I'm often running late for stuff due to my fondness for sleeping, so sometimes breakfast, or even, ashamedly, lunch, has to be bought on the run. Tuckers is an ideal place for that purchase, as it is smack bang in the middle of the bus stop and the train station, both of which I use for commuting.
The shop itself is small, with two high stools and a window table if you want to have a seat in there, but it is mainly for take away foods. There is a large fridge with juices and water, and some pre-made salads and re heatable chillis which are perfect if you can't wait for something to be made there and then.
The menu board hangs above the counter, and is extensive. You can have sandwiches, baguettes, paninis or wraps, as well as salad boxes and a selection of soups and hot meals, like chilli.
The produce is fresh and prepared in front of you. It has always been superb, and I would recommend the ham and cheese paninis. However, I am often disappointed at how expensive it is. They do meal deals, which are cheap, but if you are looking to buy a sandwich or panini, a drink and some crisps, you are looking at a fiver or more, which for Motherwell is pretty dear. read more
