This place was definitely a hidden gem!! The service was excellent and super friendly. We only had 4 people--so when our server brought out the food and noticed we ordered a lot for 2 adults and 2 kids, she was kind enough to add another table so we'd be comfortable. The Food Lineup: * Chicken Fried rice for my daughter and it was so adorable because they made it into a shape of a heart. Love the attention to detail! * Sodduk Sodduk - 10/10! I'm a sucker for tteok so to have it in skewer form with mini sausages was a treat. The outside was kinda crunchy and the inside was nice and chewy. Loved it! * Dduk Bok Gi - not spicy so I absolutely loved it. The sauce I was slathering on top of my rice and dipping some of my K-Honey chicken in it. Yum! * K-Honey Chicken was so good! The chicken had a super crunchy outside and the inside was so juicy. I kept scraping up the sauce from the tray to get every bit. Definitely a 10/10! I loved this place and would definitely come back. Also thought the bathroom art work was hilarious. IYKYK.

Just kinda found ourselves at Ttobongee's out of our need to get something in our guts. There good, we over ordered being on the hungry side. So we got a lot of tasty food all at once. Service was great but a bit lacks. We had one dish that was turned into the kitchen wrong. The waiter hadn't written anything down. Placed by memory. He didn't add it to our tab... nice. Korean fried chicken that's what they do. And it was tasty. We had one dish that was so hot not spicy hot, 700 degree Fahrenheit hot in a stone dish. Be warned...bruh. Last words... I I'll be back.

8.8/10 Overall, a really good and satisfying meal. We started with the Galbi, which was cooked well and flavorful. It leaned on the sweeter side with a noticeable saltiness. The portion was a bit smaller than what I've had at other spots for the price, but it was still enjoyable and well-prepared. My go-to dish here would definitely be the Bibimbap. They only had chicken available (I usually prefer beef), but it still hit the spot. The egg was cooked perfectly, and I loved how the rice crisped up at the bottom of the bowl that texture really made the dish stand out. We also tried the pork dumpling soup, which was comforting and delicious. It honestly tasted like a Korean-style chicken noodle soup warm, savory, and perfect for a chilly day. The kimchi came in a small order but was very generous in portion and full of flavor. Service was fast and efficient, which I appreciated. The ambiance was clean and welcoming, with a cool Korean chicken style vibe. Even the bathroom stood out, very clean and nicely designed.

If you are considering fried chicken , then glaze these beauties . The 3 ds of chicken, crunchy skin , moist meat, salty sweet glaze flavor . VIsit this Local Gem , the people there are polite and nice , ambiance is chill and quiet. I order a 10 piece and ate them all .

Service was awesome- food was very filling and alot. Came out hot and fresh. got the 2 flavors regular and Korean chili. The regular was light and flaky and the other when it cooled became glazed and sweet. Both were very meaty and filled you up. We also got the fried rice with chicken it was also very good.

An amazing find and I'm definitely coming back!! A lot on the menu to choose from, service is great and seating/parking are good. First time here and I got a half order of their OG chicken, rice and kimchee. Make sure you bring an empty stomach, super big portions!! As soon as you get to the door, you are embraced by the smell of fried chicken!

Found this spot on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Bibimbap was okay though I have had better. Service was order at counter and then wait for food to be brought out. Very small restaurant. The zucchini was the highlight of the dish. Very fresh.

One of my best friends in Chicago is Korean. I made tteokbokki for her one time and her mom said it was really good. I guess that makes me a connoisseur right? My sister was raving about this chicken and said I had to try it. So here we went. She likes the Yang Nyum so we ordered that, and the k honey because honey drizzled on fried chicken is gods gift to earth. We also got the dduk bok gi because I gotta see what this place is working with and how they stack up. Dduk bok gi comes out super steamy hot and very brothy. Definitely spicy like it supposed to be, and it includes a whole mess of fish cake. The chicken also comes out super hot and slathered in sauce / honey. They know what they're doing so the chicken stays crispy even though it's coated in the flavoring. Now here's the amazing part: I ordered the wings/drums combo. I expected drumettes but they served full on drumsticks!! I can plow through wings but when they're full sized drums... sheeeesh! Definitely a good serving and size for your dollar. I would definitely recommend this spot for anyone with a hankering for good fried chicken. KFC may use 11 herbs and spices.... But they're definitely missing gochugaru.

Tried it out for the first time on Saturday afternoon. Portion was big for 2 half sizes & 2 different flavors. Chicken is crispy. Customer service was great. Small little whole in the wall w great good! Would definitely come back again!

In a little plaza, the restaurant was small. Seems like this is the only place to get Korean fried chicken in Monterey, I was excited and craving some fried chicken too, but was disappointed in the lack of flavor and freshness in the chicken and bibimbap. Wished there was customization in ordering the half and half chicken. Was seated down quickly and ordered #2 - Yang Nyum Chicken (combo - 5 drum and 10 wings) ($32.99) and #K4 - Dol Sot bibimbap ($18.99) . Waited about 15 minutes food which is reasonable. I think I noticed was that the table across had gloves for their fried chicken, we did not receive any, so there are some inconsistencies. When mixing into the bibimbap: super wet rice, no mushrooms, chewy unseasoned meat which definitely was NOT a ribeye meat which is a standard meat when making bulgogi. At $18.99, I can find a really tasty bibimbap in the Bay Area. The Korean fried chicken was disappointing! Saucy outside, but had no seasoning on the inside. For a full chicken, it realistically looked more like half of chicken, had to count that there were 15 pieces of chicken, since there were a few small pieces. One positive is that the meat was tender, but contained a lot tendons. Needless to say, the food was meh, I would not go again!

