You've come to the right dealer for your new shed. Just finished the installation of our second Tuff Shed on a concrete slab in the backyard. (Both are 10x12 barn style with a loft). The first is 20 years old and shows no wear and tear. A twin to the new one. Dealing through Home Depot was quick and easy selecting options and all the administrative paperwork. The order passed over to Tuff Shed in San Jose and they contacted me the same day to finalize the contract (all done electronically). Ordered on a Friday, custom painted on Tuesday, and installed Wednesday. Quality, value and workmanship are excellent. The installation crew (Luis and Willber) was fantastic. I can't be more pleased. read more

Tuff Shed used to be a good company, but those days are long gone. I purchased a shed from them 30 years ago and another around 15 years ago. Both of those installs were great, but my recent experience has been worse than a nightmare. I started this process 3 and a half months ago. I needed two new sheds at a new house. The salesman repeatedly delayed my order promising me various free add-ons and discounts. He continually changed his story as well as how and when i could order. I just wanted to get the order placed. I burned a couple of months with his incompetence. I finally decided to order through their call center and the salesman called me to bitch at me. I ended up talking to a couple of local managers who both provided the standard customer service BS. However, when I mentioned to one of them that I ordered two shed previously and it went smoothly, he responded with a comment about customers used to work directly with Tuff Shed and things have changed. I agree, they have definitely changed for the worse. I finally got my order placed and it was an administrative hassle. I paid extra for extended eaves on both sheds. During the install I noticed that on one shed they only extended the eaves on 3 sides not 4. I contacted them and all the responses were essentially that's the way they do it. One local person essentially agreed with me that it was not a great practice to not have an eave above the door, but that's the way the shed is designed, I should have put the door somewhere else. Tuff Shed seems to have a pattern of blaming the customer for their incompetence. I heard it over and over. I offered to pay them more to extend the eave over the door and they would not. Now I have a shed with no roof and I need to tear off the trim and build an extended roof eave myself, then I'll need to install the roof sheathing, drip cap, and shingles. Tuff Shed is providing me lengths of their trim pieces at no charge so I can build an eave and complete their work. read more

One star, and that single star belongs entirely to the two-man install crew, not the company. From start to finish, this was a frustrating and expensive lesson in a company that will not stand behind its own mistakes. We bought a shed, and the DocuSign paperwork they sent had the wrong shed on it. That was their error, not ours. When I caught it and pointed it out, instead of simply correcting it, they refused to make it right and tried to charge me an outrageous restocking fee to fix a mistake I never made. It got worse from there. Because the wrong shed was selected and sent, it did not fit the space when the crew arrived, so the entire installation had to be rescheduled. Since the mistake was 100% theirs, they told me they would absorb the rescheduling fee. Then, when I called to actually book the new install date, they went back on their word and refused to honor it. Through all of it, the office staff were arrogant, rude, and completely unwilling to take responsibility for anything. They made none of it right. The one bright spot was the two guys who did the actual install. They were professional, skilled, and easy to work with, and they did a great job. They deserve better than the company they represent. I would not recommend Tuff Shed to anyone. Do your homework before you hand them a deposit. read more

This pathetic company sent people who do not understand English to our home. Their English was so bad they had to send another -person out to supervise the construction. While they were here, I noticed the truck the drove had expired tags. I notified the "supervisor" and he could not care less. I called the service center and spoke to some clown named Edgar who kept insisting the problem was me. I thought I was going to have work done at our home and we would all be ok. Not so. Non-English speakers at my house (interesting how not knowing English is the fault of the customer), unresponsive phone reps, a non-truth telling, deflecting, "supervisor," and time-wasting conversations all lead me to conclude this company talks a good one but is as corrupt as the day is long. Tuff Shed sux! This dump gets no stars from me. read more

Our experience with Tuff Shed was outstanding from start to finish. Once our old shed was removed and Tuff Shed was notified, the new shed was installed within just a few days. The entire process was seamless, efficient, and exceeded our expectations. A special thank you to Larry Glick, who was exceptional throughout the entire project. Larry guided us every step of the way, offering valuable advice, keeping us informed, and ensuring everything stayed on track. His professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail made the experience stress-free and enjoyable. We couldn't be happier with the quality of our new shed and the level of customer service we received. We highly recommend Tuff Shed to anyone looking for a quality product backed by a team that truly cares about its customers. read more

