Very smooth talkers lie the whole time give you dates that you need to cancel by and you canceled before that date and they said oh you signed the contract and they said seven business days not seven days they are thieves liars they don't show up when they say they going to Please do not ever recommend or use this company. read more

IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD! There is a reason why there is only one review that is mostly positive while ALL others are 1 or 2 stars. This is not just one or two people with a bad experience years ago who decided to keep a grudge. DO NOT use this company. My son used them for an out of state move. If we had had more time to investigate (timing of our situation didn't allow for much of it) we would have RUN the other way. They overcharge by making an initial estimate of cost that didn't reflect reality then sent a different company truck with drivers who demanded the additional money up front and in cash. The contract stated a dedicated guaranteed date of delivery and now three weeks later, they still say 4-6 more days. Thats right. They picked up his stuff with a delivery date 4 days out and we are looking at a month late as they hold 90% of everything he owns including clothing, furniture and more. We have lodged complaints with the BBB and several state and interstate transportation boards and are investigating using an attorney. DO NOT DO WHAT WE DID and think that surely it can't get worse. It has. At. Every. Turn. Rude, disrespectful and dishonest from day one. Only one dude, Jacob, pretends to care. Dominique is a nightmare. Long story short, believe what people are saying because they are all saying the same things. I'm hoping this helps even one person choose another company and not wake up to a nightmare like we did. read more

Midland Van Lines is the worst company to work with. We were told by James that Midland was family & veteran owned. James had also given an guaranteed delivery date of August 5th to my family. All my lifelong belongings and everything important to us had not shown up. I called Midland several times, and never had anyone pick up the phone. Dominique had finally answered but she was very rude and seemed agitated, she didn't listen to anything we had to say and numerously cut us off and told us our guaranteed delivery date was a typo and regardless of it being a signed contract, that she can't help us and went to hang up the phone. After multiple calls and emails, we were told stuff would be delivered to Virginia on either August 27, or August 28th. Many of our family members changed their plans for the week so our mother could find the first flight out Virginia and help out with the move. It is the night of the 28th and we are now being told our belongings never left, and that we will be getting them A WEEK from now. We have been lied to and deceived by this company and their antics. This is costing us thousands of dollars for our family. Midland will ignore calls and be rude towards you for no reason. DO NOT use this company. read more

worst company ever. they add charges triple of what they quoted. I told them an 18 wheeler can't fit in complex and they sent an 18 wheeler just so they could charge a $500 fee to get a shuttle for extra money. supervisor Dominique hung up on me because I had and issue with the triple charge despure that I told her an 18 wheeler can't fit plus they triple cha me the day of moving and said I could cancel but I'd lose $1800. now they want to charge me for $500 additional shuttle getting into the complex. worst liars ever. don't use this company ever. as a supervisor to hang up and yell at a customer is totally unacceptable. I had to give one star. They don't deserve a single star read more

This was the worse moving experience I've ever had. Nothing they advertised was true. LIES, LIES, LIES. They Broker all of their moves. After you give your deposit, you can forget it cancelling. They will not refund your money. DO NOT USE this company!! They have NO integrity. They quoted me one price and when they arrived the price with up almost $3,000.00. I was stuck because I gave a deposit. Unacceptable. The original representative I spoke with even prayed that I would accept their offer. Now I see why he did that. I never write bad reviews, but I could not let this one go. I'm writing this review to help someone else. Save yourself the heartache and pain. Use a different company and check as many review companies as possible. I only wish the other review was posted before I chose this company. read more

Worst customer service. Different price than initial quote. They move and store your items several times increasing damage (ruined two of our most expensive items with damage totalling $2,000). They out source moves to the lowest bidder and then that 3rd party doesn't abide to sign contracts and will charge you whatever they want. No one answers the phone or email for customer service. The 3rd party movers ignore follow up. I'd rather uhaul myself next time and save the money. Also pretty sure the 3rd party movers used my information to sell data or steal my identity. I've gotten an absurd amount of scams and my employer has been contacted on my behalf for loans. Please be careful!!! read more

3 weeks to move from IL to Nh. First quote by Adrian who assures he is an expert. $20000 including $8000 immediately. Dates for move set 3 days before escrow closes & buyers move in. Now, a call after the above but only 7 days before pick-up "Michael" calls to review furniture and confirm Adrian's $20,000 est. Michael says $30,000. They have me in bind. Can't get another mover and they have $8000. During the move they called and asked for several thousand dollars to pay for switching to smaller trucks ("to navigate smaller roads"}. i paid. On delivery day same big truck, no change, and they did not return the $1800 x 2 for smaller trucks. In fact they wanted $4400 cash, no certified bank check, before they would unload. Now the end: 3 weeks IL to NH. Where was this parked? Who picked it over. Multiple items missing: clothes, antiques, small but valuable items. Complaint to Midland opens a door to confusion and impossible tasks. What they want , in reality, is to make a complainer just give up. When leaving they said they weren't garbage men and refused to take cardboard, which I had pre-paid for as part of clean-up. Final opinion: movers just kids doing day work and lack the "5 years" that Adrian assured. 3 weeks to move makes me think this firm has few trucks and you get moved when they are lucky to get truck near you. I am requesting a refund of the $1800x2 and the price Adrian quoted. read more

