Spent 2 hours in this place waiting for my wife to get a French tip done, the first lady filed her nails so uneven that they all had different angles. After an hour of trying to get an almond shape, she moved onto trying the white tip, and this is where things went downhill. Tina couldn't get the shape thin enough after 10 tries on my wife's pinky and we asked if they had someone there who could do a French tip. She shook her head like they are all inexperienced at doing nails correctly. I listened to my wife scream about how f-ed up her nails are and how even down to the color of the bubble bath pink Tina put on has one coat on her left hand and 2 on her right hand. 2 hours of hell, we aren't coming back.

Vivi was the best! She made a great suggestion and it turned out perfect! Super clean and the rest of the staff were friendly and inviting.

They did not help us put our shoes back on when they were done. Their tools were not sterilized either. It's so hard to find nice nail salons and we stumbled upon this one, would NOT recommend. $128 for two mani/pedi one with gel.

I've been coming here for 6 years! All the staff are kind, the owners are wonderful, and it's a relaxing and casual atmosphere. They have every color and nail art you could ever think of. Tulip has customers wash their hands before starting the service and choosing a color and this definitely keeps everything very clean. I've only ever had a positive experiences here and wouldn't go any where else. Today Tammy did a GelX set for me and Eric did an amazing pedicure. Thank you so much Tulip Nails II

DISCLAIMER: I've seen Thuy (Lynn) twice for gelX fills with exceptional work 10/10. The facility is spacious, clean, and offer plenty of services with amazing technicians 10/10. This review is specifically for Kim and detail design. I provided pictures below of my inspo pic + what I received. First, I asked for Lynn and was told "yes Lynn could do your GelX fill". I got Kim for the first time. I showed her my design and she said she could do that. After trial and error with the black tips a few times and asking her to fill in the spots that were transparent I gave up after a certain amount of time. If it's a blocked color I'm sure it'd be fine but for design I wouldn't recommend. I just wish if the design couldnt be done properly please tell the client. I know black can be hard to do clean lines on, but I'd rather wait for someone who knows how to do a clean design than pay for uneven lines and patchy black polish.

I just spent close to $100 on biogel mani and regular pedi. It's not good. The nails are bumpy. And the mani was very very uncomfortable. Painful. Too much cutting and the light burned. The filing with the drill burned. Ugh. I just hated it. Not relaxing. And I hate when they try to do oh nails and I can't relax for pedi. Not a great experience for me. And the pedi. Is sloppy. Needs a top coat. I want the big toes to be perfect. And not messy. Also, I'm sure I'll go back. Lol. Because it's my neighborhood salon and the people are so nice.

The one star is ONLY for the gentleman that did the pedicure portion of my 47$pedicure apart from the basic 14$ manicure. I tipped graciously, because that's me. Stupid? Yes, maybe.......... Anyway, I was rushed through and asked to pay within 2 minutes into my service. I expressed my irritation with being tild to pay , then told extra for a cc and only cash tips allowed. PUT A SIGN BEFORE ENTERING....... I'd walk away or be prepared and not be treated poorly immediately after not having cash Or Venmo or wanting to pay soon after sitting!!!! Owner wasn't there

Mostly shy from reviews but want to do this for Lynn at Tulip. Love her for all the care and always getting it right for me. She spends good time and effort to make sure that she helps me achieve the desire manicure. My bio gel lasts long and always come back happy.

The lady that did my nails made them waaaay to thick and way too wide and 3 of them are crooked.. I kept trying to tell her and she would just say no. She made my fingers bleed. My sister was having none of it....someone else "helped "but only one finger and it is lumpy. The lady was MAD. I will never go back there when I come to see my family. read more

I absolutely hate my acrylics. Way too thick and sloppy and the gentlemen doing them barely acknowledged me now I have to go on vacation with my nails looking like this. Also no cuticle oil Update--I called and asked for a refund and they offered for me to come back and they'd fix it, but I didn't have time so then they offered 50% off my next service, however I don't wish to go back there. I wish a refund could've been given. read more

