Ever since my wife, dog and I were lucky enough to have a backyard in Brooklyn with grass, it's made a huge difference in terms of our overall happiness. We love to spend time outside, and we also never thought we'd have a backyard living in NYC. The gist of what I'm saying below is: Nick and his team will enable you to live your best life! And for the quality you get we absolutely could not find a better price. We did get lower quotes from other suppliers but seemed too good to be true; we did get at least one quote at 3x the price with no clear benefits. Nick is honest, will get you the best materials (for us we got K9 turf as we have a dog), and will actually follow through on his promises. I will also say, not just for turf, but out of all the contractors we've worked with the last few months, Nick has been the absolute best hands down! It's good to have that comfort in knowing something will get done right. Background is: In the place we lived in from 2020 to 2024 there was a backyard with turf - and we'd host bbq's out there (not directly on the turf), put up a swinging chair, played with our dog, etc.; and then this summer we were moving to a new place and we thought we had to have space for a backyard and luckily we found one. After getting 3 or 4 quotes we ended up going with Nick as we felt the most comfortable with him, his quote process, his knowledge, his willingness to do the best work, etc. That's definitely clear when you talk to him. We then had him come over and take a look, measure everything out, finalize the order - and we were on a timeline as we had tenants moving in on the ground floor so Nick and team had to do it before then. Nick and his team were fantastic! This review is long overdue. I moved into a new home in spring 2024, and within a few months, the nicely mulched area had turned into a giant swarm of weeds. We just couldn't keep up with how fast and strong the weeds were growing through. So we asked Nick to wipe the slate clean completely and put down some turf, make an area our dog could use as her bathroom. And it's held up so nicely, now almost a year later. We are seeing occasional weeds peek out on the sides, so we will need to spray to keep them at bay, but it still looks gorgeous and is the right blend of not-fake-looking but easy-to-maintain. 100000% recommend Nick and his crew on so many levels. My family and I just moved into a home in Brooklyn with an empty dirt backyard. I had a vision to do a mix of astroturf and new pavers, but had no idea how to execute it. When Nick came over, I showed him my chicken scratch sketch and he knew exactly what to do and gave really great recommendations on things I had no idea about (flood prevention, etc). I also appreciated that I told him we had a really strict budget so he shared with us some amazing ideas on what we could do to keep the cost down. He never pushed for me to do any additional work which I really appreciated. Okay so to the good part. Here are the reasons why I highly recommend him: Communication - incredibly responsive. always answered all my questions, even if I repeated the same ones because he just wanted to make sure I knew exactly what he was going to do and why. Honest - he would literally show me RECEIPTS of items he purchased! I have worked with other contractors and they would just make up numbers when I asked how much things would cost. Quality - he really cares about the work and commits to it. You can see from start to finish. And he was there majority of the time doing the work alongside his crew. There was a moment after the pavers were installed where I was nervous about my design decision but he said "trust the process" and I was glad I did because the backyard came out really wonderfully.