Order process was straightforward - we preconfigured online, then went to the office in SJ to finalize with Michelle. Make sure you make an appointment as they are pretty busy at times. Install was straightforward incompleted in a half-day. The hardest part for us was finding somebody to remove the old shed, and lay a concrete pad for the new shed. The reason we wanted a new shed and a concrete pad was to eliminate critters living underneath. Very happy with the shed - we even custom painted it to match our house. read more

I needed more space in the garage and a way to tidy up the backyard so I decided we needed a Tuff Shed. I went online to the configurator which was a nice and easy way to customize exactly what I needed. I had the space so decided to extend the length by 2 feet. I was then called by Larry at the store and he was very responsive in making sure I had enough space to work with and scheduling. Not too long afterwards, the crew came and was extremely professional. These guys are the type of folks that clean up after they work and also field all of the annoying questions I throw at them. They also work super fast. The only downside was my own design judgment... I think I customized a snack shack looking shed, haha. read more

This is 2nd time I put a tuff shed in my backyard. I really like the San Jose Store where I can actually see multiple sample shed. I created my own shed design from the options available, with custom colors and dimensions. It turned out perfectly. Larry Glick was extra helpful walking me thru the process. The shed has radiant barrier sheathing on the walls and the roof with premium stud material and flooring. The installation was excellent, built really well on site. Everything is exactly square and the door fits snugly. The installers cleaned the job site perfectly when they were done. read more

After a very easy ordering process, my Tuff Shed was installed. I checked over the shed, and all looked good; however, there was much equipment around the shed (I had Black Diamond Pavers do the leveling---great company, by the way-- and they were returning to put in synthetic grass after the shed was installed, so there was still equipment around), and I did not notice that the shed was off-set; that is, it was not square, like a tilted picture frame on a wall. When the Black Diamond workers arrived to install my synthetic grass, they saw this immediately and told me if they did the grass install, it would make the Crooked placement all the more noticeable. The shed needed to be moved about six inches on one side to make it square. It was obvious to me as soon as they pointed it out. I called the rep, and this is when the problems began. It was obvious she did not want to help. Instead of responding to the problem, she tried to dismiss it. She told me they only had two-man crews (a complete lie as there were 4 or 5 workers here when the shed was installed), and that wasn't enough to move the shed (so send more! sheesh...). Through the entire conversation she was dismissive and uncaring of my issue. No desire to help whatsoever. Finally she said she would report my issue to the company, which I think was just her way of getting rid of me. That was the last communication. Never responded. They had my money, so they just ghosted me. I couldn't delay the work with Black Diamond any longer, so gave they the go-ahead. Just like the Black Diamond workers said, the off-set placement was far more noticeable after the grass install. Bottom Line: I would never do business with this company again, and I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. Once they had my $8k, they were done with me. Don't be fooled: They DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK ! read more

I went into the San Jose store on Memorial Day weekend and Jason was very helpful in helping me design my Tuff Shed. We ended making some minor design changes the following week, Jason was very helpful via email and on the phone. As for the installation, the 3 workers took about 4 hours to install the 8x10 premier lean-to. They did a great job and the shed really blends in with my house. Tuff Shed was running a 50% off deal on add-ons, so I got a good deal on the windows and accent pieces. read more

We were looking for a shed for a while and we decided to go visit TUFF SHED dealership in San Jose. And we are glad we did. We saw a shed on display that we liked. We were helped by Jason McCoy who easily customized our shed to our requirements. He even suggested some great ideas. Jason answered all of our questions showed us what different options we had including the roof pitch. We recommend Jason who was extremely courteous but above all very knowledgeable and listened to all the things we needed with our shed. We bought it on Friday. They delivered it on the following Tuesday morning. It was put together in 4 hours. Fantastic! We couldn't ask for better. We had a great experience with TUFF SHED of San Jose. We came to tuff shed at San Jose, and met with Michele. She went through the details of the purpose and space available for the shed, and gave us great recommendations on what to go with and what to look for. She is very knowledgeable and very patient with us to design the shed to fit into our needs, including where to place the windows, the vent locations and recommended on shingles for the shed. From the moment my wife and I stepped into the sales office in San Jose, we had amazing support and customer service from Larry Glick. He helped us understand how to design the best Tuff Shed for our needs from the design, dimensions, detailed options, all the way to getting it to literally match our home paint and trim. The building was built and delivered in just a couple of weeks. When it was delivered they assembled in like 4 or 5 hours, and it was like a literal one day transformation. It is such a nice look beside our home, and I am confident that if we ever decide to sell our home, it will bring way more value and interest to the property. If you are looking for a quality building that looks amazing, we highly recommend that you set up an appointment with Larry Glick or just stop into their facility and ask for Larry when you arrive. We know you will not be disappointed with his service and the quality of the building that works best for your needs. read more