I've been going there since they opened over 20 years. I have acrylic nails and I always get a regular manicure because of my cuticles and that's about all they do in the regular manicure anyway I had to feel and it was thick and they were lifting at the time. I spoke to Lynn about it right after she did, my nails. She is one of the owners and she pretty much blew me off. Came in about a week later I talked to Tami, her sister. Tami offered to redo it for $20 but I don't think I should pay after paying so much money and being unsatisfied at the time. I shouldn't have paid them at the time and made them do it over. I'm not going back and they lost a loyal over two decades customer. read more

I have been coming here for years. In October I got a Pedicure and even though I didn't have gel on my nails the lady proceeded to Dremel my nails. I stopped her and asked why she was doing that and she said she was taking my polish off and smoothing out my nails. Well my little toe nail was so thin it came off in a few days and my big toe nail that she dremeled is so thin it will not grow and is jagged and thin. Not sure why they have to Dremel the nails if there is no gel on them, but they have ruined my nails. I called Richard to inform him of what was going on, but todate no response. My little toe nail came off on Thanksgiving and it still hasn't grown back. Please inform your people not to Dremel natural nails. read more

The worst manicure I've ever had. And the pedicure wasn't much better. My toe nail split down the middle. I had a gel manicure that split my nails within a week. Then went back for acrylic nails and they weren't even applied right. Lots of glue to fill between acrylic nail and natural nail. The worst! Don't go there! read more

Ok, 2 days ago I had a really bad experience with the person that did my nails they looked awful. And I left without saying anything. After I cool down I decided to go back and show the manager my nails. He immediately sat me down with one of his best technicians. Well at least I think she's the best. And she fixed everything I can't even believe my nails look like The ones I see on Instagram. I'm so happy and I am so thankful that they turn this experience around for me. They really do go out of their way to make it right. read more

i've been a loyal customer since 2021, usually satisfied with the sets i get. today i came in for an acrylic fill, no gel ($38 on their website). my lady not only hurt me multiple times while drilling and filing my nails, but then charged me $80 initially. i was expecting to pay no more than $50-60, because i also got chrome (extra $10). so when i asked why $80, she said because of the chrome (which i expected), the french tip (which i have NEVER been charged for) and for the length (which i ALSO have never been charged for). she also said something about enhancing or deluxe something, which i had no idea she was doing to my nails, therefore adding to the total cost. i told her that i've never been charged for french tip or length at this salon, so she took $5 off. even so, $75 for a mediocre (at best) set is INSANE and it's safe to say i will NEVER be going back. she did me so dirty with the cost, the nails aren't even that well done, she hurt my nails and cuticles, and to top it all off was rude. never going back. read more

Didn't do a good job on my nails at all. My nails were barely filed and not filed evenly. Also my cuticles weren't cleaned up (see photos) taken immediately after service, got oils on my clothes, the "hot towels" is them wiping the lotion of with them. I thought I would at least get the sensation of relaxing with a hot towel wrapped around my legs but nope. And the "massage" is them lightly rubbing lotion on you. No massage. Also didn't receive the gel polish I asked for due to language barrier. Would not recommend and won't be returning. read more

I have been coming to see Richard the past 2 years and cannot imagine going anywhere else! He takes his time and doesn't try to rush you out. My nails always look amazing. Richard and his wife are so friendly and make it such a pleasant place to get your nails done. Highly recommend! read more

I do not recommend this salon. Nail tech displayed sloppy workmanship and lacked attention to detail. I selected a pink nail color to replace the black polish I currently had on my toes. She didn't remove the black polish entirely and proceeded to paint pink gel on top. After I left, I noticed several toes looked dingy. Returned to the salon, the manager offered to correct the mistake but I didn't have time for a re-do. I requested a refund and will not be returning. Disappointing as this salon is minutes from my house and I love pedicures this time of year. read more

The service was fast my feet look horrible my nails horrible and I tipped them both over 40% and they didn't seem happy with that. So I won't be going back. I will find somebody else to take my money. read more

