Dealing with Tuff Shed. The Tuff Lead-to Shed was put together on 9 August 2025. At my sons house. When it came to the part of construction/building the roof, the building code standards weren't met. I wasn't present, but I had been. That's an hour drive from where I live. When I received pictures from my son of the shed, I could see there were problems. There were a lot of issues with the construction standards of the roof not being met, not done correctly. So, I had to drive down there with my tools and a ladder to be able to have a look at that Turf Shed. Okay here we go. 1) The edge drip strip was not done correctly done. There is a correct way to cut and wrap the edge drip strip around a corner. Believe me what they did looks terrible, not even close to being done correctly. Both front corners the left and right, didn't even match. Both corners were done differently. 2) The Shingles should have had an overhang of 1/2" - 3/4" over the edge of the drip strip on all the edges, to allow the water to drip off the edge drip strip, so as to not be able to run down on the wood. The shingles were cut flush with the edge of the drip edge strip. Plus, there are caps from not being nailed properly/correctly. 3) Three(3) Concrete blocks columns were used to level the shed. No mortar was used at all to secure the blocks. They could have at least applied some construction caulking adhesive to hold the blocks in place, also to keep the blocks from shifting. Those block columns weren't even square, nor level. To check the blocks out, I but a level on them the block columns weren't level, oh like a 1/4" off level. 4) I entered the shed with a level and square in hand, so I could check that the corners were square and the shelves and floor were level etc they were. But, when I and closed the door standing there in the dark I could see sun light shining through a cap over the door where to roof wasn't attached/nailed on correctly. Yes, I took pictures of all the mistakes. 5) I have called two (2) different customer care location now, I have emailed them both pictures of the mess that was built. As of today 12 August 2025....No reply yet. After I retired with 25 years of service in the military. I decided to attend college. I received a degree in architecture design and drafting. Over the years while in the military I got plenty of construction experience. SO, I had a look at the BOCA building codes on my computer, on the construction standards, they didn't meet the standards on the roof. The bottom line is this..... The shed not including/missus the roof, over all looks fine, it's even to standards. The shed was prebuilt somewhere else by another construction crew to standards. Then the shed was brought/delivered to the construction site, my sons house and was, Ha-Ha,,,, put together by a different construction crew of different personnel, the shed walls, floor etc were to standards. But when it comes to the roof..... it look like crap. I could have ised a different word, but I'll keep it clean. As for The roof, it isn't at that much of an angle, it's a lean-to, nearly flat. No way could/would snow slide off, if it accumulates. Anyway the snow load wasn't ever considered, 2X4's were used to support the roof. I'll be doubling them up for better support of snow. If it ever comes. Anyway.... The roof wasn't done correctly AT ALL.... SO the shingles, the tar paper or tech wrap paper need to be removed, along with all the drip edge strip. Now for the second attempt, Redone the roof correctly, to the standards. - Apply new tech wrap or tare paper, the front edge should be on top of he drip edge strip. While the sides it gos under the drip edge strip to be correct. - Put on new drip edge strip correctly on all four sides. - New shingles put on correctly to standards. First with a starter strip shingle. Or just cut the tabs off a shingle to be used as a staring strip. Today 12 August 2025, I'm calling the Headquarters of Tuff Shed to attempt to have the roof done correctly. This is what happens when you assume ( the mother of all evil ) the job will be done correctly. I've tried to cover all the information on why I'm a very, very, very very unhappy customer. Horrible experience so far. Purchased at the local home depot, spent a month waiting and nobody responding to me or the home depot store. Canceled and ordered thru a different home depot hoping to get better service. Was even told they would take care of me and get this completed soon. Here we are a couple weeks into the new purchase and going thru the same thing. We paid for the permit in the purchase price and verified it multiple times. Now they want us to go to the city and pay for the permit again after telling us for a month and a half we did not need to do anything. I have worked with the city which has been great and have given the required information to the city, it just needs to be paid out of the funds collected at purchase. I thought this would be such a nice easy solution to getting a shed. What a joke! I do not write bad reviews just because I understand things can happen, I try to look for the good. We got one but our shed came half done and has many issues. Even though we have called multiple times to have it fixed, they haven't done a thing. I thought this was a reputable company. But it's been nothing but a nightmare to deal with. read more