I have had a frustrating experience dealing with Jose, who has repeatedly insisted that I sign off on the shed installation despite all elements of my order being incomplete or incorrect. It took 4 tries to get the roof constructed correctly, and I had to insist multiple times to get it re-done. Jose has also insisted that what I purchased and requested is not actually what Tuff Shed agreed to provide. Why would I purchase a set of building plans for my shed if the building plans are generic and don't match what was constructed? What value is there in that? Jason was great in helping me design the shed, and put in quite a bit of work helping me. Unfortunately, he has been let down by the rest of his team. read more

Very unhappy with Tuff Shed's lumber, craftsmanship, and customer service. Recently had Tuff Shed install a shed, and due to a wonky middle rafter it resulted in a hump in the ceiling after drywall was installed. Had to rip out the drywall, notch the rafter, and reinstall the drywall. During this process I could not get a return email or phone call from Tuff Shed's customer service, and they went ahead and charged my credit card for the final 10% without resolving the issue with me first. I will not be purchasing through Tuff Shed San Jose again after this experience. read more

I wanted to share my experience with the team at Tuff Shed. After reading reviews online, I stopped by Tuff Shed and spoke with Larry Glick. He was very thorough in describing the sheds, options and he made sure that everything fit within my budget. The installers arrived on time and did a fantastic job. Words simply cannot express my sincere thanks to TuffShed for the whole experience. The name of the company speaks for itself. Every comment I get by neighbors and family is, "Its like a house...only smaller!!" From the very comprehensive and user friendly website that takes you step by step to "build your own design" at the onset ... to the delivery and setup a few weeks later; the whole experience was truly awesome. I have some engineering background. So....as I watched the three hour build I could easily see the 10 x 12 that I ordered was built with very tight tolerances which clearly demonstrates a well oiled machine at the factory where these are prefabricated right down to each wall, door and the final trim! But with any purchase that adds "functionality and beauty" to your home, up front consulting at the sales level has always been most important to me as they have the experience to offer additional suggestions as to which design and model makes best sense for you. With this purchase, we were very fortunate in connecting with Zachary Forbes out of the Canoga Park office. Honestly speaking, Zach made the entire process hassle free. Full explanation of the products, the options, the add-ons, and the Doc-U-Sign paperwork was explained without any shocks or suprises later. Again many thanks to Zach for his knowledge and experience who was always reachable via cell from day one. (To me, that's very important.) Signed, HAPPY GUY IN WINNETKA, CA! Ps. This week I am adding drywall with insulation and equipping it with Wifi and low-voltage LED lighting inside an out!!!! read more

Our installer did a GREAT job. The positioning of our shed was a little tricky. He came up with a solution, laid the metal foundation pieces down to mock up the positioning, and made sure I was ok with it before starting the build. He takes pride in his work, too. Before he started, he said, "I will do a good job for you. You'll see!" read more

Honestly, if you want to save money on lumber at this ridiculously over priced moment and you are in need of a shed purchase this. BUT, just make sure you have a carpenter friend or knowledge about going over and hammering in nails where they should have been placed. I will never recommend this company to anyone. They cut corners, don't respond to emails or complaints. Do it yourself or make sure you raise hell when they don't put the shed together the correct way. doesn't take much to have good customer service but I guess some companies haven't got the 2022 memo. Details** -Left shiners all over the shed (I have an 8 month old son who is learning how to walk. Shiners are nails that stick out of the other side of the wood because whoever put them in missed the fuvking two by four ) -The door frame would have warped and wobbled off the hinges in a year if we didn't go back and add a two by four to each side because the dimensions are off. (More shiners) -Roof doesn't sit properly on the frame because the two ppl they sent to put this together cut corners and didn't use a screw to suck down each corner. Used nails or more like on nail for each corner. - The screws to the hinges on the door aren't screwed into the door frame just the outer ply wood Like I said, if you have the time to go over it yourself or have a friend that can correct the bullshit build these ppl do then purchase it. I guess saving money will cost your time in the long run ALSO, this was a simple build, no windows just frame and roof. read more

