From brick walls to the most comfortable seats, great touches are everywhere within. Fashionable and comfy, just enough designer to feel special, and not so much to kill the relaxed vibe. The food selections are unique but not weird. Well thought out, and compelling. We wanted to order the entire menu! The food arrived and we were in love! Don't miss the bacon or the charcuterie, but that meant we missed out on... well, we'll have to come back. Our service was excellent. Our server was very well versed in the menu, and answered our questions both expertly and patiently. We were very well taken care of. Just enough attention to feel pampered, but not smothered. The Hoosier Proper was a pleasant surprise and we look forward to returning when in the area!

So we took a trek to Amish country and stopped in for a stogie. I've been to cigar bars all over the US and this place stands toe-to-toe with the best spots I've visited. Upon entry we were greeted by the proprietor, Stacy, who told us about the menu, layout and humidor. And speaking of the owner... He stopped by my section no less than 5 times in a ~3 hour period just to ensure we were having a good time. The service here is excellent; heck even the bartender (Grasshopper) came by to say hello when it was slow. I just love the personal attention, because you come away feeling they legitimately care if I have a good time. They have a wall of whiskey, so if there's a bourbon you want, they'll probably have it. Slow Burn also has a legit cigar selection, and the owner mentioned it's growing. I called that out because apparently the place is less than a year old, but it operated like a well oiled machine. Nothing I sampled felt unreasonably priced. And even tho it's a hike from where I live...I will absolutely return in the future.

The food was good - just a couple of things that could be improved. We both picked the MSG pizza which included mushrooms, sausage and giardiniera. We had NO IDEA giardiniera is spicy! Like SUPER HOT. As much as I tried to pick it off my pizza, it made it so hard to eat and kinda ruined the experience. I'm sure I would have loved the pizza had I known to pick something else without spice! Maybe put a note on the glass at the front and on the menu designating spicy ingredients. Also, the caesar salad came out absolutely doused in dressing. Fortunately, we were both cool with that, but fair warning to others they may want to request it on the side. Overall though, cool pizza spot. Looking forward to giving it another try next time we're back in town and trying something NOT so spicy.
