    Thursday wine tasting
    Jill H.

Of the three wineries we visited today, Frichette tied for our favorite. What did they do right?! So many things! First, Greg, the co-owner was serving and his welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable spirit was evident from the start. He takes time to chat with all the guests and makes them feel at home. Second, the atmosphere was fabulous. We sat outside (where even in the shade we were toasty by the end of our visit) but the winery views and ambience were worth the heat. The wine - that's what we came for, right!? They offer a mystery flight which was a fun little challenge - 3 reds, figure out which is which. We were 1 for 3. But it sure was fun trying! The cab was amazing. We also ordered cashews and chocolate, which were delicious, the cashews were toasted and so flavorful and the chocolate was.... Well delicious, obviously! Frichette was a terrific stop on our wine tour today. After our tasting, Greg brought out two more wines for a quick splash tasting. Truly top-notch experience. Highly recommend!

This winery is so beautiful and the outside seating is charming. The servers were great. Very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful in choosing wines to taste. We did not get to meet the owners but we heard their unique story and were visited by sweet little (4-legged) Tessa greeting patrons. Try the cheese ball for sure. It is so unique and creamy. I loved the reds I tried, especially the cab. The Sashay Rose' is crisp and delightful too in a memorable bottle. Such a fantastic experience. I'll return on my next visit to the Tri Cities for sure!

What a gem! This winery was welcoming and engaging. Greeted by the owner - he welcomed us to try the grapes. We loved the stroll through the vineyard, tasting and music selection. The owners' special touches are evident throughout. This is a great place for a date, friend catch up, or stop over while traveling through Red Mountain.

Regular tasting flight and mystery flight

Service was amazing, everyone was very kind and had room for us without a reservation. However, the tasting fee was not comped with purchase of wine which was surprising to us. Spent $70+ on one tasting and one bottle. To make it worse, we took the wine home and it fell right out of the bag and broke getting out of the car, so we didn't even get to enjoy the $50 bottle of wine :( But the wine and atmosphere are both great!

They have a great Rose, owner is super friendly. Staff has always been the best. Make the stop weather it's just to have a glass by yourself or a day out with your loved ones.

Awesome place! We love the staff and wine. Your welcome to bring food from outside. Kid and pet friendly. Thank you for the great experience.

fantastic- owners are a young couple just starting out. Super friendly and passionate about wine plus you are drinking wine in shadow of Red Mountain wine prices around $30. tasting $10

    Fun stop during family reunion.

One year old winery but obviously not novice wine makers. The wine maker has crafted really delicious and balanced wines that are still very adorable. They have a great story and the place itself is super well put together. Small case production of 650 but hopefully they will expand in the future. They are super smart with food pairings picking one of the hottest restaurants (ethos) to work with for their events. Delicious hummus too. Don't miss this place. I called ahead for our family reunion group and the owner was super nice and accommodating. Family owned and run.

Frichette is a great up and coming winery in Red Mountain! Definitely worth visiting when you are in the area. Greg and Shae are making some terrific red wine!

The entire place has this "European chateau" vibe that's impossible to fake -- from the architecture to the art to the view over the vineyard rows. Even the drive up feels like you're heading somewhere special. I added a note to our reservation asking for a spot by the fireplace and mentioned we were celebrating a birthday. Not only did they honor it, they nailed it. The chairs were warm, comfortable, and the whole room felt cozy in that old-world way -- fire crackling, candles glowing, and the kind of ambiance that makes you want to slow down and savor everything. The wines were bold and delicious, especially the reds. You can tell they take their craft seriously. They even brought out a little birthday treat, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the moment feel even more personal. We also ordered the cheese plate and honestly, it was perfect. Three different cheeses, a mix of crackers, olives, tiny pickles, and what I'm pretty sure was apricot jam -- everything balanced each other beautifully. Paired with the wine, it felt like the world outside just... paused for a bit. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful without hovering. They made sure we had everything we needed and explained the wines clearly, but still let us relax, enjoy, and take in the atmosphere. If you want a place that transports you, even just for an hour or two, Hedges is absolutely worth the visit. It's one of those wineries where you don't just taste the wine -- you feel the entire experience.

I absolutely adore this winery: the wine, the space, the people, the food, and the community…read more The Wine: The wines are consistently amazing and are made to be aged, without the usual high price tag that comes with that. I like bold, flavorful wine, and they have that in spades. I thought I hated Merlot, for being generally weak, but Terra Blanca's Merlot is fantastic. I thought I only liked red wine, but their Albarino is now my go-to summer white wine. I thought Rose was too sugary of a wine, but their Rose has incredible flavor without heft. I'm an enduring fan of their Block 8 Syrah, but the Cab Sauv is a close second. The Space: It's gorgeous. The building is beautiful, the grounds are well-maintained, the vineyard (which you can tour at some of their events) feels old-world-meets-tech, the cellars are amazing, and everything feels welcoming. Like, I don't just want to go here, I want to spend time here. The People: The employees are wonderful: welcoming, knowledgeable, happy, humble, and it never feels like they're just trying to sell you something. They're honest and upbeat, even at times when I *know* they must be feeling rushed or stressed. It makes the whole place feel like hanging out with friends and neighbors (but in a classy way). This is *not* the kind of winery where they pour, recite a litany about the varietal, and walk away. This is the kind of winery where you can walk in and say "I know nothing about wine" and they'll be excited to take you wherever your curiosity about wine takes you. The Food: I've eaten at the Thursday happy hours, at buffet banquets, and at a tasting/pairing event. Each time the food has been delicious, unique, and well-paired. And it's all from scratch, locally grown & grazed, etc. even their charcuterie boards are lovely (and a lot...you will not leave hungry). I recommend trying the flatbread pizzas off their wood-fired grill. Oh, and the menu changes quarterly, so I've yet to get bored with anything. The Community: In addition to this place feeling like a community, and growing one with their wine clubs and virtual tasting group, they're involved in the Tri-Cities community. I love when local small businesses support each other and non-profits in the area! They have regular events and banquet fundraisers for orgs like Children's Developmental Center and TROT. Oh, the prices? I'd call them good. High enough to convey the quality, but low enough to be approachable even for people who are just starting to try wine. And they do a lot of sales and discounts throughout the year. The tasting room prices are spot-on, which keeps Terra Blanca feeling inclusive. TL;DR: Tasty wine at affordable prices, great customer service, welcoming atmosphere, excellent food, fun events

Our tour guide Suzy had so much knowledge and she was just so friendly. She gave stories about the surrounding lands and knowledge on winemaking. What a gem she is to the whole operation!