We worked with Tuff Shed San Jose to build a 12x10 Lean-To Shed with a 6/12 roof pitch. Our primary point of contact was Larry Glick and he was very professional and knowledgeable throughout the whole process. Larry worked with us on a few configuration options and answered all of our follow-up questions quickly. We wrapped up the whole design/order process by scheduling an appt with Larry at their San Jose office to finalize all the color options. Placed order that Saturday. Install scheduled on Monday and completed that Tuesday. Install went fine with the subcontractors that Tuff Shed San Jose selected, but the factory sent out the wrong colored vents. Worked with the "Ops Team" via email and they sent someone to replace the vents on Thursday. Went thru a light rain shortly after the install was complete and no issues. So all in all a very good experience. From the time the order was placed to the time we had a completed shed was less than a week. Would recommend to others. read more

I purchased a 8x16 Tuff Shed. The installers are contracted out and not Tuff Shed employees, which is fine if the work was done to Tuff Shed standards. I had many issues with my install to include, crooked doors/hardware, wrong hardware, damaged drip cap, to name a few. Tuff Shed requested pictures, which I sent. They sent out their own employee Robert who was great. He noticed other issues I did not catch. Robert is the guy that fixes unsatisfactory work. He was coming from a previous job before he arrived at mine and he was going to another job after. If I could give Robert his own review, it would be a 5. Although most of these issues were installer issues, there was a load bearing 2x4 that was severely splintered in multiple locations. If you bought wood in bulk for a project, this piece would be the one you throw out because it didn't make the cut. Tuff Shed charged over 6K for my shed and for that kind of cash, I expected a little more. read more

From start to finish I've had a very positive and excellent experience with Tuff Shed. I run a small non-profit program for kids under the umbrella of a large non-profit organization. Our needs around how to pay for the shed and order it were unusual. I worked with Salesperson Larry Glick, who was terrific! He helped me understand what we were ordering (we had an architect give us our specs), and worked with me over a holiday weekend to ensure that our shed was ordered properly and paid for using the method we required. There is online signature and payment software that helps expedite the process and gives me electronic receipts for each step which, as a business manager, is super helpful. Larry and the team at Tuff Shed went out of their way to help us get the shed delivered to the site! And then the single carpenter installed the entire thing on his own in a matter of hours - and it looks perfect. Overall a truly easy and happy process. I would recommend Tuff Shed to anyone; and if we need more storage I will definitely be calling them! read more

What can I say about Tuff Shed? 1. The design services aren't bad 2. They are good at collecting their money and are insistent on payments being made even when the work hasn't been completed. 3. Shed was installed on the date promised but not-completed. The installers were sorry but no follow up by Tuff Shed (they seemed clueless except of course, they wanted their money) 4. Scheduled completion. The installers didn't show up. Calls to Larry at Tuff Shed went unanswered. When I finally go a call back from the coordinator, she was clueless that the installers didn't show up (I guess Larry had already received his commission so why did he care?) 5. Finally completed on that Saturday Issues 1. They seemed more concerned about collecting their money rather than finishing the job 2. Larry doesn't return his phone calls. 3. Work quality is only average. Not really that satisfied considering I paid $9K for my shed. All in all I if I ever use Tuff Shed again, it won't be with Larry or with the San Jose office. I hate having my time wasted. read more

The online site where you can design your shed was simple. They sent all the forms at the right time, and I felt safe throughout the process. They even gave me a discount on the paint, and a deal on the flooring. The two men who showed up, Cet, and Jose, were great. Highly capable, polite, and got the job done in just a few hours. They left the area around the shed absolutely spotless. Not one piece of metal, or screw. They were top notch, and then drove their truck and trailer all the way back to Stockton! I live in Pinole. Had a Tuff Shed built in our backyard by 2 young super hard working lads. They started at 930am and were done by 5pm. Worked hard all day, without taking a lunch break. I asked, "what about lunch", and one of them said, "we wouldn't finish if we took a lunch." Felt bad, so I took them some water and snacks. The shed came out super nice and matches the house. It is super sturdy with windows and 2 skylights. Did all my negotiating with Larry Glick of Milpitas Tuff Shed. Also, super easy and super nice to deal with. Did it all over the telephone due to the lock down. Designed my shed over my computor with his locked into mine so I could see everything I was asking for being designed by him.