I started the order process back in July of 2023 and was promised delivery by November at the latest. We're now in 2024, and nowhere close to having the shed completed. Throughout the process, the post-sales support was among the worse I've ever experienced and the company has yet to keep a single promised timeline. I have been promised countless updates, only for people at TuffShed to pass the buck to another "department", and weeks going by without any updates. We have undergone a 6+ month remodel on the inside and outside of our house and TuffShed's process, communication, and support has been the worst part of our entire remodel process, despite me paying nearly $20k for a shed to a company that does nothing but makes sheds and somehow can't manage the most basic parts of the process. They also outsource several parts of the process, including installation, which causes further delays. Take your money and business elsewhere - I am in the process of buying 2 additional sheds from Heartland and my experience with them has been night and day when compared to TuffShed read more

I purchased a Tuff Shed through Home Depot. Everything was great until after the sale and installation. During the construction I pointed out something I felt was wrong and the response was "this is the way I always do it". After they left, I did my research and confirmed that it didn't comply with the manufacturers requirements and it was installed wrong! Tuff Shed's customer service after the sale was absolutely horrible. I would call and no response. I finally had to get Home Depot involved. After waiting on Tuff Shed for almost 3 weeks, I made one call to Home Depot's customer service in the morning and that night everything was fixed. Once all the repairs were made, Tuff Sheds has a great product. I looked at their local competitors and Tuff uses superior materials. Overall the Tuff Sheds are just better built. I also like the customization feature to meet my needs when selecting the shed. Even with all the problems, I would still purchase another Tuff Shed. read more

I ordered a shed that was scheduled to be installed on March 10, 2021. The transit windows were placed on the wrong side because the salesman did not provide an updated diagram after I decided to add them to the shed. Although it was a two-day job, it was scheduled for one day (training issue). The trim was not painted when delivered, delaying installation. The crew came back the next day only to tell us there was not enough trim to complete the job. The installer came back on March 14th but couldn't finish because there was not enough roof trim. We were promised the shed would be finished on Sun, March 14 but here we are March 18th (8pm) and the shed still is not finished! I have called Customer Service at the Arizona Tuff Shed number, the installation scheduling number and do not get a call back. I then called Corporate Office customer service number and have not gotten a call back. There has been no follow up to ensure our shed is OK, especially since the local General Manager was involved and discounted our price $400 off the $8400 price due to initial problems. I just don't get it. I called customer service three times in AZ and twice to Denver (Corporate Office) before calling these past two days. No one calls back so I'm stuck! I work at the busiest Fry's Grocery Store and talk to hundreds of customers each week. You can be sure that if Tuff Shed comes up in a conversation, I will discourage folks from shopping at Tuff Shed due to the extremely poor customer service I've received. We have waited for our personally designed Tough Shed for 1 yr. Granted it was a year of Covid--but all of the very poor customer service that we encountered, Covid was not the excuse. We dealt with Bill Story in Concord for a San Francisco delivery. He did come out last March to survey the property and did give us a quote. He then told us that the workers had no insurance and could not go through the house. He also aid that due to Covid they can not go through the house. He then increased the price of the shed because "the plants building moved". Then, he said they could come to build it if we removed part of our fence. He never sent the builders. We had them drop off the shed for someone else to do it. They sent the wrong shed. He never apologized. We got some ex- Tough shed employees to put the shed up. Bill never sent the Tough shed current employees nor helped us to find these good guys. The guys knew how to bypass Bill and get the correct shed parts for our personally designed shed. I purchased a shed from Home Depot and was promised delivery in about 6 weeks . It was before Christmas and I could understand the long delivery time. I had several E Mails reminding me about .. my Jan 15 delivery date and even an E Mail that the shed was under construction a few days before. I didnt hear anything early on Jan 15 so I called the area Tuff Shed to get an update on when they would be at my house. I knew there was a problem when I was put on hold for 10 minutes.It turns out they didnt know I was getting a shed that day. They said it was a computer glitch. Early on I tried to get a item cost breakdown from Home Depot ,who I had paid for the shed,and they couldnt give mre anything. I called Tuff Shed and got the info after holding a few minutes. If you buy a shed from Home Depot you better follow up closely throughout the whole process to insure you get your shed on time. The system is broken. Tom read more

I purchased a Tuff shed from Home Depot. The customer service when dealing with Tuff shed was absolutely horrendous. They took forever to schedule delivery. I could NEVER get ahold of them. When I did get ahold of them....they were very rude on the phone. When it came to my deliver date. I never received a call to let me know when they were coming. They just showed up and then said they'd have to come back another day because they couldn't fit (which was not true) the guy just seemed like he didn't want to drop it in my yard. So instead. He decided to just drop it off in my alley, half way in my yard but not even within my fence. It took almost 5 hours to get ahold of anyone to help, finally, Dave the manager came to my house and rolled it into my yard. He was great! But mike the delivery guy, Megan the dispatcher, and Alfredo the delivery guy were all absolutely terrible. Love this product. But their customer service needs some serious work. read more
