Surface Saviors - Excellent Resurfacing!…read more We were initially introduced to Josh at Surface Saviors by our window replacement contractor to repair a crack in a newly installed vinyl window. Josh arrived fully prepared and expertly repaired the crack so seamlessly that it is now completely undetectable. We were incredibly impressed with his work! Fast forward to our next opportunity to work with Josh. We had installed white oak thresholds at a set of French doors and wanted them artistically customized to better complement our existing French oak flooring. We reached out to Josh, who responded promptly and quickly confirmed that this was a project he could handle. Scheduling was easy, and he kept us well informed leading up to his arrival. As before, he showed up with all the necessary materials and got right to work. It was amazing to watch him transform a plain piece of white oak into a beautiful, custom-finished threshold that complements our flooring perfectly. His attention to detail and artistry truly impressed us! Josh is clearly a master of his craft, with an exceptional talent for repairing and refinishing surfaces, including window frames, floors, cabinets, sinks, tubs, showers, and more. Beyond his outstanding workmanship, he is a pleasure to work with--professional, communicative, friendly, and reliable. We highly recommend Josh and Surface Saviors to anyone looking for exceptional craftsmanship and beautiful results. We wouldn't hesitate to call him again!

Items that seem like they cannot be refinished or made new again, can be and will be made to look brand new. Items we have had worked on with results beyond our expectations: 1. Wooden picture frame that we wanted to be changed into a darker color to match our decor 2. A Chinese wooden flower pot stand that was damaged by water and sun. 3. A decorative wooden stand to be stained a different color. Now we don't even hesitate to think of any furniture or household item/decor that needs refinishing because we know Josh can do it. Imagine all the people who get rid of their items when they think it cannot be fixed or it is ruined, they are wrong. They just have not met Josh. I never thought that I could find someone with Josh's skills and passion for his craft off Yelp. When you contact him and have anything in your home to be worked on and you are amazed, come back to this review and remember what I wrote. I REFUSE to just give 5 stars if not well earned. This one is absolutely well earned and deserved.

If any of you looking at this are in that same boat, I am here to tell you that you came to the right place and to the right people. I think the results speak for themselves. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are top notch, and the built ins are an amazing compliment to the room. I couldn't be happier with the process or the final product!

I found Fine Wood Finishers through social media while following a different account of a stair…read morebuilder. When looking for contractors to build the stairs, I noticed the same stair builder was always posting about Fine Wood Finishers. Let me make something very clear to everyone reading this, I work for a large commericial union paint company. Even though we are great painters, we do not do any sort of staining or "finishing" of stair cases as we don't do single family residential projects. I reached out via social media to Fine Wood Finishers and received a very quick response from them. After messaging back and forth, we finally just exchanged phone numbers and discussed the project in length. Trust slowly being achieved. Of course the biggest concern I had was trusting someone with a brand new stair case. Good woodwork can turn to garbage if the finish is poorly applied. I also struggled with trusting the oak treads and rail could be color matched to the faux finish of the LVP flooring. Bryan came to my house to pick up a piece of LVP floor and some scrap treads to begin color matching. We signed the proposal and a within a few days Bryan and crew mobilized to my house and began the prep work. They seemed to have applied 4+ coats of pigmented clear coat to get the color to our liking. At this point we had trust in Bryan. Work began in October 2024. What really impressed me was how they used small pinpoint brushes to apply dark tint to each of the nail heads that were filled with puddy. Once the color was achieved the next step was applying the white finish to the risers, stringer and wainscot paneling. Bryan did most if not all the spraying himself. Multiple coats of primer and at least 2 coats of finish. Last step was caulking all the joints. As I write this review today September 10, 2025, I can confirm the quality of the finish is as good today as it was on day #1. The products used are top notch and the application was excellent. I am so happy every time I go up and down the stairs knowing the investment I made in Fine Wood Finishers was well worth every dollar. The stairs are the first thing people see when they enter my house, and I couldn't be happier when I receive compliments from guests. Bryan and his crew proved they could be trusted.