Stay away from this company. We are currently using them for our move. we spent hours on the phone with the salesman providing him with a detailed inventory. The original estimate was $10k. They arrived today to pick up the furniture and tell us that their estimate is wrong and the cost is now $14k. A 40% in ease because they estimated I correctly. Talk about Buyer beware, read more

STRONGLY advise you to look elsewhere for a moving company. Midland van lines is a ripoff. Started with lies from the onset saying the company is a carrier company and do not use brokers. Their movers would be wearing Midland shirts, driving midland trucks of which neither was true, on pick-up nor delivery and no ids shown. We were told 3-7 day delivery from NC to Fl. It took 19 days. When we called regarding delivery delay the rep told us it would be up to 21 business days - excluding weekends and holidays. We were told we were entitled to 300 cubic feet for the price quoted. We measured an area 7x7x6 which equates to 294 cubic feet and place all our boxes and 5 items of small furniture in that area. When the moving men came to our place in NC. the "foreman" said we were over the amount by 100 cubic feet at $5.49 per cubic ft. When I mentioned we were well under by 70 cubic ft. the foreman told me he was the professional and knew what he was doing. Of course having to have the delivery done we had no choice but to pay the extra cost of $549.00. When our delivery was finally delivered 19 days later (and being in a storage warehouse for three days I Miami) several boxes were crushed, items of value were broken and all the wheels on a filing cabinet that movers wrapped were ALL broken off. The foreman on delivery told us we could replace the wheels on Amazon. When I called customer service and complained they faulted us for packing incorrectly - we used bubble wrap, blankets and stuffed animals for protection. Very uncooperative for delivery, responsibility and concern. Again, he strongly advise you use a different company other than Midland Van lines. You'll definitely be paying a higher cost than what is quoted, and your service will not be quality service. read more

worst moving company do not use them even though they are cheap. your order will take over one month to arrive! they stop communicating with you once you make payment. the customer care is extremely rude ! they do not give a window for delivery and then decide to just show up! the driver will demand unexplained additional cash from you upon pick up! refuse them they are thieves !! have a very low suspicion for theft and file a report if needed . lastly they only refund $30 per day latw delivery -which is nothing!!! read more

What a rollercoaster of an experience to say the absolute least... To start, they arrived several days late. During this waiting period, I went back forth with their sales rep and customer service, if you can even call it customer service. their sales rep, Derek, was repeatedly rude over the phone and not helpful. Their customer service agent, Dominique is without a doubt the worst customer service agent I have ever encountered. She was rude and rather unhelpful. After asking repeatedly if there are any updates on when the truck will be arriving she proceeded to retort "what do you want me to do?" with a rather lovely attitude. Treating your customers who are paying good money is an absolute no-go in my book. To continue, they then doubled the price of the original quote on the day of pick up. I had no choice at that point but to accept as I needed to move that week. I was told the truck would be at my new home in 5-7 days and it arrived a week and a half later. The truck was unable to fit so they wanted to charge me an additional 500+ dollars for a shuttle service. In my opinion, the point of hiring a moving company is for them to handle the logistics. They certainly had my new address and could have easily determined from the get go if an 18-wheeler could fit, yet I was met with a lovely surprise of even more fees when the truck arrived. After unloading into my new home, I was greeted with boxes crushed and torn, missing items, scratched and chipped furniture, and a cracked TV screen, to name a few. This was by far a terrible and horrendous experience. I will never use this company nor recommend them to anyone. I do not wish ill will upon anyone, but honestly they should not be allowed to even be in business. read more

Our original contact with Adrian at Midland Van Lines was very good, he communicated well and was attentive to a variety of questions and concerns. This was not the case for anyone else with Midland. The final cost was nearly doubled by the time all was said and done. We were given completely wrong information by the dispatch team causing an HUGE amount of distress. The actual personal that arrived to do the moving of items were somewhat hard to communicate due to a bit of a language discrepancy for example, what is marked "fragile" or with up arrows was not even acknowledged not to mention discussing the financial end of things. . In the end we did receive our goods (felt like they were being held hostage), but what we were sold and what we got were two very different things. I would not recommend this company based on the lack quality of service and exorbitant difference in cost from what was estimated to what had to be paid to make our move happen. Lastly, after several attempts to get a response to talk to any representative after the fact proved futile. read more

