    California Burrito
    Dan H.

This place is a gem! We were in town recently for the weekend and were looking for a quick, low key spot to beat the crowd on a Saturday evening. When you walk in, the counter is to your right and you order at the counter. We ordered, got our drink from the cooler and waited for them to call our number. I was impressed waiting at how robust their carry out business is, lots and lots of people waiting to take their food elsewhere. I also noticed that they had a refrigerator with house made salsas that the carry out business seemed to be filling lots of little cups up with. As I glanced around at other tables, I noticed that they had squeeze bottles of the sauces on their tables too. I went over and grabbed one of each, a crema, an avocado cream sauce, a mild salsa verde and a bottle of hot. After about ten minutes they called our number. It was just my son and I, he is really picky, so he just got chips and queso and rice, I ordered the California burrito with steak. I was actually worried before the food came out that I didn't order enough, but the burrito was huge, and super good! The steak was nicely cut up, the burrito was toasted, and stuffed with fries, steak, rice, cheese tomato, cilantro and crema. Holy smokes, it was delicious! I alternated sauce on each bite, the hot has a little heat for sure, and was probably my favorite, though I really liked the avocado sauce too. All in all, simply delicious, and I wish we were in town another day so I could have went back and tried more. Next time I am in town we will definitely be back!

I moved to a different part of town so sadly don't make it here as much, but I'm happy to report this hidden gem is still slinging wonderful street tacos. $2 each for the basic ones, 3 with a bottle of coke came to about $10, tough prices to beat at a stand alone restaurant. If you sign up for their mailing list, they will often do 10% off coupons.

This place is a godsend because you can get authentic-tasting Mexican food without needing to dine anywhere. They do have an area inside to dine in but I think people mostly carry out. I have been coming here since their opening and the food quality has been exceptional ever since. One thing that changed was that they used to include sauces on the side, but now there is a communal fridge to pour the sauces yourself, which is a little too unsanitary for me. It also adds unnecessary time if I'm trying to quickly grab my order and go. If you are dining inside, the food takes around 20 minutes to make. The prices are also fantastic in my opinion. This will always be my go-to authentic Mexican spot.

Tula is amazing! The adobada street tacos are my absolutely favorite! The cucumber and radishes are such a great crunch. The hot salsa has a fantastic flavor and the avocado salsa and crema are must-haves. My new and current favorite is the chicken taquitos. They are crispy and flavorful! The owners and staff are super great. I'm so thankful they made it through the pandemic! They have renovated and the decor is really vibrant! There's less seating now because the entire kitchen area is enclosed after the renovations. But there's still enough room for a medium to large group, depending on the time of day and day of the week. Closed on Mondays.

Overall the food was good and it was fast service. The prices are great! I ordered a carne asada taco and an al pastor taco with a side of rice.

This place is charming! The food is authentic and the atmosphere is open, airy, with murals in the walls. There was an adorable sweatshirt, which I imagine is for sale, but I didn't see any details.

My friend loves coming here for burritos! We ordered our burritos online then went in to pick it up. Not many people dining in, mostly folks who also called in for pick up. My friend got the California burrito, which has protein of your choose, fries, pico, cheese, avocado, and sour cream. I ordered the standard burrito which was rice, beans, lettuce, tomato, cheese, hold the sour cream. I chose chicken tinga, I think? Not gonna lie, the burritos were bland...you could choose salsas, so we both got mild and the hottest option. They gave the burritos ten times more flavor than without. The hot salsa was the best! I'd get that again. We also shared churros. You could get it with caramel or chocolate, so we got chocolate. So so good! Food is a good price though. And I was pretty stuffed. I ate half and ate the other half the next day. Wouldn't mind coming back for the churros and that salsa!!

Thank you yelp! The other reviews I read about this place steered me here for a first time visit. I recommend this place for its clean indoor area, tasty food, and excellent service ordering and getting my take out and helping me out with all of the salsas when I mentioned it was my first time in. Ordered: 2 barbacoa and 2 pastor street tacos; 3 pack of taquitos; and California fries with my choice of protein being chorizo. The fries would be also good with the barbacoa or pastor. Everything was delicious and something I would order again. Will definitely be back and ready to try other items. Thanks Tula Taqueria. Mucho gusto.

Hidden gem and well worth a stop anytime. The prices are very reasonable and the food is delicious. The quesarito with Barbacoa is a personal favorite!

