We booked this hotel while planning our trip as it was one of the more affordable places on the western side of Puerto Rico, and considering the area, it did not disappoint!
The area looks a little sketchy as there are many abandoned businesses nestled in between operating businesses and a couple of blocks near the Mayaguez plaza which is very nice. There are some restaurants, bars, and stores within walking distance, but they are limited and if you stay during the week many close early.
The streets are vary narrow one ways so it is essential that you get a smaller vehicle and upon entering the area we thought we'd have to park on the street; however, they do have a small parking lot but the spaces are tight (not an issue if the hotel is not busy).
As for the accommodations, they were very good! They are your basic rooms (at least the one we got) with mostly everything you need (there is no microwave) and very comfortable beds and pretty quiet for the area. No restaurant on site but they do offer some light snacks and beverages for purchase.
This property also has a small laundry room (very clean) with one washer and dryer and it is coin operated only at 2.00 per wash/dry which is greatly appreciated since I always do laundry before packing up upon return. There is also a small gym as well as an outdoor pool with just what you need and very clean.
The lobby area was very warm and inviting with nice decor. The employees were all very nice, friendly, and accommodating. This is also a very "green" hotel, which I love as they have three recyclable containers for plastic, paper, and cans which is appreciated; however, they can be a little "too green" as there was never enough coffee nor toiletries replenished in our room so I had to constantly ask, but I get it as they do not want to waste any supplies unnecessarily. read more