Beware! This company is classic "Bait and Switch". We decided to hire Midland Van Lines because the Booking Agent LeRoy said that they did not Subcontract out the move. He said they only use Midland Van Lines employees of which many are Veterans because they specialize in Logistics. He also promised that my items would be separated by a floor to ceiling divider on the truck which would help to ensure special care of my items. LeRoy also made a list of all of the furniture that needed to go on the truck and gave me a quote. I signed the paperwork and gave a deposit. The day of the move was delayed by a day which I understand can happen but when you are moving across the country and have travel dates set, it is more than an inconvenience! When the movers came, I was horrified to see that they were subcontractors and that there were no dividers whatsoever on the truck! Furthermore, he asked to look at the furniture to be moved and then proceeded to give us a new invoice for double the amount! I explained to him that my contract specifically stated the exact furniture that was to be moved and the price I agreed to via LeRoy. The Subcontractor insisted that I did not pay for enough space even though LeRoy and I went over the items at length to make sure there would be enough room on the truck. I decided to call the office and explain the situation and possibly cancel the move altogether because it was more cost effective to just rent a UHAUL and do it ourselves! The lady in the office had an immediate attitude and said they would keep my $1700 deposit if I chose to cancel the move! At this point not one piece of furniture was even placed onto the truck. We were forced to let them take a few pieces of furniture. About a quarter of the items I had contracted with LeRoy for over $4,000! After loading the furniture again with NO divider, the Subcontractor handed ua a bill for an additional $600 because he said our items were bulky! My husband managed to talk him down to $300. How 3 dressers, a headboard and footboard are bulky, is beyond me. My contract clearly states that we would not be charged ANY additional fees unless we added items. In fact, they moved LESS items for more money. We finally received our furniture 22 days later! Before they would unload we had to pay the balance which of course was different from the invoice we were given upon the initial move. We had given a credit card at that time and charged the corresponding CC fees. At delivery time we discovered that they did not process our last credit card payment and we had to pay over $3,000 in CASH! Something is seriously shady about this company. They insisted that they would NOT process our credit card and that it had to be CASH only. What a racket! Four of the pieces of furniture they delivered were damaged. I have filed a claim and I fully intend on writing a review on how that goes. Do not use this company! You are better off hiring some high school kids and a UHAUL!!!! read more

I have never been so disappointed with a service company in my life. When organizing my move, everything went very well. The move coordinator was friendly, knowledgeable, polite, sympathetic. I bird with eager anticipation. When I told my son the quote, he suggested I look for another quote. I humored him. The next company showed the same courtesy, efficiency andprofessionalism, but came in at less than 60 percent of the cost of Midland. I booked with the second company and sent the required email to Midland to cancel 36 days before the move date. A week later, I received a call trying to talk me back into using Midland's services; they works price match. If they could price match, why were they beginning by gouging? I explained that I was not going to go back and forth and that I was going with the second company. I was told the job would be canceled and I world receive my refund. Four days before the move, I received an email saying I world be contacted by quality control to review the move I thought had been canceled. Suddenly all the nice customer service and dedicated move coordinator were not available. While showman hours trying to talk to someone, I disputed the charge that thirty days after the cancelation had still not been refunded. When I did get to someone, she barely kayaked to anything I had to say and constantly talked over me, and treated me with disdain and disrespect that were frustrating and unhelpful. They talk about pretty game, but once you're hooked, they leave you in the dark and treat you like dirty. read more

never use these guys we have been waiting for almost 2 months for our stuff and now have had to result in filing with sheriff dept please do urself a favor stay far away read more

I agree with Debbi A., these guys are thieves. I got an estimate after I tried to explain how much stuff I had and what size truck it was moved in. of almost $3000. I was told that a tractor trailer rig was going to show up. And when they did show it was a small panel van. And the driver told that I had way more stuff then what they put on the bid. He called for another truck. and told me the cost was going to be $8677, I was put in a hard spot, because I needed my stuff moved that day, Which made me agree to the new price. If they would have used the figures i gave them at the start, there would never have been an issue. And would have probably found another company to move me. Felt like I was getting robbed. And when they called me to tell me when my stuff was goin to show up, I was told they weren't going to be able to get there big rig anywhere close to my house, and they would have to replace all my stuff in a small U-Haul truck and the extra cost would another $600. Even when I first called and talked with there moving agent, he told me everything would be ok, because he was checking the places on google maps. So please don't us Midland Van Lines, unless you want to get taken for a ride. and they made me pay cash for them to drop off my stuff. read more
