First time at Tuccis. We went to the bar to wait for a table. After a while we checked, and our name was crossed off. Fail.... Salad had WAY too much onion. Food was slow getting to the table, but it was very good. Bartender made an awesome lti. Waiter was just okay. I enjoyed my meal, but it was about two hours of our time. My wife and I love this place. It is a wonderful surprise. We were on our way to Chicago and looking for a place to get lunch. We pulled off the interstate headed for a Cracker Barrel. When we saw Tucci's we thought we would take a chance, not expecting much. What a surprise. They have a good variety of offerings from sandwiches to pasta and pizza. We were excited to see a number of vegetarian options. My wife had the tortellini with broccoli. It was beautifully made in house and had a tasty white sauce. I got the baked spaghetti with vegetables. It was thick with melted mozzarella and provolone. Each entee came with hot bread and that house salad. The sweet Italian dressing was out of this world! read more

I've been a frequent customer of Tucci's Sunday Brunch for over a year now and have had few issues during that time. However, today's "service" was the worst that I've ever received... from any restaurant. After getting seated, the hostess took our drink orders and delivered them herself. Obviously, they were short-staffed and unable to keep up with the customer flow, but nevertheless, no major red flags. After we got our drinks, our waitress came over and introduced herself by saying "we're really busy... can you guys just handle one check?" Ummm, sure? We then waited 30 minutes before our server came back to take our order, which according to her, was placed at 11:10am. By 12pm, still no food and our drinks were only refreshed once (and they could have used more) with no apologies and few updates, including the ever-professional check-in, "are you mad?" At this point, we asked for a manager to stop by and after 5 minutes and a quick pow-wow between the waitress and the manager near our table, Carl came over and started with, "you DO know that there are 160 other customers here?!" Just what a repeat customer wants to hear. Defensively, I replied, "but that's your problem, not mine", to which he snapped, "oh really?!" Yes sir, it is. If you're understaffed and overbooked, that's a restaurant issue, NOT a customer issue. And tell people up front that the kitchen is an hour and a half behind, your Mimosas will be 90% OJ, and nope, you're not as important as our other 160 customers. To his credit, after realizing that we had an hour and a half wait and rude service to boot, Carl backed down and then offered the response he SHOULD have started with, but by this time, I was so disenfranchised, we decided to just call it and leave. Too little, too late. I'm so disappointed, since Tucci's has been my go-to spot for gluten-free brunch for months now, but this was such a poor customer experience, I'm not sure if/when I'll ever be going back. read more

When I went here on a date, our service was slow and so we'd have to wait about 20 minutes for a refill. One thing that i did enjoy was the food there, it was very good. So I would come here but make it the very end of the plans at night. read more

The prices might be a little high, but I can justify the price just in quality alone. The salad, served much like Olive Garden, already dressed in their house dressing, stands alone. The dressing is not over powering and it isn't a vinegar ball in your mouth either. The pastas are served fi4m but fully cooked. No mush or crush. Just perfect. And when they say garlic sauce, they mean it. It has a full bodied garlic flavor and aroma. When you ask for mid-rare, it comes mid-rare. It doesn't come raw or burnt to a crisp. I'm more than willing to pay for the higher price, for the quality you receive. Not to mention the atmosphere. Charming and cozy with out being claustrophobic or kitschy. Although new to the staff she was very professional and thorough with taking our orders and making sure each person at the table got the food they ordered. Clean restaurant and food came out extremely hot. Bathrooms were out of paper towels but the manager was notified and the problem was corrected immediately. Will be back! read more

Place was quiet and staff friendly. Menu was a little "confused". This is an Italian restaurant with Cajun items in the menu. Could have done without that. I ordered a side they had in the menu, angel hair with garlic and oil. I added peppers. SO delicious! I also got a salad and bread. Salad was good, the dressing was a little sweet, the bread was.....bread. Nothing special. Would I come back, yup! I appreciate the ability to customize something that was really not a main menu item and it tasted delicious! read more

