Good food, I went there with a friend for lunch and then came back a few days later with the hub for dinner. Same good quality. I got the Thai fried rice both times because it was so good. I usually don't get fried rice because to me it's more like a side dish. Great flavor and it really hit the spot, both times. They are slightly high end. Nice staff, clean bathrooms. There are only four of them in the world Chiang Mai, Bangkok, DC and front Royal. Not sure how one landed in front Royal but I'm glad it did. I've been to Thailand twice and this restaurant made me miss it, I just might schedule a trip. read more

When Try Thai opened it was the best Thai food I had ever had. Over time the quality has gone downhill. The food is passable but I find that the food is not consistant at all. Every time I order my favorites, the flavors are different. Not bad... just different. The pad thai is a good example. Initially it was amazing. Then ordered again and it had cherry tomatoes in it. At a later time it had a reheated texture but the flavor was good. Next time it had zero flavor. If only they could return to consistantly delivering the food they started with I would rate them 5 stars easily because that is the level they were at. read more

You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but my all-time favorites are the Tom Kar Soup and fresh rolls to start, with a refreshing Lycheetini. Then, my boyfriend and I always get the Krapow Duckling which can only be described as *chef's kiss* amazing. The Drunken Noodles are fabulous and full of flavor. The egg fried rice? Phenomenal! The Pad Thai is totally yummy! If that wasn't enough, they have an extensive beer and cocktail menu, and the best service ever. Seriously, go to Try Thai. You won't be disappointed. read more

Food was wonderful, but im rather disappointed with the way I was escorted to the back immediately because I had my service dog with me. I mentioned that she's a service dog and was told "I'll have to ask the manager if that's ok" and I just said whatever to make it easier on the family that was with me. Poor first experience We decided to try this place and ordered a variety from the menu. Their excuse for sushi was disgusting. Dried out rice with no flavor like they forgot vinegar, very small portions of fish and poorly put together. I had one piece and couldn't even eat the rest it was so dried out. The seafood soup was also very disappointing. They should call it mushroom soup because it was bulked out with a ton of mushroom and had exactly one single piece of seafood in it. Just driving through town you wouldn't expect a Thai place as good as any you'd find in DC. And spotting this place is hard, because they can't have a big sign. You want it spicy? They can do that. They can do that more than you might think. They also have sushi, but I'm not a sushi guy so I can't speak to that. read more

Cute place but food was bad. We had Tom yum soup-it tasted like the mix I buy at the Asian food store-expect it was. Had papaya salad-it was hot w lime-those were the only flavors it was missing the tamarind, palm sugar. The pad see ew had good noodles-but the dish was tasteless. Try Thai is fantastic! I had the panang curry with chicken and Thai tea. It was the perfect combination because the tea is sweet and creamy and the curry was delicious and spicy (but not overly). My husband ordered the drunken noodle with extra spice. He eats Thai once a week and said this was spectacular. The chicken pot stickers were a great appetizer and were crispier than most. All in all, I could not recommend Try Thai more highly! Everyone should try Try Thai! read more

Great ambiance and delicious food. I like the spacious seating and tall industrial ceilings with a brand new floor and modern lightling, very subtle and welcoming. They have some beautiful outdoor seating too, but couldn't enjoy it coz of the cold weather. Service is very nice and quick. I heard they have some nice live music sometime, but it wasn't there when I was there. They allowed me to carry my puppy to my dining booth, assuring it is not disturbing other customers. We went in at almost closing time, but they were very friendly and didn't bother or rush us after their business hours. Try Thai was very good. I highly recommend. For our appetizer we got the wings which were just the right amount of spicy and sweet. We got the gold nuggets which were also excellent. I personally got the pad see ew which was also great. The rice noodles tasted delicious. For dessert we tried the banana roll and the mango sticky rice. The banana roll was sweet and crispy from the egg roll wrapping, delicious. The mango sticky rice would have also been great but unfortunately the mango was not ripe. All in all my experience was fabulous and I would highly recommend to anyone! read more

I've ordered most of their menu since they've been open and every dish leaves me happy. I usually always settle on the soup, however. Nat, the owner, is the sweetest business owner that is dedicated to making sure your experience is always 100%. I was even given a rose with a carry out order last Valentine's Day weekend! This was our second time eating at Try Thai and the first time we had such a great experience. Both times we ordered the eel sushi burger. First time the eel portion was a great size and so delicious! This time, the eel was half the size than before and my eel was so rubbery that I could not eat the skin. It was completely disappointing. Not to mention we waited for over an hour for our meal and by the time our meals arrived mine was cold. Customer service was not on par and the place only had 3 tables which made no sense why we waited so long for our drinks, appetizers and main course. Worst experience ever at any restaurant. Given we came on a Saturday night, I understand things can be busy. However to be left at a table for 45 minutes without any contact initiated by a server, it was quite frustrating. We ordered drinks, appetizers, and main courses to make it easy on the server. We had a child with us, which was why we ordered appetizers. Our beverages arrived quickly but that was the only positive of the evening. After 35 minutes I got the attention of our wait staff, who assured me our food was arriving in a few minutes. After 10 minutes I had to find the waitress to no avail. I was then able to talk to the Owner, who apologized and said he would find out what was happening with our order, but he disappeared into the kitchen never to return. In the meantime they delivered the child order. I then waited outside the kitchen with an assistant manager and finally went back to the table. The waitress then arrived and gave us a bill for the drinks and said they could not get our food. I'll never visit this place again and neither should you. I NEVER give a one star review, this is my first and I hope my last. Stay away. read more

THANK GOODNESS this place came to town!! WOW!! What DELICIOUS food... I'm so very happy to have such a lovely addition to Front Royal! We started with the vegetable spring rolls... I'm in LOVE! My husband had the Pad Thai w/tofu... and he pretty much licked his plate. And I had the Green Curry with veggies (rated 1 pepper spicy - still had a nice little warmth to it - I'm not sure I'd go any spicier)... honestly, I'm finding it hard to express the sheer JOY my tastebuds experienced! They are still dancing as I write this review. The staff couldn't have been more pleasant or more efficient. We met the owner, Nat, and she is just as charming as her restaurant's food. The atmosphere is relaxing, (lovely music was a major plus), and the interior is fresh and open. Front Royal can only be lifted in the eyes of visitors, as well as locals, by having this amazingly scrumptious addition on Main Street. How lucky we are! We consider ourselves regulars already, and we will be back to dine in, as well as take out. Yay!! Oh... if only I could STUFF more in now! read more
