My husband and I stayed at Lemon Tree Oceanfront Cottages last June 2018. We were traveling with my Aunt. Her room door lock was broken, the floor was dirty, and there were no smoke detectors or sprinkler system in either of our rooms (violation of Federal law). There was garbage on the floor, stains on our bed cover and the jacuzzi tub was cracked. Our bath towels were not bath towels but microfiber cloths. Per the manager we were told the jacuzzi had been broken for three weeks. We stayed for 12 hours and then left. They charged me $56 cleaning fee and when I complained to Visa, I was told I signed a legal agreement and had to pay even though THEY did not comply with the agreement by supplying us with a clean room, I still had to pay. My Aunt called her American Express card co. & told them not to put the charge through for her room, so Lemon Tree charged US for her room when they did not receive payment. They took the top of my reservation form and put it on top of her form and sent it to MY VISA card co. stating I agreed to pay for my Aunt's room. Fraud. The owners do not care about complaints. They never once called my Aunt, American Express, me or my Visa to work this out. There are so many other nice places to stay in PR. We left and stayed at Parador El Faro in Aguadilla 20 minutes away. Much nicer & much cheaper. There is also no access to the beach as repairs were not made after Maria hit. read more
