Since we had our dog with us, we opted to sit outside. Luckily, it's a covered patio, so although it was a hot day, it could have been worse if we had direct sun, and the view of the vineyard on Red Mountain is phenomenal! We were greeted with a glass of rosè, and opted for tastings. There are 3 tastings for $20 (not counting the welcome glass), with generous pours. The fee is waived with bottle purchase of $30. I opted for mostly cab or cab blends. Honestly, I didn't care for the wine. I was actually disappointed as so many people have raved about Kiona. The best thing I tasted was the rosè. Maybe I chose the wrong wines to taste, but I'm not sure I'd buy Kiona wines. On the flip side, the staff were absolutely great! And the tasting room is gorgeous, and if the views are your thing, and you enjoy their wine, definitely pay Kiona a visit.

Cooper is a family run winery and is all about the Bordeaux-style reds. Their wines are exclusively made from their estate vineyards. We've also had the chance to attend their annual CoopFest event. This event is a chance for members to get together and enjoy the wines. We had a lot of fun walking through their vineyards and stopping at multiple stations to taste their wines including their Gatekeeper line up. Their Gatekeeper line highlights varietals such as Sangiovese, Syrah, Nebbiolo, and Zinfandel. Their tasting room is in the same building as their barrel room, production area, and fermentation room. There are tables on the ground floor, however the tasting room is located on the mezzanine level. There's a long bar top and multiple tables to accommodate large parties. We've had numerous tastings and always walked away even more in love with their wines. Our favorites are the C4, Merlot, Carménère, Cab Sauvignon, and their Gatekeeper Nebbiolo. Service is fantastic and true to their mantra. You feel like you are part of the CoopClub. We are happy we stumbled upon this winery and excited to taste future releases!

The Avennia staff member was personable and explained the pours. My favorites were the 2022 Red Mountain Cab, 2022 Sestina, and 2022 Valery. We also ordered a couple of their charcuterie plates to go with our tasting. Pricing was reasonable. They have 2 types of tastings. The Signature tasting is $25 per person and the cost is waived with a $50 spend. This tasting features their standard release wines. The Reserve tasting is $35 per person however the fee is waived with $75 purchase. This tasting showcases their premium wines.
