I will preface this with, I rarely give reviews. Working with Golden source began because of an ad…read moreon IG. My husband and I went out to the store, we live in the Bronx (about 50 minutes away) to check out what options they had that met our budget. We looked up the reviews. Which weren't really helpful. Some were glowing some were awful. We decided to go with GS, because we felt we liked the one stop shop for everything. Their showroom is spectacular and comprehensive. You're not pressured if you're looking around and opening and closing cabinets and drawers. My husband loved they always had sealed pastries and coffee he could make (in a covid world, that's key!) We began working with Doug, who was really great, he was patient and very knowledgeable. He was able to do the initial plans of our kitchen off of random photos, because we didn't know how to measure. He gave us his work cell, walked us around the show room, showed us options, all great! We said we'd think about it, checked out a few other places, but ultimately decided to go with GS. We went back and began the official process in August of 2020 but with someone else who no longer works at GS. We had a few very frustrating hiccups with deliveries and things not being ordered, that should have been ordered. I had a sink base cabinet that came broken (which happens and is nobody's fault) that delayed us about a month. Then my stone was out of stock. Now, these are all things that aren't the fault of anyone in particular however I am all about transparency and communication. Things happen, plans change, and we roll with the punches, but I felt I had to call GS before anything happened. I am very lucky that I had a great contractor (not associated with GS) who was awesome and patient. My kitchen was not fully complete until November. The upfront work of designing and supporting us with designing the kitchen was a 5* Ordering what needed to be ordered 3.5* Timeliness of the project 3* (i know there are production delays) Communication and transparency after the fact 2* The actual cabinet construction is great, the hinges are awesome, the tile and stone are beautiful. I would recommend this company, and will use them again.

The template guy, Javek, did an incredibly thorough job and taught me so much about what it takes to ensure proper counter care and installation. The installation team was fast and efficient. Overall, it took me 2 weeks from start to finish - from picking the stone to installation. I had the BEST experience here and I was feeling wary at first because of the previous reviews. However, I decided to go with GKB and am so glad I did. In detail, here's why I highly recommend GKB for your counters: 1) Yoselin was so attentive. I would email and call her with a million questions and she always took the time to carefully answer each one. I had her on the phone for 45 min at times and she was never impatient. I felt secure in my transaction because I had Yoselin on my side and I knew she was 100% dedicated to making sure I was happy. 2) Javek is the most knowledgeable template maker you will ever meet. He came and spent 2 hours making a custom template for wood boards. Other companies bring pieces of cardboard and guesstimate. Not Javek. This guy is responsible and exact. 3) Installation team came and had all the pieces installed in 1.5 hours. They were on time and very respectful. 4) The quotes were spot on. No hidden fees, no surprises. You can pay deposits with personal checks. Final payment needs to be in cash. 5) I had the opportunity to go in store and pick out the exact cut of the stone after my template was done. This is great - such flexibility! I literally had the opportunity to tell them which corner of the slab I wanted them to cut from and specify all the details. This process was also easy and pain free. 6) GKB has the largest selection of QUALITY slabs at the best price. I looked at 3-4 different slab vendors. Either the vendors were over pricing their stock or their slabs were uninspiring. The quartzite I ultimately chose was something I found ONLY at GKB. It was the "yes" moment I was waiting for. 7) I felt valued as a customer. They respected me and my time. At the end, I got the exact counters I wanted and they are beautiful. What more could you want?

I wish I would have checked out the reviews here first before wasting my time with this company…read more Erik's words to me were we would rather lose your business than let you select the slabs you want. Really? I should pay thousands of $ to a company to pick out what slabs they want me to have and if I don't like what they pick, their answer is to buy an entire slab or take someone else's leftovers that they couldn't sell. I understand why the reviews are less then stellar.

The ongoing pandemic has definitely taken a toll on a lot of businesses and public places since a…read moreconsumer's mindset to buy anything outside of essentials or to visit a public place like a park or beach, has crippled down significantly. Now by living with what has become the new normal, it is commendable on how these businesses and public places continue to remain open and cater to the general public by following the safety standards. It is now all the more important that we as customers, support these heroes during these dark hours to mankind. I've been to this store twice so far and did not experience any problem in finding what I needed and also while trying to return an item I had bought at a different BBB store in NY. The parking looks wide open though there are multiple different stores and restaurants that share the same parking, so finding a spot wasn't difficult both the times. The store has easy access to walk through the aisles and look for what you need with different specialty sections. We purchased some pillows once and when we walked in to return a pan, the store associate did the refund in a jiffy and we were out of the store in no matter of time. Even when there was a long queue of customers, everyone wore a mask and followed the 6' distancing and the checkout was very safe.

Also, nothing is a good price, the 20 percent off now just males it the same, or more, then the item is everywhere else.

Then we found Kitchen Cabs, our first meeting with Vanessa and Glen was great, they were very helpful and they answered all our questions, even helped us achieve the design we wanted due to our space limitations. The quality of the cabinets are amazing. You will not regret the service from them.

She working with someone else and apparently forgot to put us on her calendar. She did not say this to me rather to another worker and asked that he take care of us. No apology, no nothing. The gentleman she pushed us off to didn't identify himself. As I spoke to him explaining what we needed, all he kept repeating was "we can do it, but it's gonna be expensive". After about the 3rd time he said that I thanked him and left. I was in the store 10 minutes tops. Saying something is going to be expensive is not good business. What one person might consider expensive might not be to another. Kitchen remodeling is costly and makes people uneasy knowing that they're in to spend some serious money. A warm greeting and pleasant demeanor speaks volumes about a business and helps a potential client a great deal.

He wanted the stove on an outside wall with a good venting hood. Our cabinets were old (my house will turn 100 in 2023). You can imagine. We spoke to architects and contractors and kept increasing the budget. But we weren't able to get comfortable with a concept and so we shelved it last summer. We took an amazing vacation and decided to start over again in the Fall of 2019. A new friend told us about her experience following a flood in her home. She worked with Showcase and could not have been happier. They became one of 3 or 4 contractors we met with. They listen! They designed a kitchen that was within our new budget and had the features we most wanted. I was not looking forward to the project. Too many decisions. We were walked through every step. The project moves as quickly or as slowly as you need it to. I wanted this to happen quickly and Showcase helped me accomplish that (thank you Sondra). I love the way they work. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING gets ordered and stored in their warehouse before demolition begins. Unfortunately for me COVID hit. My project would have gotten started in March 2020. Ha!!! In late May I got a call from Showcase letting me know that work could begin. I called it Quarantine Entertainment. From demolition to completion was 2 months! June 4 to August 3. The workmen are masterful (Lou is an artist). Everyone was respectful and careful. I always felt COVID safe. There was very little dust. Almost none. Everyone week we were notified of what to expect the following week. When I requested minor tweaks they happened, no problem. I love my new space. Far more than I thought I would. It's beautiful and functional. Would I work with Showcase again? Oh yes. Maybe next I'll finish the attic . . .
