I sent my mother here hoping that this facility would ease her pain. Quite the opposite. They made her find a GP that was affiliated with Jacobi to (supposedly) facilitate a future surgery. She complied. Unfortunately, she was unable to get an appointment with this doctor for a couple of months, leaving her without a GP in the interim. One would think that during this period, Dr. Tuluca would provide her with a prescription for her antidepressants until she can connect with her new doctor. Dr. Tuluca REFUSED and his staff was very rude and not understanding of the sensitive nature of the situation. So I called them myself and they refused to speak to me. I told them I was not asking for any information, simply requesting that they send the prescription to the pharmacy. They continued to rant and speak over me, talking about confidentiality, and I reiterated that I was not requesting any information, only demanding that they send the prescription to be filled. Let's see what they say when I send them a HIPAA. Know this friends: You are not supposed to stop and start antidepressants, it creates havoc emotionally and physically. Any doctor worth his salt would know this and not subject an already fragile patient to this type of treatment, which I consider abuse. And to top it off, while I'm on the phone, begging them to send her prescription to the pharmacy, they put me on speakerphone to taunt me and by the way, break my mother's "medical confidentiality" to anyone within earshot. I hate that my poor mom has to deal with these people. They are cruel. read more

Tulucca got me hooked on so many pain pills had to go to detox to get off of them.He was given me opana 60 pills 40 mg 2 times a day and 120 pills 10 mg 325 percocet. Which is 120 mg a day.among other things he gave me I never took.And he over charges Medicaid and medicare.I had a $40 dollar balance which is the 20%Medicare dont paywhen I left he kept billing Medicare to get the 40 down to $13 dollars...I will be calling Medicare to tell them..He is interested in only money not the patients...There are so many Quality doctors out there and not a BUTTHEAD like tulucca. Go at your own RISK.The girls who work there a few are nice and the others are buttheads like tulucca..He is a BAD doctor Glad I left. read more

I can't believe how we were treated there. Staff lied to us to many times with the problem we had with them instead of being honest with us and admitted they were wrong. My mom who is 89 years old was penalized for being one minute late. The appointment was for 11 am and she got there 11:01 am and without telling us they moved her to a 12 noon appointment. When I asked the receptionist why people that were being seen and leaving that came after us the receptionist said they moved her appointment a hour after to 12 noon because she was late. They could have said something to us but they did not and when I complained to the manager she sat there and lied to my face and said that the receptionist never said that . All they did was lie back and forth to each other ,to the doctor and to us. The doctor instead siding with his patient he sided with his staff. If they just would have been honest and came clean we would have not been so upset. They seen I was getting pissed off every time they lied to us and instead of calming me down and admitting they were wrong and apologizing they lied more and more trying to cover themselves. I left the office because my temper was fuming. Through the door I heard them yelling at my mother like a dog as soon as I left. I was about 4 feet from the door and I could here them berating my mom That all changed when re entered the waiting room. I told them how dare you talk to my 89 year old mother like that. We waited a hour and a half without being seen yet people that came after us were being seen and leaving. They did this to a 89 year old woman in sever pain. I highly recommend not using them. There staff is nothing but a bunch of bullshit artist and truly don't care about the patients . I would never recommend them to my worst enemy. These people forget that the customer comes first not last. We will making a report with the Board of health and the hospital they are affiliated with on how they treat their patients. If the doctor had any class he would have asked his employees to leave the room and talked to us alone and told us he will deal with them latter but he did not. Total asshole !!!!! I'm so glad I did not go to see him He lost 2 customers that day not just my mom but I was planning to use him too . Glad I found out how he conducts business before I made an appointment. read more

I just have to say... WOW! I am new to NY and came on this site looking for a pain management Dr. and to check out several reviews. Quite frankly, I am appalled at the back and forth between this doctors office and anyone who might dare to leave a negative review. How old are these people at this office and is this really the actual doctor responding??? What are we 12yr olds? ---BTW, the "Dr.'s" response back to the woman's complaint about her mom has since been removed but it was still seen by me and all of my colleagues. I could not help but show my fellow nurses and MD's the horrible display of immaturity and unprofessionalism of this office that was made evident by the response to the reviews left on this site. I have worked in business as well as in the medical field with TRUE healthcare PROFESSIONALS. This is NOT how you handle a customer complaint and this is NOT how you handle criticism in a constructive, professional way. I am a nurse and have had to deal with irate family and patients. In this field you cannot take things personally. Part of my job is to deescalate difficult situations in a calm professional manner as sometimes anger is a sign and symptom of pain. I have dealt with patients that have been in severe pain. When someone is in that much pain they are not always the most pleasant person in the world to deal with. Their fuse is short because of their pain and discomfort. To add, any family member that truly cares for the individual in pain will also be on the defensive. As a PAIN MANAGEMENT office, you should be better equipped to deal with such a situation empathetically with kindness, compassion and PROFESSIONALISM. I see that patience and communication is not part of your office motto, nor is it your forte. Part of our job as medical PROFESSIONALS is patient education. A calm explanation to the first complaint as to how to obtain the medication her mother needed would have avoided the whole mix up. Obviously a poor job was done on the part of the office in doing so. Whomever is responding back to these negative reviews should be ashamed of yourselves and should grow up. Your office is not a play yard and it should be represented A LOT better than this. You are dealing with and are there to serve people who are in PAIN for goodness sakes. As for the second negative review, I have worked with some AMAZING doctors and I have NEVER heard or seen them respond back to a patient complaint in such a rude, immature and pathetically unprofessional manner. Especially not with such benign complaints. It is hard for me to believe a doctor who has more important things to focus on, like managing his patients pain, would stoop down so low in a response to a negative review on Yelp. This office staff is a horrible representation of your character Dr. Tuluca, which I am sure is not a true representation of your character and professionalism at all. I am sure you are being wrongly represented, at least I hope so. All I have left to say is thank goodness for Yelp and being able to shop for a QUALITY doctor and office by reading how the office staff and doctors handle difficult situations. ---at least the pathetically immature comment by the office was removed, it just should have never been written in the first place. SAD...very sad that they have individuals working in that office that would retaliate in this way working with individuals in pain. read more
