We corresponded via email a few times and confirmed that they had the car that I wanted and it was still available. I wanted to negotiate a drive-off price via e-mail since I live in LA and wanted to secure a price that I was happy with before making the 100 mile drive out to Carlsbad. Will introduced me to Ash, his sales manager, and after a few more email exchanges, we agreed to a price that I was happy with. Just like Will, Ash was very friendly and professional in his e-mails to me. I was fearful that they would try to upsell me with add-ons, or make the long drive out there only to find out that the car was no longer available, but those fears were unfounded. Once my husband and I reached the dealership, Ash greeted us immediately, knew exactly who I was, and knew exactly what car and what price we agreed upon. No haggling, no bait-and-switch, no upsell tactics. We were also introduced to Will who showed my husband the vehicle for a test drive. Will was such a car enthusiast like my husband that they spent the next 15 minutes just chatting up about all the previous vehicles they had owned. He was such a pleasure to work with! He walked us through the forms and then brought us over to Leo who worked in the finance department. Just like Ash and Will, Leo was super friendly and personable. He went through our financial documents so efficiently too! The whole process at the dealership took less than 2 hours, including the test drive. My husband and I have purchased over a dozen cars through the years and we both agreed that our experience at AutoNation Mazda Carlsbad was by far the best. We spent the drive home talking about how excited we were already to buy another Mazda. This dealership is top notch. I am already recommending to my friends and relatives to make the drive out here for their next vehicle. It was totally worth it!

Beware of RECOMMENDED services suggested by JUAN at Mazda Carlsbad. At my 32K maintenance…read moreappointment (April 2026) it was recommended I do a Brake Flush and a Coolant Transfer. At the time, I declined because I like to research expensive repairs before proceeding. I called yesterday to schedule an appointment based on the 'Service Due' message on my dashboard. My car has approx 37K miles on it now so it is just out of warranty but due for an oil change & tire rotation. I purchased the service maintenance plan when I purchased the auto in National City (another story) so those services are covered until the plan expires next year. Again both a Brake Flush and a Coolant Transfer was recommended. I said 'yes' to those additional services knowing I had time to research typical cost, etc. for those services. Well, low & behold, I discover that Mazda specs recommend a Coolant flush at 10 years/120K miles! In the meantime, I called a local auto service who was APPALLED that Mazda Carlsbad would 'recommend' service that was unnecessary and didn't correspond to Mazda's official recommended service schedule. So, I called JUAN to discuss this discrepancy (recommending a service 90K miles BEFORE it was necessary). I just got off the phone with him and his attitude was 'it's recommended, but hey, it's your my decision'! Thank you, JUAN for allowing me to make my own decision, you little snake! So, even though I called him out for recommending an unnecessary service he acted as if it was no big deal trying to sell me on something my car didn't really need. Now that my car is out of warranty I will only take it there for oil changes, tire rotation and services covered by the plan until it expires next year. Oh, and by the way it appears that their service personnel seems to be different every time I go there... STAY AWAY FROM MAZDA CARLSBAD. THEY ARE SHADY AF.

Ended up getting a second vehicle for some time, brought the infinit to get it worked on, he dragged his feet for almost 4 months to get it done, had to make several calls to get anything done. I shouldn't have come back after that but gave him the benefit of the doubt. Tried to come back for something as simple as replacing a transmission cooling hose about 9 months later and he gives me the round around about getting the part that's needed, I catch him in an out right lie and subsequently get pushed off with the "I'll let ya know when the parts in the shop" which shouldn't have taken almost two weeks now. All the while I'm driving around waiting for him to get the part and the car could have a major issue leaving me on the side of the road, which Jake seems to be perfectly okay with. As a man, much less as a marine, you should have the bàlls to just tell me you're not interested in keeping me as a client but I guess veteran to veteran you don't seem to have much respect for someone whose given you a good amount of business over the years. Suppose you can't expect to much from a Harris supporter.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the quality of the repair work. I expected a much higher standard, especially from a Tesla repair facility. When I initially received my vehicle back, there were missing bolts, broken pieces, and exposed metal. I was honestly surprised that the vehicle was considered ready to be returned to me in that condition. I also noticed that the trunk lid had a large, noticeable gap that did not look right. When I brought it to the attention of the service advisor, I was told that "that's how Tesla makes them now." I did not feel that was an acceptable explanation for the fit and finish of my vehicle. The vehicle was eventually taken back and the trunk lid was adjusted. The picture I posted was taken after they made that adjustment, which shows the improvement. I had to bring the vehicle back a second time so these issues could be corrected. I also noticed that the vehicle came back with three additional issues that were not there before the repair--door dings, one on each side of the door, and a large crease on the rear of the vehicle. Overall, while the staff and customer service were excellent, the quality control and workmanship were very disappointing. I appreciate the employees who were courteous and helpful, but I expected much more from Tesla when it comes to the quality of the repairs and the inspection of the vehicle before returning it to a customer. A vehicle should not be returned to a customer with missing bolts, broken pieces, exposed metal, poor panel fitment, or new damage that was not present before the repair.
