Absolutely horrible all around experience. I wouldn't cremate roadkill I ran over here. Before my brother even arrived to their facility, I informed them there was a baseball hat I wanted. It was in all the paperwork, I spoke to the coroner and the tulip staff members informing them of this extremely important item I wanted. Everyone was in the same page. A few days later I get the call he is ready to be picked up. I ring the doorbell and this lady answers and I come in. She then says she will get the urn several times, saying urn over and over "not my brother" which I would have appreciated or just not urn. She then comes out and stands there with a gift bag stuffed with bright decorative colors and hands his over to me smiling. I ask where is the hat? She says she doesn't know and acts like it's not her problem. She informs me there's a metal tag that was burned with my brother and that's how they identify people after. I get home and email Travis. Who simply says that the hat was cremated with the body and we're sorry.... That's it!! I'm so glad it's not a member of their family, so they don't have to experience the pain and sorrow that I am in due to all of this traumatic experience. I then want to transfer the ashes to a better urn, the "urn" they give you is a black plastic box I wouldn't put anything of value in - it is not very sturdy or well constructed. The lid does not close properly. The bag the ashes are in are less quality than a ziploc bag, which I had to transfer my brothers ashes to because their bag had a hole in it. There were ashes everywhere. I see the metal tag she informed me about. It is new, not burnt at all, which I do not understand and am a little let down by once again. On the front of the box it says the date and there is a cremated body of the name of the person. What a horrible and unprofessional and traumatic experience. Unfortunately my other brother just passed away and we got him cremated in another state. A totally different experience. They were so accommodating and caring and understanding. Please don't use these people. They have no respect for your loved one or any of your wishes. You will be handed what seems like a birthday present all wrapped up in their horrid gift bags if you do and trust me I still haven't recovered from this. read more
