I don't live in MI anymore, so whenever I come to town, I try to grab a coney. My usual go to is Leo's or National. I had never been to L George's. I sat at the counter and ordered a coney combo (coney, fries and pop). It came out quickly. The dog had the perfect "snap", the chili was tasty, and the fries were nice and hot. While I was eating, several different servers checked on me to make sure I was all set. When I asked for the check, one of the servers said "it's been taken care of". I was like, what? She told me that an off duty cop who was sitting in a booth paid for my meal. Now mind you, the bill for a coney combo is not pricey, but still. I was blown away with gratitude. I recently lost my job and had just spent the first full week unemployed. The experience is humbling, having never been part of a corporate cut before. But, the time allowed me to come to MI to be with my mom while she underwent heart surgery. To the cop who bought my lunch, thank you from the bottom of my heart. To the staff at L George's...you are the best and I will be telling everyone I know. I can't wait to come back.

The second order was a large corned beef with everything separate everything, separate the bread separate both Swiss and American cheese separate the corned beef give me thousand island on the side for the extra price that they charge for the thousand island give me some mustard and give me two corn beef, eggrolls. The person was half listening. The price was over $50. I waited about 15 minutes and when I got my order, I looked at it and they had done exactly what I told them not to do on the sandwich that I asked for everything to be separate because I don't like soggy bread so I wanted to keep my bread separate. I wanted to keep my onion roll separate so I could toast it when I got home, but they gave it to me full sandwich bread on top of everything and when I let them know that they started talking back at me and as I was trying to tell them what they did wrong they weren't listening and they walked away. I hear ya, see how can you hear me if you're walking away I was so angry because it's not the first second third fourth or fifth time that they've gotten my order wrong and I had to stand there and make them get it right but this time was the worst time because the guy at the window got mad at me when I asked him. Do y'all answer the phone I've been calling Y'all over a period of weeks and you never answer the phone so he just went back there and did what he wanted to. I was so angry. I will never go back there again. Never when I got the sandwich. I had to go to another Coney Island just to get an onion roll to put on my sandwich. It was the nastiest sandwich that I've ever had from there, I had to make them give me the thousand islands that they had already charged me extra for, and I swear, as I have promoted them for being a black own restaurant with good corned beef, I will let everybody know how disrespectful those young people were at the window to disrespect me and yet charge me $50 for two sandwiches. I will never go back there again and ever give them a chance to disrespect me again good riddance since your disrespect means more to you than listening to your customers. I screamed " I am tired of this shit take this back and get my order right now or give me my money back. Never again. Not me. Several times, same shit. No more. $50 for 2 sandwiches in this economy. Bye! I will give them zero stars if I could.
