The staff at BCDC are very friendly, from the front desk to the lady who those my x-rays. Everyone was very detailed about every procedure especially the Dentist. He took this time when explaining the x-rays which was pretty awesome. The dentist advised me about the next steps I should take in order to have my teeth aligned properly so now I know my next moves. BCDC really made me feel comfortable and will be going back soon for other procedures. A major plus came at the end of my visit when I was given a bag with a toothbrush, paste, and floss. I'm so happy I did because he actually made me feel better, not only physically but happier to know that he genuinely cares about my well being. My coworker warned me that an appointment with him would likely take weeks to a few months to receive but his administrative staff, Michelle and Kathy, are so great and I was able to see him a few days after my first call to the office. They are on top of his schedule and they call patients when openings become available so as to accommodate. I work in the medical field so I know we can be hypochondriacs but I trust him enough to not second guess his opinions or directives. It is refreshing and calming to know that my doctor wants me to be well as much as I want to be well, to listen to my concerns and address them and make me feel as though I have a part to play in decisions about my health care. I am so happy to have found Dr. Markowitz. He is a treasure to the field of medicine. More doctors should carry themselves, professionally, as he does.

I spent almost a day researching GI docs in the New York area. I made two appointments...one with Dr. Markowtiz and one with some other doc. Both doctors I met with have mega-credentials and are in the "Best Doctors in America" book. However, the first guy I saw was way too fast and seemed to have no empathy for me at all. He was part of a faculty practice at Mt. Sinai and had some lady doing her fellowship meet with me for the majority of the visit. I did not wait several months for an appointment to meet with some random woman doing her fellowship. Then I went to see Dr. Markowtiz. It took me like 3 or 4 months to get an appointment with him....but I was fine with waiting...as this was not pressing. Dr. Markowitz is a very personable down to earth doctor who takes his time and listens to what you have to say. He saw me personally, not some assistant or resident...it was only him. I could tell right away that this guy is an absolute pro. He did the procedure, which was nothing and I'm fine. I highly recommend Dr. Markowitz. From what I gather, he is one of the best GI docs in the country. And on top of that, he is a nice guy.

I walked in there with such pain to my feet, it felt like walking on eggshells. When I left, I felt so relieved and out of pain and comfortable again. It makes a world of a difference going to that clinic and interacting with the staff that's in there because they actually care. I would recommend it to anyone.

I called to check on services…read moreavailable for my elderly father and was told "yes, just walk in anytime" when I arrived we were denied entry by a security guard at the door because "we are too full". It is cold and raining outside, and as I said, my father is elderly and sick. I asked if I could at least register him, and we could wait in my car for their call. A lady from behind the front desk yelled out, " I'll come to you in one minute." The brown skin lady came to the doorway and said, " I have 7 patients in rooms, and the waiting area is full. It's a 2.5-hour wait. You can wait outside until someone leaves, and I can let you in to register. " I asked her, " why when I called 30 min prior regarding my elderly father, did you not say it's a 2.5 hr wait, It's very full right now and you might be waiting outside? " The lady responded with, " We don't tell people those things unless they ask. " I asked the lady if she can let me register him, and then we will wait in my car, that I paid parking for, and I'll call in to check his status every 30 min. She responded with "No he can't register. We are too full. You can leave and come back later or wait outside. " I pointed out my father standing beside me in the cold and getting wet from rain. I explained I paid for parking, and if we leave and come back, he has no place in line. She repeated, " he can't register until we have room so he can wait outside or come back later." CityMD doesn't care about the community it serves. They obviously had issues in the past that they require a security on site. This says alot about the lack of compassion and customer service, to offer an 85 yr old man to stand outside in the cold rain to be registered. The staff here lack basic human decency, empathy and compassion. Horrible customer service, poor business practices, deplorable office/patient management. CityMD is well known throughout the city for poor care and calling an ambulance unnecessarily, without the patient's consent, needlessly exhausting 911 emergency resources. The next call is the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint. SHAME on CityMD of Southern Blvd for suggesting and elderly man wait in the cold rain to register or be turned away.

You have to call at 8am in order to get an appointment for the next day. They do offer a lot of services within the same place. I usually have to wait about an hour to be seen even when I arrive on time or early for my appointment...(they prefer you arrive 15mins before your appointment)
