The way that I will go to tullios for a breakfast sandwich daily when I'm in town is hurting my wallet but making my stomach (and heart!) happy. The staff has always been kind to me and even at their busiest they ensure I get my order, and properly too! I always grab my things to-go and therefore forego the outdoor seating area, though it is appreciated I'm sure by the people walking around Duck that want a spot to sit and eat their baked goods. My go-to order is the hashtag on a bagel with ghost pepper cheese. The cheese is spicy, and they tell you that on the menu. Multiple times over the years I've heard people come back in complaining that it's too hot for them, and they in turn get pointed to the menu (as they should). As a gal who loves spicy, I think it's a huge hit and I love that it's an option! I'm not crazy about the coffee, but I don't go for the coffee so that isn't part of my personal rating. I also love their almond croissants and bagels as they are! I love bringing my out of towners here and it's always a favorite. read more

We got our wedding cake here and it was absolutely AMAZING!! Delicious! All the guests agreed it was one if the best tasting wedding cakes they had ever had. We ordered chocolate cake with raspberry buttercream filling and iced in almond flavored buttercream. The piped decorations were so beautiful. We chose to add sugar flowers we ordered off Etsy but the plain cake would have been more than beautiful enough on its own! Dawn was very easy to work with, just keep in mind that they are a VERY BUSY bakery during the summer season and so she cannot take cake orders before noon. Tullio's is THE spot for breakfast in Duck. Traditional NY-style bagels, tasty pastries and extravagant cakes. We look forward to getting to-go breakfast from here every summer! We normally get the everything, sesame and French toast bagels. They are SO good that even our dog likes stealing them off the counter and eating them. The French toast bagel is to die for. You don't even need to toast it. Just throw some butter on it and you're good to go. The donuts are great, haven't found a place to beat them on the island yet. A trip to the OBX doesn't feel right without a couple slabs of the crumb cake - the perfect match for your morning coffee. The pastries are delicious as well, the croissants are perfect. We haven't tried them yet, but people line up to get breakfast sandwiches here. Next summer we'll have to give them a go! read more

Bakery items very tasty. A bit expensive but this is a tourist location so understandable. What I didn't like is the mandatory 3.99% added "service" charge, PLUS the "please add another 15% or 20% tip" to your bill, PLUS the "tip jar". Let me start by saying I visited this place for the first time after many years of visiting OBX. Prices of anything were not posted so be prepared for them not to be. For 1 breakfast sandwich (egg, meat & cheese), 8 dry bagels (nothing on them), and 1 dozen donuts, total came to $60, cash (extra 4% credit card convenience charge). Quality of food was very high, line was kind of long but moved. I was able to walk here and it's in the heart of Duck, so I'm paying for convenience and quality. Wish they would have offered strawberry cream cheese, that's a kid favorite. Saw a sign saying bagels were from Lighthouse Bagels so if that's the case, it saved me 20 mile round trip drive. Taking all of this into account, I'm glad I stopped by. read more

Delicious birthday cake for my three grandson's birthday celebration. Wanted something resembling tye-dye. Was told they had not done it before but could do an ombré type effect. I agreed. I got a call a few days in advance to go over the order. They made great suggestions that saved me some money. When I picked it up I couldn't have been happier. The point of our multiple family reviews, and what started this is mess was your employee taking the order, said "yes" to the specific question, "can you decorate the cake with fireworks?" No matter what she ended up writing on the ticket. Nobody expected airbrushing. A quick search of google images showed us how to draw simple fireworks with colored icing, which is what we did in the hour of time we had left to make the cake look decent. Dawn absolutely said to me, "We dont have time for that (fireworks), do you know how many cakes we are putting out there each day" This clearly shows that your family owned busisness would rather focus on making money rather than costumer service. read more

The man who seemed to be the one preparing food on the right side of the store has his nose fully uncovered and therefore exposed while handling the food despite the mandate for face coverings on both the mouth and nose. Food was good but not worth potential exposure due to an employees negligence. Before going I read the reviews and I had a way different experience than the person who said the workers are rude. The woman who took my order and rang me up was so sweet! They are taking Covid seriously which I appreciate. I had a wheat everything bagel and veggie cream cheese which was so fresh and delicious. This is high praise coming from a New Yorker! I've been coming down to the OBX for over 15 years and this bakery is by far the worst restaurant/food establishment in Duck An older gentleman who I assume is a manager here is extremely rude and has absolutely no customer service mentality at all. On top of that the couple times I've tried desserts from here they've been stale and very dry. The food here needs a lot of work, but the reason behind my rating is how rude this gentleman is. We were planning on trying Duck Donuts but they were closed and we saw this place. Glad we did. My husband got the cheese cinnabun and said it was amazing. I got a glazed donut and it's the best I've had. Coffee is strong. He got French toast and I got a Java chip frappe. Very good. We have an apple and cherry turnover for later. One of the best bakeries I've ever been to! EVERYTHING they have is stellar. From breakfast to dessert items, Tullio's got it all! Some of my favorites were the French toast bagel, cheese cinnamon bun, and made-to-order cannoli donut (just ask for it, and they'll make it for you). First time in the outer banks so ofcourse I wanted to look for a good bakery! Found this place online and after perusing their website I decided that I wanted the creme brulee bread pudding. Went there but that didn't have it! This happened twice! First time I decided that I'm going to try the chocolate fantasy which turned out to be DELICIOUS! Had it again the second time I went there but this time I actually ordered the bread puddings. I picked them up the following day and also got a chocolate crumble cake slice. The bread pudding was good when warmed up but I feel like it should have had some caramel sauce on top! Be warned though, it's not your typical wet bread pudding. It's firm, not soggy and it's shaped like a mini bundt. I'll try making my own caramel sauce for it! Hubby loved the crumble cake, I liked the actual chocolate cake part If like me, you're obsessed with having the bread pudding I would recommend ordering it so you're not disappointed! read more
