So sad they were size 9 I wanted them so bad
Crystal G.

Weeks before we went to San Francisco we were searching for places to go. Of course, this was definitely on my list. No one has better vintage than San Francisco and this store might be the best ! 5 star experience. I want everything in here ! #BornInTheWrongDecade#FiveStars #ILoveTheFifties #SaddleShoes #PillboxHat

Receipt from purchase
Devin S.

My visit to Relic Vintage earlier today left me with mixed feelings. The unique finds and small business vibe is something I cherish in the city. A ring (not vintage but designed by an artist the store is connected with) purchased by my roommate was unfortunately the wrong size, and he was assured it was returnable within 30 days (see photo). When I tried to exchange it just a few days after Christmas, the staff insisted that "returnable" meant only exchangeable, not refundable. This contradicted the explicit language on the receipt. Their rationale, citing potential financial strain (YIKES), seemed inconsistent with the transparent communication one expects from a reputable establishment. I recognize the balance between customer satisfaction and business viability. But have to say that we all learn that maintaining consistency and transparency in policies is essential for fostering trust. Word of mouth is HUGE for my business (also small) and I unfortunately have already warned friends about the experience which is something I didn't want to do.

My dog and bf sat at cute sofa while they chat with friendly staff Ricky.

Francis/Janis and Ricky was darling! They gave us such wonderful service. I was in here to find one of my mentor a gift and she was into high quality vintage items. I'm so glad I found this place because she guided me through accessories that would fit her style. And even gift boxed it. Such a sweet staff! Highly recommend will come back soon!

$32 shirt with stains and discoloration

Recommend thorough inspection so you don't pay $32 for a discolored and stained shirt as I did yesterday. Take your time as the staff won't look out for you and try to see your pieces in the light. I took a better look the next day when I got home from traveling and was so disappointed. I'm not able to return for exchange within 30 days, which is what I was doing there in the first place.

Kimono

I had researched Relic before coming in to shop. First of all, parking on Haight on a Sunday is the actual worst. But, after thirty minutes of dedication, I finally made it! The store is super cute, nestled in and it's very small and cozy. It is vintage galore with a wide assortment of many beautiful pieces. I found an absolute dream kimono that I am quite obsessed with. The ladies were quite kind and advised that I could try things on. They had some classic television playing and it was quite nice inside. They have loads to look at and even have children's vintage, which is quite fun. They were friendly and helpful in suggesting pieces that I might be looking for. The prices were quite steep in my opinion, though it is genuine vintage, so you have to fight your battles on that one. Otherwise, I had a pleasant experience and would return.

70 for the most worn out bolo tie ever. Go to the vintage place 3 blocks down Haight towards the park. Much cheaper

Boutique store with some cute clothing. Way overpriced compared to the other vintage stores on Haight and elsewhere.

It is the end of an era…read more Held Over closes this weekend - https://www.sfgate.com/local/article/haight-st-vintage-closure-22283146.php My heart hurts thinking about the profound loss of this special store - that continued to remain relevant and remarkable since 1976. Held Over was always genuine. It never tried or aspired to be something that it wasn't. It's vintage was affordable and timeless and it's staff were always helpful and kind. I am glad that the many items that I have hand selected from here over the years will continue to live on. If you happen to be in SF and reading this review - today is the perfect day to pay homage to a magical spot that has persevered through San Francisco's always changing business landscape. Today will be the last day to buy items from this thrift wonderland. Thank you Held Over for the beautiful memories and vintage threads. I heart you. Trust.

Of the stores on Haight, Held Over has been there and endured. You will need to hunt a bit, but…read morethey have so many pieces from a range of time periods. Plus, they are thoughtfully organized in sections from vintage windbreakers, to even older dresses from the 30s & 40s. There is a section for hats, glasses are kept in the glass cases at the cash wrap. While this isn't my favorite shop on the block, they do have specific finds. I've not found anything I felt worth buying based on my own style; but it is worth a walk-thru if you like to hunt and see pieces from the past. Also, big denim section, and extensive knitwear selections.
