Instagram got me again. I kept seeing the Mango con Crema at Tucson Chocolate Factory pop up and finally decided I needed to see what all the fuss was about. Spoiler: it was absolutely worth it. The mango and cream were SO good together. The mango flavor was bright and fresh, while the cream added just the right amount of richness without overpowering it. Everything was perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. And that outer shell? Super tasty and the perfect finishing touch. I'm also loving the new location! It was really easy to get to, and the inside is adorable. It feels bright, cute, and welcoming, plus they have a few tables where you can actually sit, hang out with friends, and enjoy your treats instead of immediately heading out the door. We decided to give Tucson chocolate a try. Saw them on social media and red they had different flavors, etc. Well we got there and asked for an assortment they sold us a pack of supposed assorted chocolates. Some red. Some yellow. Some blue. They all had agave or Mexican chocolate or something or other. We tried every single chocolate only to find they all absolutely taste the same no uniqueness, no difference in the flavor we could make it. It was a let down, well, also purchased some of those viral pastry fruit things. $12 for one, and let me just say. Save your money, this was a waste of time and flavor. How incredibly over hyped this is and was a let down. You can go to any bakery or other chocolate place and get multiple items for $12. What a jip. One thing is for sure I won't be back. Tucson Chocolate Factory has recently moved to the Fourth Avenue downtown area. Parking on fourth Avenue is very challenging and so if you're planning to purchase stuff, the first challenge is getting a parking spot. This location offers a private seating area so you can get a chocolate Dubai strawberry, beverages, and fruit chocolate coated mousse cakes. They sell chocolate bonbons, and I recently tried their fall flavors, which were both delicious. The Dubai chocolate bars I didn't see my last trip and I really missed picking up on. That's what I enjoyed most from this shop. The coated mousse desserts are about 2-3 bites and worth trying but I don't think I'd return for them. I need to try their drinks next visit. I wish them much success but this location is going to be a challenge. read more

Nice compact, clean store filled with locally made truffle/bonbons and a selection of other tempting treats. Easy walk up or drive to location on 4th Ave. Service was prompt and friendly. If you want an amazing treat and a great coffee, this is the place to be! I tried two bonbons, one was ancho caramel and the other was cherry almond. Both were rich and creamy and so delicious! The mocha iced coffee was also spiced with the perfect amount of t of cinnamon to give it an extra amount of yumminess. They also have mousse cakes which looked delicious but I did not try this time. Came in to try the new fall bonbon flavors, and they did not disappoint! The cherry almond ganache bonbon was delicious, with a wonderfully strong almond flavor. My favorite of the two! The pumpkin chai ganache really packs that pumpkin punch, making it feel like fall even in 90 degree Tucson! We also tried their adorable fruit-shaped mousse treats in blueberry cheesecake, raspberry, and mango. I was very hesitant to spend $14 on a mini cup of Dubai chocolate strawberries. Unfortunately it was the best cup of Dubai chocolate strawberries I've had--and I've had a lot. The strawberries are loaded in house-made pistachio cream and ethically sourced milk chocolate. It is variations of Dubai chocolate which I hadn't heard of before but was glad to find. I found out that it includes pistachio cream. They have cups such as the Strawberry Dubai cup that has the chocolate/pistachio cream and strawberries which was very good but a large portion-easy to share. You can get brownies, chocolate bars and a few other items. The people working there are friendly and helpful. There is some seating if you want to eat there. The Dubai Strawberry Cups seem overpriced at $16 each for what it is and it is not the best dessert to have on a hot day in Arizona. The strawberries are not cold, the melted chocolate is good, but heavy and thick, so you will end up being parched from this dessert. Tucson Chocolate Factory is located inside Bella's Gelato shop. You can't help but to be pulled in with the delicious smells wafting from the shop. We were greeted with lots of welcome ins and big smiles. Walked up the Chocolate Factory's counter and was given a tour of all of the interesting creations they have. We took a seat in a couple of comfy chairs and table set up bistro style and dug in. The colors of the cup are just beautiful with luscious chocolate, pistachio and oh the strawberries. There were lots of strawberries throughout the cup and not a bad one in the bunch. I literally could not stop eating it. It's a chocolate dessert so it is heavy but it's worth it. The cup is priced at $16, not cheap but definitely worth the price for the confection in my opinion. I finally had the chance to try a dubai chocolate cup! I got there just before 2:00, and they had started serving the cups that they serve from 2:00-6:00 early, lucky me! They didn't have dark chocolate today which was my favorite, but I still completely devoured and enjoyed my cup. It was full of strawberries and creamy chocolate and crunchy pistachio! They were pretty good and unique, but based on everyone else's reviews, I think I set my expectations way too high and I wouldn't get them again. Tried the (free) dark chocolate pecan turtles they were promoting this week on Yelp and bought a bon bon 4-pack with 2 each of white chocolate coconut almond and pistachio chocolate peanut butter. The turtle was amazing - approx an oval that's 2 inches long with dark chocolate which helps balance the sweetness of the caramel... and not too much caramel complimented the ample pecans nicely. The bon bons are barely an inch across, like a beautifully colored marble (but cut in half and laid down on its flat side), and again a nice balance of darker chocolate and a bit of firm-ish filling as described for each. At $9 for the 4-pack they're a bit pricey (or decadent) but less than Monsoon's‍. Packaging is handsome and protective. Bring a cooler or buy these last as they will melt!
