The person working behind the counter was all alone on a Saturday evening but incredibly efficient…read more- I hope she gets paid well. The prices are high and I found the ice-cream (coconut chocolate chip) to be too sweet - as though it had coconut extract rather than coconut flakes. We also got some of their craft chocolate and it's amazing but was $18 for just 4 pieces - one was a piece of almond bark that was larger than I realized but I still had sticker shock. It's in a great little area of Manteo though.

Warning, the board of health should visit this place ASAP. They used the same dirty scooper that…read morethey used to scoop ice cream with fruit for a non fruit ice cream. One of the people in our party is allergic to fruit. The ice cream tasted funny and they immediately began to swell up. Upon looking at the ice cream more closely you could literally see residue from another ice cream that clearly had fruit that caused the allergy. When we notified the employee we were told very rudely, "there are signs that say no refunds and warnings about allergies" . We finally at least got her to replace a fresh scoop, which the person didn't eat. This was not a good allergy that the person gets (or got) from being in the presence of something, this was residual from the scooper that was reused and not cleaned in the ice cream purchased. All that for $38 for three ice creams also. Do yourself a favor and go across the street to Lollypops for good service and a safer experience!

We dined here for lunch and there was a line almost out the front door at 12:45pm. You place your order and pay at the counter then get your beverage and then find a seat and someone will bring out your order. The order number is on the receipt so hang onto it at least until your order arrives. In spite of how busy the restaurant was, we managed to find an open table inside. There are also some tables outside in back. It was a bit chilly when we were there so we stayed in. One of the daily specials was the club which I ordered on rye with potato salad. My wife got the chicken Caesar wrap with macaroni salad. Both were very good and a good value.

The restaurant has a fun, laid-back atmosphere, and they were getting ready for live music while we were there. We were dining with our young daughter, and once the band had finished setting up, we got the impression they were gently encouraging us to wrap things up. No one was rude about it, but it definitely felt like they preferred not to have a family with a little one there once the music got underway. My husband ordered a burger that he polished off and described simply as, "Good." Coming from him, that's actually a solid endorsement. I ordered the Cuban Reuben. The flavors were good, but I was surprised to find it served on what appeared to be a flour tortilla rather than the flatbread described on the menu. It ended up eating more like a wrap than a sandwich. I still enjoyed it, but it wasn't what I was expecting. I had ordered fries with my meal but received chips instead. I never checked the receipt to see whether I was charged for the upgrade, but it ended up working out just fine. My husband was convinced they were just really good Lay's chips. I disagreed. We still haven't settled that debate, but we both agreed they were fresh, crunchy, and delicious. My daughter ordered the grilled cheese, and after spending the week on an unofficial Outer Banks grilled cheese tour (because toddlers have priorities), this one landed somewhere around a 5/10. Overall, it was a pleasant meal with a great atmosphere, and I can absolutely see it being a fun place to grab a drink and listen to live music. It just wasn't one of the standout meals from our trip.
