I like this hotel because of it's location, architecture, and staff.
I spent a week here. It's deep in the heart of Mayaquez. It is surrounded by medical facilities, a Cathedral, and a plaza. This wasn't a hotel surrounded by tourists. I felt like I was the only person touring the area. The town was beautiful and clean, especially around the hotel, and plaza.
A wonderful bakery is just around the block. It is open until midnight. I spent every evening sampling a fresh baked good. Amazing flan of all kinds.
The rooms do smell of mildew. The sheets are often damp from the humidity. It's hot and humid, and the wood from the cabinets are very strong smelling. Although the rooms are clean.
One large downside to the hotel are the bells of the Cathedral which ring a great deal. Although, after a week or so, I got used to them.
The building itself is well designed. Lots of balconies, pool, food areas, and views. The ceilings in my room were 25 feet high. The main lobby is very modern and clean. The Tapas restaurant was clean, and enjoyable.
The staff were very nice, and fun to chat with. read more
