It had been 10 years since my last Fog Coat and while it still looked good in most areas, I live in Laguna Beach and the South facing side of my house get's 100% sun all day long, all four seasons. With the intense sun and high moisture many overnights, the stucco color can take a beating. It actually didn't really look that bad, which explains why I went for Fog Coating again, it just needed a refresher. I want to commend the Fog Coat team. Tom, the owner, is very easy to work with and trusting to do a great job. While the project started in the second week of December, anyone is Southern California knows that doesn't mean the weather is always good. The week before we had significant rain and then the week my project started it was more like a heat wave. Due to the intense sun and I have some very large exterior walls, it was a bit of a challenge to get all the matching correct, but Hector and Jacob did an excellent job. A couple of other days the morning was so wet it was like it rained that morning, but it was just the thick fog. One of those days the fog never lifted, but the team was able to work through the challenge and completed the project with my full and complete satisfaction. I am extremely happy with the job the team did. Thank you Tom and team for the great work! read more

We are absolutely delighted with the work Fog Coat Corporation did for our home. We actually learned of Fog Coat Corp. and the owner, Tom Potter, through La Habra Stucco/Parex, a major stucco supply company and manufacturer of the stucco used during our house remodel 10 years ago. I had called La Habra/Parex after another contractor had used their fog coat product and turned our walls into blotchy messes while making repairs to our stucco and trying to color match the existing walls. I asked for a referral since we were having difficulty finding a skilled contractor able and willing to do the relatively small job of fog coating over our stucco, and they gave us one referral: Tom Potter and Fog Coat Corp. It turns out Tom was instrumental 20 years ago in helping La Habra Stucco when they were testing their Allegro acrylic fog coat that we used this time around. We even noticed the response time for stucco color samples from La Habra Stucco was faster because we were working with Tom. Tom, the owner, was obviously very knowledgeable about both the process and the product, and patiently worked with us to ensure we got the custom color we wanted before they started the work. As another Yelp poster mentioned, it's absolutely essential that you take the time to get color samples and the color you want BEFORE you start the job - and even then you never really know when trying to match custom colors. After the job was completed, we found the color match with our other walls was perfect and the discolored blotches almost completely eliminated. We had some concerns that the acrylic coating would noticeably change the texture of our fine 20/30 stucco, but it looks great. And, we really appreciate that our newly painted white trim, eaves, windows and doors as well as plants and patio were completely protected due to the care Hector and crew took with their detailed prep work. We are picky people but honestly couldn't be happier, and our house looks refreshed - better than it has in several years. Thank you, Tom and crew! read more

Our HOA contracted Fog Coat to do the exterior painting of all the buildings in our housing community. We also used Fog Coat to paint our interior patio walls. First, they did an excellent job. Second, they are polite and professional. Heather in the office always returns calls and answers questions very timely. And the crew is great - nice people with a positive attitude. read more

Unfortunate! Don't hire them for any stucco repair. The employees are not skilled but what's worse is the demeanor of the owner. When they came close to finishing my $7,450 project, I mentioned some things that didn't look right such as the texture didn't match where they patched. In fact, it looked like someone had played tic tac toe on my house. The owner Tom, tried bullying me into settling. What's sad is that he doesn't know how to communicate, he yells and he isn't accountable for his actions. As a business owner, when your staff screws up, you acknowledge the mistakes and offer to fix the problem. You shouldn't yell in denial of the obvious. I gave him 4 months to remedy the situation and we encountered further problems such as the stucco color that he ordered wasn't a match. He was furious that I mentioned the obvious ( his staff was even confirming that it didn't match and that my house needed to be fog coated again to blend the new texture properly ). Tom left my house storming and wailing his arms in a temper tantrum. His behavior was so shocking! They also trampled my plants. read more

We highly recommend Fog Coat Corporation. All homes after several years require some care such as painting. I found that painting the exterior structure of a 'stucco' home is not necessarily a good idea. Painting, particularly with the wrong paint, can inhibit the stucco from breathing, trap moisture in walls, and cause mold. But I found an alternative called fog coating which is a mixture of cement and colorant sprayed on the stucco. I also found that it is more cost effective than normal painting. I than I took a chance and contracted with Fog Coat Corporation of Wildomar, CA, who have been in business for over 25 years. The owner, Tom Potter, came to our home, assessed the work to be done, and welcomed our input. Their contract outlined specifically what they would and would not do, plus our responsibility. We established a start date which slipped by one week for delay in getting some materials, but they kept us advised of progress. The workers were superb in power washing, masking of windows and doors, fog coating the stucco with 2 coats, painting the trim and garage door, and cleanup. They were courteous and met all deadlines and promises as listed in the contract. The owner Tom Potter and Heather in the office are very professional. My wife (Letrice) and I (Bob) are very pleased with the results, and highly recommend Fog Coat Corporation. ____My only suggestion is to be sure of your color selection, get samples and if possible view other homes they have fog coated before locking in on the colors. read more
