One of the best bakeries I've ever been to! EVERYTHING they have is stellar. From breakfast to dessert items, Tullio's got it all! Some of my favorites were the French toast bagel, cheese cinnamon bun, and made-to-order cannoli donut (just ask for it, and they'll make it for you). They also made a gorgeous beach birthday cake for me! Their customer service is wonderful, and they always tell you to "have a sweet day!" Can't wait to go back next time I'm in OBX! First time in the outer banks so ofcourse I wanted to look for a good bakery! Found this place online and after perusing their website I decided that I wanted the creme brulee bread pudding. Went there but that didn't have it! This happened twice! First time I decided that I'm going to try the chocolate fantasy which turned out to be DELICIOUS! Had it again the second time I went there but this time I actually ordered the bread puddings. I picked them up the following day and also got a chocolate crumble cake slice. The bread pudding was good when warmed up but I feel like it should have had some caramel sauce on top! Be warned though, it's not your typical wet bread pudding. It's firm, not soggy and it's shaped like a mini bundt. I'll try making my own caramel sauce for it! Hubby loved the crumble cake, I liked the actual chocolate cake part If like me, you're obsessed with having the bread pudding I would recommend ordering it so you're not disappointed! read more

We went here twice as a family. The first time was for breakfast and they had one of the best bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel that I've had in a long time. We also got the carrot cake which was just as good. I highly recommend if you're in Duck. read more

Outstanding Italian bakery. Tiramisu to die for. The "Lobster Tails" are also outstanding! The only thing that is annoying is that they don't post any prices on anything, so you have to ask the server. It's just... lame, since everything is clearly labeled, but no prices on the bakery items. It's especially annoying when there is a long line, and you don't want to slow down everyone. We arrived in Duck looking for a cake for my sons birthday. We stopped into the bakery around noon and I waited a good 15mins before leaving. Not a single person acknowledged me and there were a handful of people waiting for their lunch orders. They must have been busy. I looked at the hours on the door (12-8) and assumed I can come back later when less busy. Instead I called around 3:45 that day and asked if I can order a simple cake over the phone. The person who answered was rude saying "she doesn't know what cake I want and I should come in". I was trying to avoid the waiting I had experienced earlier! I asked for just a small simple white cake. She then agreed to take my order over the phone. She then proceeded to tell me they close in an hour! (Not the time printed on the door!). We ran over and picked it up. Cake was good, but not $45 good!!! It was enough to serve maybe 8-10 people. Kids said it had too much icing- lol! Wish I would have just ordered from food lion instead. I was trying to support a local business, but probably will not consider them again for a cake like this. read more

We walked into Tullio's by accident and found it to be an amazing, old school, wonderful Italian bakery that also makes amazing pasta trays! We ordered the baked ziti and spinach bread for dinner. We cannot compliment Dawn and Tom enough for the amazing wedding cake they made and delivered for our small wedding. Everyone raved about it! My husband said it was the best cake he had ever had. Even my dad, who is originally from NY and knows what good bakeries are all about, said they were 'master bakers.' We just bought a house in Duck and a friend recommended we check out this place. Let's just say that I don't need to ever go back to Duck donuts! I cannot wait to go back and try out more things. It was worth every single calorie. We got the raspberry crumb cake, the blueberry cake donut, and a carrot cake cupcake. Every thing was amazing. When I got the crumb cake, I told my husband there was no way I could finish it on one sitting because it was so big. Boy, was I wrong. I finished it with no problems whatsoever! Upon first glance, we thought it would be delicious. The smell is amazing when you walk in the door... maybe that's where the nice stops. We should have read the reviews. We picked two different things-- a red velvet cake slice and a cheesecake cupcake and with a small piece of fudge. Red Velvet- Tasted like the inside of a freezer without it being covered. It was dense, but had no flavor. My mother makes better cake then that. The frosting was absolutely horrid. Red velvet is my absolute favorite-- I know my cream cheese frosting. This tasted like cheap butter that had been mixed together. Gross, I couldn't even finish it. Cupcake- I'll make it short and sweet. There was ZERO cheesecake in this supposed cheesecake cupcake. It was dry and falling apart and the frosting was appalling. Fudge- OVERPRICED. It was OK, but nearly 3 dollars for a 1x1 piece? Get a life that is ridiculous. You are in Duck not Milan. Finally, we called in to let them know. My fiance was perfectly nice and just wanted to tell them because maybe it was an easy fix like an untrained employee or an oven issue (trying to be positive) and he asked for the manager. They said they were gone for the evening so he just relayed the message. He kept an even tone and all of the sudden the owner's daughter got flat out rude with him blaming us basically and saying someone always calls in and complains and we don't know what we are talking about. She said there is nothing she can do about it and there is nothing she can do about it by calling in because he parents will tell him the same thing and it's just tough. Oh well... time to support the other locals that appreciate the hard earned dollars we pass onto them. I'll be looking for a new establishment the next time I come. read more

Wonderful homemade carrot cake while on beach vacation. We travelled from Virginia to Corolla to celebrate my Dad's 80th birthday.