Had an excellent meal with great service by our server Anna. Have eaten here before. Love the pizza! Made with fresh sausage, not the rabbit droppings used by franchise pizza restaurants. Even though we went for Italian we opted to try the raved about Rack Of Ribs. Excellent choice! Fall off the bone tender with a sweet and spicy sauce. The homemade bread pudding was the most amazing, don't leave without trying. The food came out extremely hot, something I have rarely experienced. This place is the opposite of most of my recent restaurant experiences. I'm growing quite accustomed to awesome food, crappy service. But here, the waitress was SO wonderful but the food wasn't that spectacular. I've heard lots of people recommend the Devil's Pasta [can't remember the specific name--but it was something similar to that] but I chickened out at the last minute and ordered something else. I just spoke with the owner of Tucci's and he was very apologetic for the situation, stating he was flabbergasted by the complaint and handled it poorly. He welcomes nursing mothers in his restaurant. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I was at Tucci's this afternoon for lunch. I was breastfeeding (the horrors!) my 10 month old when the owner told me to cover up because "some people were offended." As I'd been there for all of 3 minutes, had nursed my child for less than that, the only person who could have been offended was the owner. I refused, he walked away. We quickly decided to leave and as I was walking out either an employee or the owner, I forget which, informed me that the owner was calling the police. Because I nursed my infant. I'm in contact with LLL of Kankakee County and Kankakee Area Breastfeeding Moms about this incident. The police sergeant who received the complaint now has a copy of Illinois' breastfeeding laws. All people should know that while we have the legal right to nurse wherever we are otherwise allowed, Tucci's does not want our money. I suggest we not give it to them. read more

My first experience at Tucci's will be my last.  On Sat. Nov. 10th my daughter offered to take me out for an early birthday dinner.  We arrived around 3:30 in the afternoon.  After talking and deciding what we wanted to eat, it took a while for our waitress to come back.  We ordered our entrees and she was in such a hurry that she put her order pad away before we could order our appetizers. The stuffed mushrooms were very good.  Then we waited and waited and waited for our entrees to arrive.  We noticed that there was someone that kept looking back at us so we thought they might be trying to figure out why we were still there with no food.  At 5 p.m. I got to the point that I went to the bar to ask for the manager.  She said "I noticed that you were waiting a while" (if she did, why didn't she check on what the problem was!) When we did get our food, it was luke warm at best.  They took it back (I thought they were going to remake everything) brought it back out a couple of minutes later, obviously microwaved which made my husband's shrimp rubbery, he only ate a couple of them.  My daughter took only a few bites of her fish it was so bad.  At that point we should have just paid for our drinks and appetizer and walked out.  The manager came and brought us a $10 gift card. This was even more of an insult! (This was after the waitress told us a couple of the meals would be comped).  For an upscale dining experience you would expect more than poor service and re-microwaved food. read more

I took my husband and sons here for my husband's birthday. We knew this restaurant as 1875, then Tucci's. I must say I really miss 1875....this version is similar to Olive Garden only pricier and not as good. The waitress was friendly and was there to take drink orders right away...though we never did get water. She was very attentive and came back to refill drinks and check on us often. Other than the water issue, We had no complaints with the service. We went on pasta bar night. I love the pasta bar. But there were no signs for the price. I let my kids eat the pasta bar (big mistake for nearly $15 per person). While my fresh, made to order combo was delicious and worth the $$, I should have just ordered off the kids menu for the boys. My husband ordered the veal. He reported canned mushrooms while there were fresh ones sitting on the pasta bar! He did not get angel hair pasta as the menu stated. I know small, issues, but it all added up in the end. The drink menu advertised seasonal Sangria, but I was informed they were out. Please either stock items on the menu or change it. The Sangria I did have was horrible. It tasted like watered down boxed wine with a bunch of fruit in it. Not at all what I have ever tasted drinking Sangria. My son chose the sweet dough for dessert. It was a generous portion, but the powdered sugar made a mess. Cinnamon and sugar may have been a better choice. But that wasn't the biggest issue. The pooling grease at the bottom of the bowl was a problem for me. Drain the fried food before serving it. It isn't like the restaurant was busy, there was only a few tables with people. All in all it was en expensive night. I don't think we will be back as it did not feel like I got my money's worth. read more

We've been coming to Tucci's since it opened and I'm disappointed in the downward trend we've seen over the past 6 months. The portions seem smaller ( not necessarily a bad thing ) but the food prep and service is really slipping. The meals recently are bland, missing advertised ingredients and badly prepared. I orderd Veal Marsala and it arrived looking like meat and brown gravy over pasta. The pasta was undercooked( Surprising), the dish had no seasoning or detectable Marsala wine in it, the breading on the veal was " gooey" and the " gravy" tasted like uncooked flour. Very disappointing! Service - Indifferent and slow ! I hope things turn around because, in the past, Tucci's was our Go-To, Great Food Place! read more

