I have lived in the U.S. for years and never get asked for ID for ordinary retail purchases, so in the context of being watched throughout the store, this felt like racial profiling rather than a neutral store policy. What made the experience especially upsetting was the contrast between the store's self-presentation and how I was treated. This is a vintage/counterculture-looking space in San Francisco, with a sign at the entrance advertising itself as the city's "No. 1" vintage store, yet I was made to feel like a risk object rather than a customer. I did not feel welcome or trusted as a non-white customer, and I would not feel comfortable returning.

While I don't necessarily wear this look, I totally dig it. I do like the wearing nightgown as camisoles look. That look is still very chic if paired correctly. Friend and I spent some time here browsing after our Algerian eats from across the street. Fun shop that I would come back to.
