I visited this restaurant for the second time four days ago. The menu prices, ambiance, restaurant cleanliness, and service were average. My catfish was fried too hard, and tastes like it had been fried in old grease. The hushpuppies were too dry and doughy. I also did not enjoy the potato salad. There will be no return visits for me. I'm not interested in sampling other menu items, even though I love fried crabs, french fries, and fried shrimp. read more

The fish and shrimp was fried in old grease. The fish was supposedly whitening, it was rubbery tasted horrible. The shrimp was big, however the grease was old and the coating was soggy. I wouldn't recommend this establishment to anyone. read more

My experience here was the worst. I've always gone to his ex-wife on Colley Avenue in Norfolk, but I decided to go to him and give him another chance. He lied about the size of the crabs. I asked him if he had jumbo fried and he said yes! I paid for jumbo but when I got the crabs, it was just full of gummy crab dough because it wasn't crust and they were extremely small. The inside of the fried crabs weren't clean and my steam crabs were dirty as well. What I was hurt about more than anything is that he lied about the price. My sister and I got the exact same thing and he charged me $10 more. I'm trying to understand why people keep going there. Some people don't care and some people just don't know. They only had "jumbo" crabs (of course the higher price). The jumbo was NOT any larger than a small Jimmy. They didn't even clean the insides out of the crabs before frying them. I will never buy from them again. read more

I'm always telling people about this place but I may have to chill out for awhile, brought a friend here to let them try the fried crabs, fried shrimp and steamed crabs. it was empty and we waited about 20 minutes...thats about the same wait time for when they're busy so maybe that's just normal who knows. The shrimp were hot & had a nice quick as per usual, my friend really enjoyed them. The crabs though....they were seasoned and battered well but were small and had been frozen before they were steamed/fried and it was a big let down given we'd planned to feast on them...I still like this place though....I may only come here during crab season moving forward (and not the winter) read more

I was super excited to come back to Ts and get some crabs so I went on Saturday around 430 ( wrong idea ) everyone & their Mother's were in there about 20 people waiting and another 10 at in line . Cool not a problem I expected it , it is crab season . I ordered two pair of fried crabs & 1/2 dozen steamed . The wait was about 45-50 mins . It is VERY warm in the building so bring a fan or sit in your car & boast the AC like I did . Usually not anywhere to sit so your car is the best choice read more

The fried crabs are fried to perfection and very tasty. Batter was not too thin and not too thick. I bought 2 jumbo crabs but I gave it 4 stars because one of the crabs was big the other was small. I love that I was in and out without a l hour wait (unlike T&T's) and that the restaurant was open inside as opposed to having customers wait outdoors in the sun. Great place for seafood. Followed T's from Colley Ave. Haven't tried all they have because I'm partial to their fried crabs. Did try the regular flounder sandwich. I was wandering around norfolk with a crazy hankering for steamed shrimp & stumbled across Ts! It's a basic takeout seafood market, I came in ordered a 1/2 lb of steamed. I almost said "heavy seasoning" but stopped myself for some reason & im glad I did bc the shrimp was (imo) super spicy! I've never had steamed shrimp with that much KICK! I really enjoyed it & the shrimp were super plump! If you're not a fan of spicy food I would definitely let them know to go ez on the seasoning prior to completing the order. read more

I've been there several times but this past time was enough for me to never return...when I questioned the freshness of the fried crabs based on the batch I got a few days prior all of a sudden she didnt speak english! The guy at the counter dropped a couple crabs from the warmer on the floor and picked them up and put them back in the steamer. He looked at me to see if I saw him is what makes it worst. I stopped-in on Friday, August 21, 2020 around 2:00 pm. I was hoping to find a great seafood establishment close to my home. When I arrived, they had a big board on the wall with their menu. I was really in the mood for some crab cakes. When I asked the fellow who was taking the orders what was available, they basically just had shrimp and scallop dinners. When I asked him about crab cakes, and other things that were on the menu, he just said they'd have them later in the week. I left with nothing to eat. I ended-up buying salmon stuffed with crab at another establishment. I have no idea what their seafood is like and I guess I I'll never know since the guy has no customer service skills.
