I had Frichette on my list to visit because we had some friends who raved about it. First it's a BIPOC owned business. The owners, Greg and Shae, are passionate about their business and it shows! The tasting room is beautifully decorated. There's a story board about how they came to Washington and started Frichette. But we had our dog, so we opted to sit outside. Greg set us up in Adirondack chairs underneath the Apricot tree, so we were shaded, as it was a hot day. We were so grateful. People were commenting we looked like a magazine cover! Lol! We were greeted with a glass of rosè and opted for the wine tastings. It's $20 for 4 tastings, not including the welcome glass of Rosè. Their wines were exactly what I was looking for. Fantastic, full bodied flavor. And Shae would chat us up whenever she dropped a tasting, not just to talk about the wine, but really just chat. It felt like we already knew her! If you're ever in Benton City, definitely add Frichette to your list of wineries to visit. I know we'll be back!!! read more

This vineyard is not only gorgeous, but comes with exceptional service and a homely vibe. I have been to many wineries and vineyards but haven't come cross one where the winemakers comes sit and chats with you like you are a guest at their homes visiting. The vibe here is amazing and this place has been decorated very thoughtful. We didn't have a reservation so showed up and was happily seated with the option of inside or out. We went with outside as it was a gorgeous day and who would say no to drinking wine in a vineyard! They have a variety of tasting options, from Rośe- white- reds. Rośe was very refreshing, Chardonnay, I'm not a fan but this one wasn't as tart as the rest of the ones I've tasted. Let's talk reds nothing disappointed!! Malbec, Merlot and Cab each had their own flavors from light to bold to heavy. We ended up purchasing one of each as we were unable to make a decision. There is no rush to leave, you are not on a time crunch, they treat you like family here. You can sit and drink by bottle or glass, walk the vineyards and it's dog friendly. You can bring your old wine bags from any winery and they reuse it. We were surprised when our wine was given to us in a different wineries bag. Loved this concepts of reusing. Inside the tasting room is gorgeous. Definitely coming back here !! read more

Been awhile but passing through area and wanted to revisit. Few places are full 5 stars but this place deserves it. Staff is personable, friendly, humorous and fun, service is fantastic. Then the star of the show, the wines. I generally consider Red Mountain grapes some of the best red wine grapes anywhere, and they execute perfectly. Juicy, complex, right balance of bite and sugar. Cab Sav was my favorite, even Merlot was excellent and I'm not a huge Merlot person. The charcuterie was outstanding. Not some cheese and crackers from the supermarket. Lots of great touches. House made roasted cashews with rosemary. House made cheese spread. Great selection of hard cheeses. Beautiful surroundings and views of Red Mountain and classy interior. I'll definitely be back more often. read more

Of the three wineries we visited today, Frichette tied for our favorite. What did they do right?! So many things! First, Greg, the co-owner was serving and his welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable spirit was evident from the start. He takes time to chat with all the guests and makes them feel at home. Second, the atmosphere was fabulous. We sat outside (where even in the shade we were toasty by the end of our visit) but the winery views and ambience were worth the heat. The wine - that's what we came for, right!? They offer a mystery flight which was a fun little challenge - 3 reds, figure out which is which. We were 1 for 3. But it sure was fun trying! The cab was amazing. We also ordered cashews and chocolate, which were delicious, the cashews were toasted and so flavorful and the chocolate was.... Well delicious, obviously! Frichette was a terrific stop on our wine tour today. After our tasting, Greg brought out two more wines for a quick splash tasting. Truly top-notch experience. Highly recommend! read more

This winery is so beautiful and the outside seating is charming. The servers were great. Very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful in choosing wines to taste. We did not get to meet the owners but we heard their unique story and were visited by sweet little (4-legged) Tessa greeting patrons. Try the cheese ball for sure. It is so unique and creamy. I loved the reds I tried, especially the cab. The Sashay Rose' is crisp and delightful too in a memorable bottle. Such a fantastic experience. Service was amazing, everyone was very kind and had room for us without a reservation. However, the tasting fee was not comped with purchase of wine which was surprising to us. Spent $70+ on one tasting and one bottle. To make it worse, we took the wine home and it fell right out of the bag and broke getting out of the car, so we didn't even get to enjoy the $50 bottle of wine :( But the wine and atmosphere are both great! read more