Absolutely love Tula! I always try to come here whenever Mexican food is suggested. The vibe is very hidden gem, but I know and hope Tula gets more and more recognized every year. They were featured on Columbus Underground back in March this year! They deserve the attention. Their prices are reasonable, service is always really pleasant, and the food quality is always top notch. Since they opened their doors in 2019, Tula has noticeably become more and more menu efficient; all their options are categorized and easy to read, the menu is easy to read for someone who doesn't know Spanish and their descriptions are straight forward. As for their food, you can't go wrong with anything off their menu. I love pairing a barbacoa (slow cooked shredded beef - best protein choice on literally everything) bowl with a street taco or two. Some days I'll switch it up and order the California Burrito (stuffed with fries instead of rice), which is one of their popular items and for a good reason. I suggest finishing the meal off with their churros with caramel on the side.

This is one of my favorite taco spots in Columbus. My favorite thing to order is the street tacos. The barbacoa and al pastor street tacos are delicious and a must try. I love that the tacos come with lots of limes and you can choose from a variety of sauces that are included with the tacos. I love hot sauce and every one of the sauces are a great addition to the tacos/bowls/ really anything you order. You order from a counter and then they will call your number when the food is ready. We waited about 5 minutes for our food to be ready. There are plenty of indoor seating options, and I noticed a lot of people coming in to place to go orders as well.

The name has changed to Señor Antonio's. Although the menu remains, if you go looking for Tula, you won't find it as the sign has changed.

This was one of my introductions to real Mexican food, many years ago, and one of the reasons I fell in love with food trucks before you all did (and before hipsters sort of ruined food trucks and jacked up the prices). The prices here are still low, and the quality is still great, but not the life changing food I used to remember from here. Is that because my tastes expanded, adapted, I found many more great Mexican places? Or did they change owners or get less good? Either way I still love eating here. Not to be confused with Taco Nazi, which closed down in Berlin in 1945 and hopefully will never reopen again even though for 4 years or so Trump was trying to get it back in business. So I used to come here for the gorditas and I was completely in love, they were the best I ever had. These days there's Gorditas Santiago in Chicago and I can't remember any other Gordita being that good as Nazo used to be. Nobody could make tacos and gorditas like these guys, and they were just so good, so it was hard to put into words how delicious these products were. Not to be confused with Taco Napster, which illegally took tacos from other places and handed them to you, never making their own. But only Lars "Taco King" Ulrich had an issue with that, greedy f***. Over the years things changed somewhat, and it might even have gotten new owners (not sure), but I'm not sure. As I said - unsure. The menu is still the same, but I don't enjoy the products as much as I used to. I might have given it 4/5 based on my last 2 experiences here, but the first dozen were life changing so I'll give it 5 for the memories and hope that my next visit is back to the stellar level I remember. Not to be confused with "Taco Nasty" which is owned by Janet (Miss Jackson if you're at Taco Nasty). There was a time I would have said this was the best horchata, and some of the best tacos, and the best gordita, that you could get in the whole country. These days I would say it's more like a four-star meal and honestly I had 2-star horchata here rather than the old-days 5/5 horchata, but because of the wonderful memories and the fact that this place helped put Mexican food on the map for me, and I mean the real kind, I will have to give it five stars. Not to be confused with Taco Naptime, which is what happens after you eat any form of real Mexican food. Luckily Los Guachos, which originally was always second best for Mexican in Columbus, but best for Al Pastor Tacos maybe in the country, has maintained its ridiculous standard over the years, so I hope that one of these days when I go back to Taco Nazo it will taste exactly the way I remember and as good as Guachos has continued to be. Now I have to go and "Guach" the election results, but that's "Nazo" bad because Biden is about to be declared the winner. More tacorap now. It's like tacocat, but a rap, and less feline. So no need to be miserable, no need for the SORROW Tacos will cheer you right up, so you don't need to WALLOW I promise that I'll follow back if you give me a FOLLOW And then we'll go for food truck dinner here at TACO NAZO So I can sit right on your lap like I'm in Santa's GROTTO Or I can lean into the rolled down window of your AUTO Or I can bring my Barbi and you'll think you won the LOTTO But the best plan of them all is that we go to TACO NAZO I will bring my Devil's Tower and Barbi'll bring her LAGO You'll find I'm a strict machine, but not like the GESTAPO Barbi's hotter than Ipanema girls, and I'm bigger than SAO PAULO And we'll bring the best food in the world, like TACO NAZO Barbi charges more than I do for her AVOCADO And when she gets Chilly I take her to SANTIAGO Then I make her squeal repeatedly just like VIBRATO Then we're hungry so we hit Columbus' TACO NAZO!
