Buyer Beware! I lost $4,172 from what I consider to be a very unethical business named Tule Peak Timber. I took the owner to Superior Court, where the judge explained that the statute of limitations ended after four years. This gets very confusing, because I had read legal documents that said that I had up to six years to file. It is also confusing because the statute of limitations for businesses differs depending on whether the judge determines the case to be a contractual breach, negligence, fraud, etc. All I can say is that time goes fast when you wait 14 months for my first set of slabs to cure and be ready to begin work (on my desk) and then wait an additional 7 months for the second set of slabs to cure before work could resume again. (See Photo(s) Regarding Case Filed on July 5, 2023 with Superior Court of California, County of Riverside). I felt that I had an extremely strong case with multiple photos, and very precise and detailed documentation. In the end I got nothing, zero, not even one ounce of my wood slabs. The owner of Tule Peak Timber stated in court that after emailing me, and after not being to come to an agreement regarding how to complete the legs and top of my desk, he at some point left the wood he cut from my slabs outside at his place of business, Tule Peak Timber, where the cut wood (from my slabs) basically decomposed in nature and were eventually hauled off. I have dealt with unethical businesses in the past, however, my experience with Tule Peak Timber goes to a completely different level of dishonesty and lack of moral character. Looking back, I would strongly recommend going to a place like GL Veneer in Los Angeles, etc. or any other place other than Tule Peak Timber, because Tule Peak Timber is absolutely the most immoral, shady, dishonest, and unscrupulous business I have personally ever dealt with, bar none. I do not want anyone to experience anything similar to what I have with Tule Peak Timber, therefore, If you are even considering purchasing wood slabs or doing work with Tule Peak Timber I would recommend that you take a look at my photos (attached) so that you have more information to make an informed decision. read more
