We are super disappointed in the doors and service with Tungsten Royce. These doors were very expensive and the paint started peel after one year. We recently had to have bids done to repair the peeling paint and each of the paint companies said the same thing. These doors were not primed. When we inquired, we got the run around and it took weeks for someone to call us back and then no follow-up. We would not recommend this company for obvious reasons. It is quite expensive to have these doors repainted when they weren't painted/prepared correctly in the first place. In addition to the paint, we have had to have a repair person come out twice to fix the hinges. We had originally wanted two doors and the company insisted on three and one which doesn't work well. The hardware used holding the non locking doors were cheap and had issues within the first few months. They didn't hold the doors and had to be lubricated and even replaced. When you spend this amount of money on carriage doors you would think they would last more than 9 months and that the service would be excellent. On top of those issues, the locking door goes off the track and won't close. We have had to pay to repair this within the first year of completion of these doors. This has happened several times and today the sweeper under the door fell off. We are extremely disappointed in Tungsten Royce's products, customer service and lack of follow through. read more

I contacted Chase of Tungsten Royce 3 years ago to install a custom gate based upon my vision. I wanted an 8 foot tall gate. I wanted African Mahogany. I wanted frosted glass. The list goes on. In the end, Chase built a one of a kind masterpiece. It's not just a piece of art, it's the focal point of our home. It's modern, yet warm. It's overwhelming, yet welcoming. Fast forward three years later and I had an issue with the electric bolt latching on the gate and contacted Chase to help me out. Given the uniqueness of the gate, I couldn't simply call any carpenter or handyman to look into the issue. I was looking for a door to convert my garage to an entertainment/Man cave space (for you know who). I called Tungsten Royce and they came to my home and gave me a few great ideas. I didn't want the regular roll up door because the track isn't very attractive. Mike suggested a swinging garage door that would pass inspection/code in my area. After a few rounds of drawings on design these guys found the perfect fit. I signed up and 8 weeks later... These guys delivered exactly what they promised. We were incredibly happy with our garage doors and working with Tungsten Royce was a highlight of our garage remodel project. They were very clear the doors were custom made to our spec - we could come up with any design we wanted and they would make it work. We did bifold doors for a garage/living space and added windows. Mike took very precise measurements and gave us good information for the initial quote. Dru was our contact person throughout fabrication and delivery - he mailed us paint samples to verify before the doors were painted, and was very clear and responsive throughout the whole process. Doors were available much sooner than we had initially anticipated which was great. Their installers (Chris and son) did a great and thorough job lining the doors up and making sure they worked perfectly in every way. We've had them for a month now and absolutely love them - one tiny issue with a window that we noticed a few days later was immediately addressed. Over a year ago, I employed Tungsten Royce to put up a custom made gate at the front of my property. After several phone calls and follow ups, they installed a beautiful gate. They told us they had to come back in a year to maintain it. Once again after at least ten calls, they came back to look at it and told us there was structural damage and the caps were worn. They set up a date to come back and fix it. They never showed on the date and have still not returned calls. I would NEVER work with this company again and advise others not to, because they have NO FOLLOW UP with their company and you get stuck with what they initially put up. I have to be forced to take legal action for them to even return calls. read more

The guys at Tungston Royce did a fantastic job making my bi-fold carriage doors. My house in NY has carriage doors from another company, but after meeting with Mike & Chase at my house and I even went to visit their production facility (I'm a technical guy, I like to see how things are made and inspect quality and workspace) I decided to use them for the doors on my house in LA. They also referred me to an installer Chris (CM construction) they work with frequently for SoCal. He did a great job on the install. These guys are passionate about building quality doors, knowledgeable on material choices and I feel the cost of the doors is a value when you consider it's a hand made in the USA custom product. read more

I was concerned recently when the rough hewn timber gate at a Signature Property in Rancho Santa Fe started to fail. Luckily I found the team at Tungsten Royce. They appreciated the design of the original gate which extended the use of rough hewn timbers and natural stone found all over the property, a style often seen in the Loire Valley. While the gate is heavy and sturdy, it also provides sightlines to the oversize urns and landscape inside the gate. Instead of giving us a design for a replacement gate, Tungsten Royce gave us a perfect recreation of the original gate. But better than that, they used materials and techniques that may last a lifetime. They addressed and corrected the problems that were built into the original gate. read more

I would not do business with this company again!! You expect quality for what these guys charge but they deliver nothing remotely close. Poor customer service and no attention to detail. Their installer did such a poor job that the company had to send someone out 8 times to correct his obvious errors and we're still having problems months later. Barely cleaned up during installation and left nails in the driveway in plain sight. We're pursuing other avenues to "make things right." I'd be happy to talk to anyone who's considering hiring these guys and show you their "handy work." It might look good from a distance, but upon closer inspection......Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

We were so happy with how the gates looked when they were first installed. It has been a year and a half, we have been battling problems ever since. Currently one of the gates is sealed shut and we have been unable to use it for months, and another cannot be closed. Calls and text messages for assistance have gone unanswered and unaddressed since January. Promises of calls to address the problem never come. The unprofessionalism and disregard is truly disappointing. I am now faced with finding someone that can fix our gates and determining how to approach restitution. read more

I contacted Tungsten as a result of the positive reviews that were aged but nevertheless positive. I secured an appointed very quickly with Mike Bronson whom measured, and discussed options for a custom entry and 3 garage doors. We spent a great deal of time together discussing options. Mike indicated he would have my proposal in a few days. I followed several weeks later and both my calls and emails went unanswered. Now 5 weeks later, and due to persistence on my part-- I finally spoke to him. Mike actually indicated that he was down to a mere 5 employees (for over a month?) due to some flu epidemic. Most perplexing, was the fact that he was completely unwilling to provide me with a proposal or an estimation of when he could provide one. He actually just said he could not put one together.
