Parts for these Ram Promaster Vans can often take weeks to get.Travis knows every possible source on the planet which really speeds things up ASAP. He encourages you to bring your vehicle back even if you are not sure about some issue. This place is a family run operation which has excellent lines of communication. Nowadays, it's hard to find good customer service and the team at auto works proves that in any which way. My truck has had so many different issues. Whether it was under warranty or ran out of warranty, they always treated me with respect. As a warranty station, they gave me quick detailed service and communicated all issues. I work in the warranty industry and it can't always be a pleasant experience, but they definitely make it very pleasant! They provide fast and quality service. They squeeze you in, they walk above and beyond to make sure the customer is happy, and mostly they double check things that was unexpected and inform you. As a regular servicer, I can't say I'm not impressed how quickly they turn things around for you. If you want good quality service, this is the spot. And they're part of the warranty network. I seldom write reviews, but I was so pleased with The Auto Works, I had to let them know! I went there for the first time to update my 1999 Jeep. Everyone was very pleasant. Provided a clear written estimate. Their communications were excellent. Turned out not everything was needed on the estimate, so work came in under cost. They serviced the brakes, installed new shocks, new alternator belt and a few other items. I cannot stress how conscientious they were to help save me some money and how well they communicated with me about the status of the work. I have referred my daughter to them. I can't say enough good things about Mark and Auto Works. He is the only truly honest mechanic I've ever come across. The work he does is clean and quick, and I'm always pleasantly surprised when it comes to the final bill. I lived in Ramona for 22 years, but now I live in Oceanside. I still drive up to Ramona to have my work done there. Mark is very good about explaining exactly what is wrong, and then explaining what he had to do to fix it. I am not "mechanically inclined" so I appreciate the explanations so I have a better idea of what's going on in my car. If there are multiple fix options, he makes recommendations based on what he feels would be the best route for the customer. On one occasion, my fiancées car wouldn't start at 10:30 at night. After checking the basic fixes, we had it towed from Oceanside to Ramona and parked it in front of his shop. I left a note and asked him to just fix it as long as it was under $500. I asked him to call me if it was going to be more. I basically gave him the green light to do anything necessary up to $500. I get a call at 10:00 AM the next morning, and he says the car is all fixed. When we went to pick it up, he explained that the cable that comes off the battery had rusted and disconnected well below what I could see. I think he charged us less than $100! I feel like any other mechanic would have created other issues to charge us closer to the $500 limit I gave him. That's the kind of trust I am talking about. At this point, I just give him the keys and tell him to call me when it's done. As far as I'm concerned, if you want excellent customer service, excellent work quality, and want to deal with a mechanic who you KNOW isn't going to rip you off, this is the only place to go. read more

I had Mark put in a timimg belt and water pump. I trusted him so i didnt check his work. Months later the water pump went out. I had three different mechanics say i needed to replace timimg belt again due to it being attached to the timimg belt. I had a very reputable shop take apart my engine they said there were three bolts broke, they had to do a helecore. So basically mark did horrible work leaving my engine completely loose when reesemblying it when he so called did the timimg belt. I will never refer anybody to auto works i had to pay over 1,200.00 to fix Marks shady work. read more

I waited three weeks for an appointment to get the front end rebuilt on my work truck. This was after picking it on 6/26/20 for a minor servicing they did on it making it "Road Safe". I couldn't drive it for 3 weeks because they didn't fix certain issues I asked them to take care of the first time. I was unable to use my truck for work! When I picked my truck up on 6/26/20 , Mark the owner had given me a price on rebuilding everything involving the front end for $3,500. I approved that, and scheduled an appointment for 7/13/20. He said at the time my truck was road safe. 1st day driving it to work my truck broke down in a remote location! Water heater hose fitting broke. There was indications of somebody working up there. 21/2 hours on the side of the road I managed to McGiver it so I could get to work. I call Mark that morning! A day later the shifting problem he supposedly addressed on 6/26/20 reared it's ugly head! I almost didn't make it to work once again. I had to turn around and limp my truck back home. Had to swap all my tools over to my little Ford Focus and drive it to work! The truck was parked until I drove it down to Mark's shop, ATUO WORKS, on Sunday 7/12/20 It sat at his shop until Thursday 7/16/20, and he hadn't done a thing to it! I ended up taking it out of his shop yesterday, and making arrangements to have a neighbor bring me back to pick it up yesterday evening. Worst thing of all he handed me my keys back with a smile on his face, and no apology for not taking care of my truck like agreed upon 4 weeks earlier. The repair work was suppose to have cost me close to $4000. Nothing to sneeze at, but he just couldn't find the time to work on it. Even after making me wait 3 weeks that I could not use my truck from his prior repair! Don't take your vehicles to be repaired here. I have no idea why he is so busy????? Mystery to me. If I could give them no stars I would. He screwed me over, and cost me $400 in lost wages, minimum. Top it off smiled at me when I took my truck back from him yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!
