week). But anyway, I never heard back from Derick and he ignored all my calls and texts. I gave him more than a week to respond and he still ghosting on me so I eventually end up reaching out to another contactor to finish his job. The story doesn't end there, my other contactor came visited earlier this week and stated it was the worst window installed he ever saw in his career. The window itself was in wrong size and the whole window was not flush with frame and it was just hanging with big gaps without seal. Aside from water leakage the whole window could potentially fall out if there was a storm. I could not believe this cost me $300 and turned out to be a household hazard. We ended up having to reinstall the whole window, which means the all the $ I spent before went to nothing. I really learned my lesson from Derick, although the money was not much for them to even care (about $500), I might also consider reporting this to BBB.