Went in with friends. The waitress decided that the men in the group were more important than the women and absolutely, completely ignored me. Even after I said I wanted to buy a bottle of wine and advised her the wine would be traveling all the way to the east coast. She brought the bottle, packed up and gave it to my husband, then proceeded to give him the bill. I had to advise her that I would be paying; THEN she decided to not ignore me. I will never go back to this winery, even if the wine was acceptable. In addition, I was charged for my flight, even after I purchased wine. This might be their custom, but it will be another reason why I won't be back. There are a lot of wineries out there. Their wine was not that great.ambience-wise, the place was pretty. Frichette Winery - Enjoying great wine with amazing friends - Wineries Near Me - Benton City, Washington

Wow. My friends and I hit four wineries over two days, finishing with Frichette just by chance. Amazing place both in terms of a small boutique winery as well as an interesting socio-political statement around class and race. I'll get to that in a bit. We decided to stop here because it was the first winery we hit as my need for a bathroom break intensified. You know what I mean! We've all been there. So in exchange for using the bathroom we stayed for a tasting. They specialize in red wines although they offer a semillon and a rose. My hubby and I ordered the two different flights of red. We also ordered a cheese plate that was excellent. The wines proved to be the best we had of the four wineries we visited this trip. The reds were each deep, clearly different than one another and not your run of the mill reds. The owner, one of two African American female wine makers in Washington state spent a great deal of time with us as did her staff, Whitney. Both were delightful and their energy and expertise made our experience incredible. Now three of the four of us are African American. And my sister-friend Phyllis had just asked if we had seen any other Black folks and we each gave a resounding "No!" So the Universe provided, along with my bladder, and we arrived at the door of the one and only African American owned winery in the area and one of two in the entire state of Washington. And a woman to boot!! The odds of our finding this one needle in the haystack were astronomical! And that shouldn't be the case. It shouldn't be an astronomical chance. It ought not be a rarity. Worse than that, it made me realize that this area that is 35% Latinx probably has no wineries owned by the primary source of labor. This is a great example of how hierarchical power structures maintain and sustain inequity of opportunity and success. So kudos to Shea and her husband and their success in a field where such success is exceptional and rare. Thank you for a wonderful and truly soulful experience. read more

This is a smaller, boutique winery that I think has hopes of being the next big thing on Red Mountain. Their wine is on track to do that. We tasted here for the first time this past Saturday. Both owners were out, engaging with all of the guests and offering bonus pours on top of their printed tasting list. The wines were solid - really nice takes on traditional Bordeaux varietals at very reasonable prices for the quality. Aside from the Carmenere, which I felt like needed some kind of food to pair, I thought the merlot, cab, and their punctual blend (cab franc dominant) were very drinkable on their own, and as a result we walked out with bottles of all three. Some of the best wine I have had in Washington have come from these smaller husband/wife teams that make estate wines - Cultura, Fortuity, and VanArnam come to mind. I think Frichette is cut from a similar cloth, although I get the sense that they want to grow while the other three have been content with mostly being mom-and-pop winemakers. I will be very interested to see where they are two to three years down the line - we'll be back before then, though. read more

They have a great story and the place itself is super well put together. Small case production of 650 but hopefully they will expand in the future. They are super smart with food pairings picking one of the hottest restaurants (ethos) to work with for their events. Delicious hummus too. Don't miss this place. AMAZING ....Shae welcomed us as soon as we approached their tasting room and it kept getting better from there. Our part of 6 tasted 5-6 of their wines and agreed it was the only winery we visited where we loved each selection. Greg shared their story with us as he told us about each wine and we were captivated by this lovely couple and their wines. Their son Jaden ( 6 years old) gave us a tour and will be quite the tour guide as he grows. We bought a bottle of their signature Rose' " Sashy" and picnicked on heir patio . Overall: This winery is great. The atmosphere is very relaxed and chill. The owners are really friendly. The wine is delicious. Definitely one of the best wineries in Red Mountain. Pros: - You can bring your dogs, which was really fun! There is a decent sized lawn they can run around in. - They have a croquette set you can play with! - They have both white and red wine. All decent. Some great. Not in the same class as Col Solare, but few wines are. - Friendly owners. - They have a selfie wall, which was just a cute extra touch. Cons: - As with any great winery, it gets a bit busy, on nice days especially. Be prepared to wait a bit for your next pour. I visited on Memorial Day weekend, so this was likely more traffic than most days. - Could use a bit more table space for when it gets really busy. (They were doing some construction to expand, so this may have changed since I last visited.) - No crackers. The people need crackers. or bread or something to clear the pallette between wines. - This is just a tasting room - no vines. read more

The wines are fantastic and the Frichettes are such wonderful, gracious hosts. They offer several great classes and events, they are much more than a tasting room.