Bare minimum pedicure. It's $30 for the basic pedicure. The nail technician was nice but barely spent any time on my pedicure (15min total). She hardly cleaned around my nails and basically just rubbed the lotion on my legs rather than a massage. The nail file she used looked old and she even saved her gloves to reuse? At the end, she asked me twice about a tip since tips are cash only. My pedicure looks fine but the experience was below average. read more

I just moved to this neighborhood & wanted to find a local nail salon. Luckily, I noticed Tulip nails when I was next door at Five 07 Cafe over the weekend. I called Tulip today (a little late ~6:20pm) to see when they closed and when they take their final appointment. They were happy to take me around 6:30. Kim was my manicurist and I was able to find the exact color dip powder I wanted (they have SOO many to choose from- my favorites are the Kiara Sky light pink colors). I chose #524 (Chit Chat- a light white / pink color). Kim was very friendly, paid attention to detail and did a great job on my nails! She told me she has been employed there since the salon opened in 2000. In my opinion, that's rare to find seeing as many nail salons seem to have a high employee turn over rate. I was happily surprised that they include cleaning up the cuticles with all manicures, including the dip powder manicures (without adding an extra $5+ onto your total like many other local salons)! Sometimes, at the end of the day as a last appointment/ customer, I have experienced some salons rushing to do your nails so they can leave, but I didn't get that feeling from any of the employees at this salon. The owner was very friendly and thanked me for coming to their salon. I will definitely be back & am happy giving my business to their salon! read more

Tulip nails is a nail salon tucked in the corner of Oakbrook Plaza and next to Five07 (Which is another MUST TRY!). My mother and I have been long time supporters and fans of tulips, and it's for a good reason. Despite being a clean and tidy salon itself, the people who do your nails always take time and precision to make sure that your nails turn out perfect just the way YOU want. My mom is a regular of Vivi, who always does her manicure and pedicure. Vivi picks a fun color for my mom every time she comes, and her choices always rock! My mom leaves the salon with the most chic and stylish nails. I myself am an acrylic wearer. I have only ever gotten my acrylics done at tulips. I always request Ming to fo my fill as he is extremely precise and pretty much always copies the photo of the nails I show him. Tulip nails is the place to get your nails done in the Thousand Oaks area. They will not disappoint. read more

I am obsessed with my nails. I wanted an ombré pink and white with a coffin shape, and Kim did a phenomenal job executing. The staff was also very friendly. The owner even inquired about how everything came out when I was leaving. I love going to Tulip because, while there are certainly other customers, it's quiet and relaxing. They're on time, professional, and stand by their pricing. Love and recommend! read more

You need to find your person here and make appointments because all pedicures are not created equal. Been a customer since they opened. I just got the worst pedicure, zero effort, zero detail or trimming cuticles, zero filing as all nails are uneven. Just a mow and blow. read more

This is in the top 3 worst pedicures I have ever recd! sloppy, no attn to detail. place should be spotless. I don't do factory nail salons. if u like the factory vibe and a less then mediocre pedi then this is your jam! The massage was good but super short! Will not return. read more

First time trying out this place! Let me just say best nail place EVER! just from waking in I could tell how popular the establishment was, so many customers! Very clean, the staff have you wash your hands before picking out a color! I had a walk-in and they took me in less than 5 minutes! I showed them the nails that I wanted and they did not disappoint! If you ever go, ask for Jenny she was amazing! Definitely gonna be my go to nail place from now on! read more