    Is anything gluten free?

Yes, there are dishes like Bi Bim Bop, Bulgogi, and Galbi which are all gluten free.

Do they use Gochojang sauce in their spicy one?

I can't say for certain as I didn't ask about their recipe, but I had the Half and half chicken and the spicy one definitely tasted like it had gochujang in it. I'm a huge fan of gochujang though so I loved it.

Is all the chicken spicy? And how hot is the medium spicy, is it actually pretty hot? Would like to give this place a try but it seems they cater to the spicy-only, take-it-or-leave-it crowd, which would count me out.

Yang nyum is level 1 spicy. I can't do that much spice and it's perfect for me. It's enough spice to clear out the sinuses and still have flavor. It's really good.

This was okay as I had the squash and one of the shrimp. The two meals that we ordered came with miso soup and salad (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=QNLssRbP07gLE1f9UXJygg) and I enjoyed the soup for this slightly chilly noon meal. Next, we shared the sukiyaki with beef (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=f40nJOx1Pt_G1i3TnJkHkQ), tofu + vegetables, glass noodles, soy-based soup; this came with a bowl of rice and we apportioned the sukiyaki into personal bowls to enjoy. I liked that the flavors were balanced and there as plenty of glass noodles. Our last item was the King Kong roll sushi (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=XMUp9bipmbbacgqUG13mRA), In - shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, and cucumber, Top - Tuna, salmon, yellowtail, tobiko, and secret sauce. We were their first customers and the dining rooms gradually filled to about 3/4 capacity by the time we left. There were guests dining at the outdoor tables too with the comfortably sunny weather. Both the hostess and a waitress tended to our needs in bringing our food, removing empty plates and bowls, and refilling our water glasses, both friendly and efficient. We enjoyed our meals and it was convenient. *** note - I started having stomach issues later that afternoon so, though not confirmed, I am unsure whether there was an issue with one of the sashimi items. Our meal was on Saturday 9/12/26.

My family and I arrived around 8:30 PM and were seated immediately. The menu was interesting, though I was a bit disappointed there was no dedicated kids menu. When we asked our waiter, he mentioned they did have two kid-friendly options available: a cheese quesadilla and chicken & rice. We ordered both of those, along with calamari from the starters and a Thai chicken rice dish. Unfortunately, none of it landed well for us. The cheese quesadilla came with nothing but melted cheese between the tortilla no sides, no sauce. The chicken from the kids menu needed salt badly, and the sauce that came with it wasn't to our liking either. The calamari dish was especially disappointing -- just 5 strips for $15, which felt like a rip-off, and the sauce was watery and not good. The chicken bowl came with plantains, chicken, beans, and rice, but the beans caught us off guard, they didn't mention this in the menu. Overall, we didn't enjoy any of the dishes, and the food-to-price ratio felt way off.

We ordered two bowls from the kiosk only to find that what they had left was what ended up being put in our bowls. What they had listed on the menu? Don't count on it- it probably won't be included in your bowl. Sauces? lol yeah... right... better count on a salt lick over something you'd expect to have saucy and full of flavor. Overall - a solid... DISAPPOINTMENT.

It was…read moreconveniently located near our hotel and my vegan friend suggested it even though it was her first time at a poke spot! I ordered a build-your-own bowl with brown rice, tuna, masago, sweet onion, green onions, ginger, cucumber, spicy mayo, eel sauce, and furikake, along with a California hand roll. The standout for me was definitely the hand roll. It was fresh and really satisfying. If I came back, I'd honestly be tempted to just one or two handrolls. The poke bowl, on the other hand, was a bit underwhelming. The flavors didn't come together the way I had hoped, and it didn't quite hit that fresh, vibrant poke experience I have grown to love. That said, the location is great, especially if you're staying nearby, and the overall vibe is casual and easygoing which makes it perfect for a quick, low-key meal in Big Sur. There are *some* tables and chais but not too many. The place is fairly small. The prices felt fair and it's nice to have options that work for different dietary preferences, especially for my vegan friends!

Order was double checked, chopsticks, napkins, wasabi, ginger, all the sauces were packed nicely Order was prepared in about 18 minutes, which was 2 mins faster than the expected 20 mins. Perfect! 2. Hot Food - Chicken Katsu, Salmon Bento box - Both were huge, cooked well, and held up on our walk back to our hotel where we ate on the patio. Expect being full!!!! 3. Salmon Salad - Solid set of lettuce and a generous portion of fresh salmon, highly recommend if you like fresh greens + salmon 4. Side Salad - Not only a solid serving of greens, but cherry tomatoes, broccoli, and a bunch of other nice finds completed the salad Room for improvement: 1. Chirashi - Rice was bland and the cuts of fish were 1/4" thick, which is not a great way to enjoy sashimi 2. Sushi Dinner - Overall, solid, except for the hamachi. It was rancid. I hope this was a one off. NOTE - The CA Roll and other fish were fine, but the hamachi had gone bad Overall, I'd go back, but focus on the hot food.
