    Film Festival here we come
    will l.

Love the neon-lit, old school marquee. Visited here for the annual SCAD Film Festival, which brings wonderful crowds...and celebrities, to town. My only complaint is that the theater doesn't have much of a slope. And for some reason, at the screening I attended, the movie screen, which is adjustable, was at its lowest point. So 1/3 of the screen was blocked by those sitting in front of you. Two little old ladies were in the row in front of me, and pleaded with everyone approaching to not sit in front of them. And when my daughter and I sat down (I am only 5'7", and she is 5'0"), I could hear the folks behind us moaning in despair that their view was impaired. Please, people: raise the screen! I know for a fact that the projection screen, like the other set screens behind it, are adjustable. Why would you have a screening with it at it lowest possible position? Makes no sense.

What a super cute venue! As part of The Savannah Music Festival, we saw the Punch Brothers here. It looks like perhaps it used to be a movie theater. We had assigned seats but for some reason there was a ridiculously long line to get into the show. So much so that the show started a little late. The entrance is full of lights. They had a small concessions stand to the left when you walk in. It's a narrow theater and small so there isn't really a bad seat. The acoustics in the theater are amazing. The Punch Brothers were fabulous. They had a mandolin, guitar, bass, banjo and violin. Playing original music with a little commentary here and there, they played for a good two hours. If you ever get a change to see the Punch Brothers it's a real treat! And the Trustees Theater is the perfect spot.

The SCAD theatre was showing a few different Christmas movies so we decided to go check it out. I've gotta say that this was definitely a awesome experience! This is a great idea to gather up the family or your significant other and go check it out! I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed.

They did a great job hosting the film festival. Nice, clean theater. I would have given it more stars but seats are average and uncomfortable after awhile.

If you are visiting Savannah and are looking for something atmospheric and family friendly, this is for you! The first part takes you on a trolley ride that goes around town in a trolley while hearing from a tour guide. This part definitely emphasizes on the historical parts of Savannah and it's interesting to see these sorts of buildings with a bit of narration. The 2nd half had us stop at an old building and when we walked in, we got an amazing show inside. Note that photography is not allowed during the show. Although the story was more theatrical-oriented than historical and sometimes gave a chuckle, the actors have a phenomenal performance, especially the priest narrator. Don't want to get in too much spoilers but it's entertaining to say the least. Overall, loved the unique experience of Savannah!

Both were VERY nice and the the trolly was completely in sync with the guide (reaching the destination at just the right time in the story. The Underground performance was the most unique and exciting experience we have ever had for the environment, narrator, immersive experience and the actors. VERY fun and exciting!

I was introduced to these guys through an improv performance at a wedding reception. How cool of them to perform at a wedding and what a novel idea for the bride and groom to arrange for an improv troupe to perform at their reception. It certainly made the dinner more lively and entertaining. The group that came to perform for us included Jayme Tinti (Artistic Director), Joanna Walchuk Aprea, Wesley Pridgen, and Cydnei Prather. Jayme was the energetic host/MC and she guided us through all of the acts. I've been to several improv shows in Atlanta so I was familiar with some of the formats. What makes improv fun is the audience interaction. All of the acts performed required input from the audience. Some of the acts actually required a member of the audience to directly participate on stage (or in our case, on the wedding dance floor). Examples included an act where someone from the audience would tell the actors to instantly "change" their story throughout the act and another act where the actors sang a song about an audience member they just met and knew only a few facts about. It was funny. There were games like one actor having to guess the other actors' personas or professions (suggested by the audience). There were stories and musicals with ideas, locations, and music types suggested by the audience. Cydnei served as both an actor and a live musician. I was impressed with her musical improvisation on the keyboard. On a whim, she was able to churn out music that matched the mood of the act whether it was dramatic, lighthearted, or something else. Props to her. Overall, I thought the entire group did a fine job. They were wacky, enthusiastic, and quick to think on their feet (something I'm terrible at). Thanks for the performance!
