The hotel is very clean and well attended and the hotel staff were all very courteous and professional. Free offsite parking was key because street parking in the surrounding area is a nightmare. The location is great, very close to the Plaza as well as a great selection of restaurants, coffee shops and bars.

The front desk employees are courteous and friendly. The location is convenient as there are several restaurants walking distance and there's a Ricomini Bakery right across the street and the plaza Colón and cathedral are beautiful and well kept and basically you can see them out your window depending on where your room is as it's on the street right behind the hotel. The helados (ice cream) chinos are really close by too. You can't leave Mayaguez without having some. They have a coffee machine in the hotel lobby that is available all the time that honestly makes the best cafe con leche. It was so tempting to go over my daily caffeine allotment. Truly surprised at how delicious that dang cafe con leche was. Parking is safe and included. I think they need to improve the housekeeping as one day they cleaned the bathroom but inexplicably didn't make my bed. Also there were no blankets at all in the room just a thin sheet on the bed. I suspect this is a way of fighting the high electric rates of LUMA. If you don't have a nice warm blanket you'll be more likely to be conservative in how you use the air conditioner. The breakfast while provided could be improved. They should add yogurt to the offerings. And include fruit of some sort. They only had eggs one morning out of 3. It was pancakes or French toast and bacon or ham most days. Not bad but fruit and yogurt for those trying to eat healthy would be appreciated. If I could add on an additional half a star I would.

It is in conscientious, safe place. Easy drive to beautiful Rincon and Hobo beaches. The only downside is the clanging of the church bells next door that for some reason go off EVERY morning before 6:00 and lasts a long time. Not good! Maybe these bells are not heard on the new part of the hotel? We prefer the quint old side with the outdoor balcony. We would stay again.

They said it's set up that way and they can't do anything about it and hope I could sleep with the noisy A/C I couldn't sleep the first 2 nights and had to buy me some medicine for the cold as I was getting congested. Employees are never on the front desk, they're sitting on the cafeteria or on the guest sitting area. Breakfast is a cup of coffee and a pastry. I went down to the lobby to get a cup of coffee one night had my jacket on because how freezing is my room is & one of the employees (manager on duty) had the nerve to tell me that the coffee was for guests only. I showed him my room key and he just said Ah bien que tenga buena noche. They took my face and hand towels two days ago and never brought clean ones until now. Btw the rooms have a thermostat but it's not connected to the AC unit. I paid in full two months prior coming. Hot water takes forever to come out. I'm planning to come to Mayagüez every other month to visit child at the university but I'm definitely not staying here.

It is a secluded and hidden property. It feels very peaceful because it's quiet and relaxing which makes it a great place if you are looking to truly relax and disconnect. from the fast pace of life. The pool area is beautiful and very large, which makes it a great place to lounge and enjoy the tropical atmosphere. I also really liked the beach bar café next to the pool, where you can grab drinks and snacks while enjoying the view. I really enjoyed ordering many pina colada's which were so delicious. The grounds of the property are pretty and well landscaped, which adds to the relaxing feel of the resort. However, there are a few things that could really improve the experience. The rooms definitely need renovation and upkeep. Since the property is older, the wear and tear really shows. A fresh coat of paint and an overall renovation of both the interior rooms and some exterior areas would make a big difference. The resort only has one main restaurant, and while some of the staff were very nice, a few of the servers had dispositions that were not very welcoming. Another thing I felt was missing was a small gift shop or convenience store on the property. It would be very helpful to have a place where guests could buy things like drinks, snacks, sunscreen, hats, magazines, or Puerto Rico souvenirs. The beach access could also be improved, as it wasn't as easy or convenient as expected for a beachfront property. It is situated on the beach, but it was not an ideal place to walk or sit on the beach as it was too rocky and an only a small area of sand. That said, I truly enjoyed my stay because of the destination wedding and the beautiful setting. It was a wonderful event and I am glad I experienced the resort. However, because of the condition of the rooms and some of the limitations of the property, I personally would not stay here again unless renovations were completed.

I…read moreloved the balcony too, with its fabulous view of the ocean, but my favorite part was the lounge chair with foot rest next to the bookshelf.... I loved sitting there with my coffee and reading my book. Our suite was the "Banana", which had a fairly large Jacuzzi. I didn't think I would be interested in soaking in warm water (hello, Caribbean!), but after a morning of diving and some time spent in the cold pouring rain, it sounded perfect, and it was extremely relaxing. It was a great preparation for my afternoon nap. We booked the LemonTree over the internet - the website was very web 2.0, showing real time booking status of each room. The online booking was itself painless. When we arrived in the afternoon of our first day in Rincon, we found an envelope with our name on the office door, greeting us and giving us directions to our room. We may not have ever seen our hosts at all if Martin hadn't gone to the public area to use the grill one night. The couple who run the place were both quite friendly. Speaking of dinner, we cooked all our meals in our room. The kitchenette was pretty tiny, and one of our burners didn't work at first (Martin reconnected it pretty quickly). But we managed to make some decent meals. Rincon has at least one decent-sized supermercado about fifteen minutes from the LemonTree, where we stocked up on groceries. There are multiple beach toys provided, including noodles, boogie boards, and floats for the kids. There really isn't much beach, though - it appears to have probably washed partially away over time. So there isn't a lot of room to lounge on the sand, but the water is easily accessed. I would love to come back to the LemonTree. Next time we'll probably trade the Jacuzzi for the suite with the larger kitchen. But either way I know I will be happy.