I was seated immediately on one of the most comfortable massage chairs, and I was in and out of there in 30 minutes with the best service (which is the fastest and most efficient nail experience I've ever had!). I got a gel manicure and a gel pedicure -- and I was treated so well, and I felt so pampered!! There were so many colors to choose from, and the nail technicians helped me out. Alex said that they've been there for 5 years, and the other client sitting next to me also said she's been a loyal customer since the start of their opening. I saw Alex greet people by name and go around to make sure everyone was comfortable. I am going on a trip tomorrow and decided I wanted to pay to get them professionally done for the occasion to treat myself. This was a very good reminder of why I do them myself now... The nail tech was nice and worked quickly... too quickly. They didn't trim my cuticles or the skin around my nails. I asked for an ombré nail design, which is shown on their menu and provided a picture of the exact colors I wanted. Another nail tech came and took my phone to pick colors out and just started painting them on some of my nails before the original tech had even put gel on them. It was very odd... the second tech was rushing the first and was honestly doing a sloppy job. The color ended up being super off.. it was a Christmas tree green instead of a blue- teal color. I don't blame her for that, the bottle looked like a different color than the paint. They were also streaky and completely see-through. She asked if I liked them and I told her those things, and she told me the reference picture was see through too (which it was not-I added the reference) but she still redid them which I appreciated. I picked the new color myself, which matched the reference pic more and also wasn't see-through which was way better. The airbrush was having issues, which I could tell was super frustrating to them which sucks. But they just seemed to not really know how to do it very well. They finished and rushed me out quickly without cleaning any of the gel of my skin. With airbrush they usually wipe the paint off the skin before curing it so this doesn't happen. Now it's been a real pain to try to get off. They also did not clean up the sides of my nails, which were all jagged. I had to do a full nail clean up when I got home. Thankfully I have all the stuff at home to do that. The only reason for 3-stars is that the gel x nails are properly applied and should last. Overall I was not impressed. As a new client who is paying good money (and extra for a nail design) I expect some level of care. Also now knowing how to do a proper gel manicure, it's so obvious when they cut corners and rush (no nail/cuticle prep or clean up, only one layer of paint). And maybe don't offer a service (ombré) if you aren't confident in it or don't have properly working equipment. I wanted to do something nice for myself but ended up having more of a headache in the end, and had to pay my hard earned money for that headache.

Have been a customer for years. It is a treat for my daughter and I to do together. Worst pedicure, service, I will never go back nor never recommend! The man that did my daughters pedicures was so preoccupied with the World Cup and talking on the phone that he actually painted my daughters skin (she had a broken nail that he did not even file ( I did not see until after we left) she is 9 so she would not spoken up and I was too angry by the poor customer service that I did not want to make a scene. he change the polish, washed her feet, did a little lotion and she was done 10 minutes prior to me. I did not think twice cause that is what they did last time and charge me $10.00 and told me the Flower was included last time. They charge me $15.00 for a children's pedicure - which is the same price for a Adult pedicure. They told me that it was the same price. I did not pay that 3 weeks ago and the lady in the front proceeded to tell me that I must have just gotten a polish change for my daughter last time. Will never go back! read more

I dont usually do yelp reviews but this will be an exception. As i kept searching for best manicurist in years in this area Thousand Oaks. I have to say Jenny does the best nails, especially with gel nails and design. Im generally very picky when it comes to nails and hair but Jenny paid attention very detail to give me the best gel nails i ever had. My nails always all even, shiny, clean and close to the cuticle, which i noticed there are not many manicurist can do that well. If you are new to this area or trying to find a good nails salon. I highly recommend Jenny. Tip: call to make appointment or else you have to wait for her for a long time (but it worths it) or you have yo come back the other day. Bring picture of what you want her to draw. She almost can do anything. read more

Best nail salon in Conejo Valley! The owner, Richard is wonderful.... genuine, sweet and always remembers the clients names. All the nail techs are great! Henry is my go-to guy for the best spa pedicure. Jenny is the super artist of the bunch and can recreate just about any design you want. Prices are reasonable, everyone is friendly and the nail spa is clean & nice. After reading through the yelp reviews I honestly don't know what's up with some of these people and their negative reviews.... Always loved this place. Especially the owners, they are amazing people, but had my nails done by Anna and she seemed already irritated by having to do my nails. She filed one of my nails raw to the point where there was nothing left, but raw pink tissue. She tried to file it again!! But stopped when I pulled my hand away saying it really hurt. Within 3 days my gel manicure has already started to chip and peel off. A lot of money for a painful, bad manicure. read more

Yikes, this place is really bad. The guy who did my nails was rough and rude. There are staff members eating right next to people getting pedicures. There are also employee kids running around touching all the instruments. The place is dirty and dingy. I'm can't believe the board of health has not shut them down!