Sunday is the only day I can go to breakfast due to my schedule. 3 out of 4 weeks a month I come here. It is the only day they do breakfast, but they do it so well!! I most of the time get the Hodge Podge which is a mix of peppers, eggs, tomatoes, meats, and hash browns covered in gravy. I get toast on the side with peanut butter (not on the menu, just ask). Tucci's is a nice restaurant for this area, that being said it's nothing where if you're not from the area that is worth taking a trip for. It's Italian, but of course more on the American side of it. Imagine Olive Garden, and that's basically what Tucci's is (they even have a soup/salad/breadsticks deal). The salad is really good, I prefer it to Olive Garden's, their house salad is really really yummy. They also have $3.00 glasses of house wine all day every day, so that's definitely a bonus (nothing like spending $7 on a glass of wine that you can buy a bottle of for $7 at Kroger...). There are a lot of options on the menu, but it's not confusing. The only problem I have with this place is that it it LOUD, I mean loud. If the bar area is packed you almost have to shout to hear each other and if you're there on a date it could be really distracting. We go there with our two small children because no one notices if they act up (unlike nicer restaurants where I wouldn't dare take them because I am not out to ruin anyone's dinner). I would rate the loud level a notch below Buffalo Wild Wings and a step above McDonald's during field trip day. It's location is also a bit "off", it can be difficult to figure out how to get in (tip, use mall entrance). It is located centrally to most of the hotels in the area, which is nice, and you can literally walk out of the indoor pool area at the Fairfield Inn and be at the entrance of Tucci's. read more

I had a bizarre run where friends/colleagues would take me to eat here. I get less concerned with details when I'm not paying. It's ok. The food was ok, the prices a little high for the quality, the service ok. I root for this place because the area is saturated with crappy chains and not enough local flavor. Went to this place last night and it didn't disappoint. I was skeptical at first because there isn't that many non-chain places to eat that I know of in Bradley/Bourbonnais. They start you off with bread and salad which were both good. I recommend dipping the bread in olive oil/herbs/Parmesan/balsamic vinegar. You'll have to ask for the balsamic vinegar. Good combo tho! Then I had the fried walleye which was some of, if not the best walleye I've ever had. Very flavorful breading. I paid $3 more to get the all you can eat and no regrets here. I had two helpings and brought a third home. My girlfriend had lobster stuffed ravilois which were amaze balls as well. Glad to know this spot exists near home!! read more

Discovered Tucci's Sunday brunch several months ago and have been frequent customers until today. Our group of five - four of which are all longtime former servers - were all highly sympathetic for the Father's Day rush. We were all taken aback though when our server, who I cannot name because she never introduced herself, said we couldn't separate our checks due to the rush, but "we could figure it out right?" Um, okay? We didn't see her again until 30 minutes later to take our order. At this point all of our waters were completely empty, even the ice had melted at this point. We waited a total of an hour and a half, the server checking in on us a max of three times. The last time she popped in to tell us our food was on it's way soon, we expressed our frustration. Her response was we're busy, there's nothing I can do and shrugged. Literally shrugged. So we asked to speak to the manager. It took the manager a good five minutes to get over to us. At this point we were ready to leave and just waiting to inform the manager. He comes over and the first words to us were, "you guys know we have 160 people in there right?" What?! We are customers as well, are those 160 customers more important than us that we shouldn't get served? You had a rush, kept serving people with no warning that there might be a delay in service. That is not our problem, but the restaurants. We said as much and the manager raised his voice and said "oh, really?" It wasn't until we fully explained our experience that he listened to us and offered to comp part of the meal. I have never been treated by a business like this in my entire life. The server was extremely rude, stood there with the manager denying our claims and had a manager raise his voice to us. I am still in complete shock. I'm really sad I can no longer give them business. read more

Been there several times I don't think they ever clean or dust all the food is so so prices are extremely high quality is acceptable but I think they should clean up the place and add some more reasonable items to their menu especially sandwiches and some different salads not everybody loves tons and tons of pasta but they do like Italian food. read more

Service was really good. But unfortunately the food was not. I ordered the North Atlantic cod sandwich it was soggy cold ,honestly tasted like it's been sitting in the freezer for 6 months. Went there for the first time recently and ordered the Tilapia special. Enjoyed the salad, but the baked potato required some chopping to work through, so not fully-baked. The Tilapia was ok, but nothing special. Nothing special about the bread.In general, it was a flavorless meal. The glasses of wine brought to the table were just slightly over half filled. Being a Bourbonnais resident, I like to try the nearby local establishments before heading over to the chain restaurants. But, next time I want Italian, I'll likely be at Olive Garden. read more

Decently sized place with plenty of seating and a bar. The staff is super friendly. It did take the waitress a bit of time to come back and take our order though. The bread is nice and fresh and not too crispy or too doughy. They give some seasoning on the plate to go with your olive oil which is a nice touch. Excellent authentic Italian. The ragu leaves some to be desired, however their pink sauce (Alfredo with red) is an excellent combination. Had a cheese pasta dish with the pink sauce. Good al dente on the pasta, which I believe is hand made. Mozzarella sticks are good as well but not incredible. 4 stars solely for the lack of seasoning and biting acidity of the red sauce. Looking forward to trying the pizzas next time. read more
