While it is a cute store with a nice selection of men's and women's vintage items there is much to be improved upon mainly the customer service. I had a rude interaction with my checkout and I will not be going back - the price of an item I was looking to buy was miss marked, and they insinuated I was wrong and couldn't read the tag. This is a really cute place. It's a small business and I think a woman of color runs or owns it. I like the curation of vintage clothing they have. I do think it's a bit pricy for vintage clothing but it's well curated. They sell cute accessories and stationary things as well. read more

Indigo Vintage has some of the best inventory for vintage and archival pieces on Haight Street. With so many more historic shops on the block, and them being a bit more new, they really pack a powerful punch with their inventory and multi-source model for getting clothes in. The store is organized rack-by-rack and arranged with a rack-per-vendor type of approach. There are dozens of racks, and each vendor has a different vibe and speciality. Some vendors focus on vintage tour tees, other focus more on vintage sports gear, others focus on sportswear basics. You can really browse in this store and see something from the past that sparks a memory and deep nostalgia. The prices can be a bit steep, but the pieces here are true retro and archival pieces. It is more new school as a vintage qualifier, but if you have the patience and the right knowledge, you can come out with something good. I've found vintage ULCA sweaters for my cousin (go bruins) and have found my favorite hood, a 1996 Olympics hood with embroidered detail in all-black. This place has a bunch of super cool vintage farm 60s 70s 80s 90s I need an early 2000s as well. Refined by prices and the average in stores things are in very decent shape and they're easy to go through. The customer service and experience I reported in Feb 2019 was shameful and disrespectful to the Thrift community. While shopping and networking the treatment received was shameful and as you'll see below things haven't Changed much since then. Instead of reaching out to me directly to remove my post the manager is having several Mutual parties to her dirty work. This is unprofessional & harassment at this point. As someone who is also in customer service, I completely understand how exhausting / tiring it can be, sometimes, but the service here was unnecessarily rude. My partner and a couple of our friends came in today to window shop. When we got into the second subset of the store, there was apparently an incline in the floor boarding that was covered by a carpet. My partner tried their best to be careful but it turns out it wasn't an incline but a very hollow and loose part of the floor boarding, causing their ankle to roll and twist, falling to the floor completely. My partner has already suffered previous ankle injuries. My partner did not want to be a bother, so they gently went to two workers in the front of the store and told them about what happened should no one else trip, since it is a safety hazard to cover something like that with a carpet. They were quickly dismissed with a curt reply and when my partner's back was turned, they glared at them and shook their heads. We can only hope this will shed light on how to better treat customers and not ignore safety hazards such as these. read more

A little bit pricey, but they have a great collection of vintage clothing from the 70's to 90's in excellent condition. We were given great customer service from the minute we walked in until we left. My daughter was looking for high waisted 80's jeans and the sales person was so helpful and pulled at least 20 pairs of jeans for her to try on. Super cute store and we will definitely be back to checkout the selection. read more

Indigo has a good selection of vintage/curated pieces so I always try to stop by when I'm vacationing in San Francisco. I used to go out of my way to browse through the pieces they have for a good 30-60 min every trip!Unfortunately the past few times I've gone in the staff have been unfriendly with a look of pure boredom on their faces. Every time I come in, there's always a new employee with the same bad attitude. Prices have also gone up drastically. Finally a vintage store that gets me! Right when I walked in I felt as though I was being welcomed into a friend's home. The girls in the store were around enough to help but I didn't feel pressured or watched the whole time I was looking around. The different selection of clothing was incredible and there was seriously something for people of all shapes and sizes. I've seen this business grow from van, to Berkeley store-front, to this location on Haight street and each time it gets better and better. It's hard to walk in here and not leave with something and by something I'm talking minimum 3 shirts. There's a lot of vintage out there but Indigo and all the vendors in there bring new meaning to the word curation. Walked in one day on a afternoon, door was open with no special signs. Was not greeted, by either of the 2 employees there. not more than 20 seconds later i was told the store is actually closed and that they are not open. I proceed to tell him, either put a sign up or lock the door so nobody comes in if you don't feel like getting bothered. But then again, what is one to expect from a generation with no manners of any kind. Its kinda obvious this store is geared more towards the uppity hipster crowd who likes dressing up in clothes made before they were even born. read more

Hands down the best vintage shop in the Haight/Ashbury area! My girlfriend found a nice pair of older Levi's and fell in love with them. This place had trash costumer service. Would never EVER go again. My sister was followed and harassed by one of the workers when she was peacefully trying to shop. She was accused of stealing when there's no possible way she could have stolen anything on account of her wearing a literal crop top and a fanny pack. She was probably harassed because she was the only women of color shopping in the establishment the time. This happened on 1649 Haight st. She specifically went to support her local businesses and the sale they had going on but boy she was wrong. The employee handled the items my sister had TWICE before she had gone in and out of the dressing room. The employee also lied the her manger claiming she asked my sister nicely, but she basically chased my sister out of the store and yelled down the block that there was missing items(surprise surprise there was not) My sister DESERVES a formal apology. She was humiliated by this business. read more
