"Classic" is one way to put it and if you're all about "newness" then skip it, but stepping into this theater is a bit of a trip back to the early 1990s and even some of the smell lingers. Paper tickets, too, which are fun but rare these days. The concession area is modest and they aren't pushing $15 popcorn and $10 soda on you the whole time, either. There is LOTS of room outside the auditoriums and inside them is clean and in good repair. The bathrooms could use a thorough cleaning but they aren't smelly or gross. Overall, this place is a nice step back in time and a nice alternative, especially for older movie fans. read more

Yes, it's a little older, yes, it needs some updating with the seating and even the projection media system, but yes as well it's a solid place to go see a movie. As with most AMCs, this place needs updating across the board, but as far as comfort and quality of picture is concerned - it checks those boxes easily. What's nice about this place is that it has a parking lot all to its own, it's easy getting in and out, and then it's a quick trip home due to it's centralized location in the area - at least to where I was staying. I'll be back and won't hesitate to watch another big-time movie there. read more

While I agree with the other reviews that it's in need of an upgrade (it is and looks old except for the Big D theater room), my experience at this theatre has always been positive. I like that it's not busy when I'm there, and the employees are nice from what i can tell. I've been watching movies here exclusively, which says something for sure! I suppose my only real complaint is that they don't do the big movie-release fun stuff, like the special popcorn for the Captain America movie or the stuff for the Wicked Movie. The theater is probably forgotten about but it still runs very well, so I won't take points for that. read more

So we prefer this to the Savannah 10 only because the manager and staff are amazing and it does have one theater with better seats. If a movie is playing in Big D we head here even though it's a bit further from home. As a stubs member we don't pay extra for big d so the comfort level is def an upgrade from the regular theaters. Wish AMC would upgrade these theaters like they have so many other places. read more

I came here because it was closest to where I was and had the movie time I was looking for. I came to the matinee of Birds of Prey in the BigD theater. The ticket was a little over $9. The line was extremely slow. There really weren't a lot of people at the theater. I would hate to see it when it's busy. The theater was nice and very big. Worst movie theater chain in savannah area! The theater smells like throw up and stale sweat. The bathroom fixtures are not cleaned well, pee (some fecal) on floor, counters are soaked with water and soap, lobby....concession stands look dirty and disorganized. I've never seen stands like this before and my standards aren't real high honestly. Staff would walk by and not even look at you as you wondered the halls trying to figure out layout. Stubs A list is a ripoff! I've canceled my membership 3 times and everytime I find out I'm still a member. My Stubs A list app even tells me I'm no longer a member and then somehow I'm paying again and support claims they can't find a record of cancelation. Pretty decent movie theater. There wasn't many people in the movie we were watching. The staff was really nice a patient with me. I had like three gift cards that needed to be put in by hand and the lady at the front was super nice and did them all without any complaint. When we got in the movie theater there was a staff member sweeping and cleaning up still because we were early. He was really nice and let us come in and sit. Another staff member came in and they both started talking to us and said they hoped we enjoyed the movie. Overall had a really great experience here. They offer military discount which was actually a pretty decent discount for an evening show. I would definitely come to this theater again. It's kind of out of the way, but the way I was treated definitely makes it worth it. read more

You know that moment when a movie is finally out, but the "good" theatre in town has already sold out almost all its seats for the evening, and you don't want to sit in the first three rows? And you didn't buy your tickets ahead of time because you hadn't made up your mind yet. Well, that describes me perfectly. Pooler with reclining seats is definitely my favorite theatre in the area, but I don't have a problem going to a theatre that has plenty of seats especially when I want to watch the movie like right now! You can order your tickets on Fandango, which I have been doing lately. There's no real need to do that though, unless you tend to run late, or just want to be sure you are getting in to the movie, for all the worry warts out there. Probably one of the most run down AMC theaters to date. Seriously for the prices you pay here I'm astonished as to how this theatre has let itself go. If we did not have a gift card specifically for AMC i would have left the second I stepped foot inside. Now I get sometimes businesses cut cost by cutting hours, but in this case it negatively affected the customers. It led to not one window for buying tickets being open. Instead there was just a long line inside leading to the concessions for everybody to buy their tickets as well as verify for all those who bought their tickets in advance. Which being that we had pre bought our tickets was annoying. The concessions were extremely overpriced and offered bare minimum. The bathrooms could have used a deep cleaning, which typically is never an issue at any other AMC theatre. The viewing of the movie too was not the greatest, we paid $55 for a family of 5. The lighting of the film during darker scenes was pretty poor. All in all we got to have a family day and see a movie we've all wanted to see but being that so many nicer movie theaters exist this is one we'll never come back to. read more

Way less comfortable than seats in Pooler that actually have individual arm rests for.each sea and that are larger and recline. What a walk down memory lane this evening bringing my adult children, at their request, to see the remake of The Lion King! I probably brought them to this very cinema to see the animated version in the '90's. Plenty of adult humor that kept moms and dads chuckling, great sound effects and music accentuated by the surround sound, wonderful casting - James Earl Jones did not disappoint! The audience applause at the end spoke volumes regarding audience approval. Watching the 3D version was the frosting on the cake! While I could go on about the positives of the movie, my 1 star is a reflection of the poor management as it reflects in the facility, and its employees. This theater, once a shining star on the Savannah movie cinema scene, is now fading dimly. These were the negatives we experienced tonight at AMC: *filthy concession area. Popcorn, napkins and trash on the floor and counter, as well as, unkept, dirty drink dispensers and area around it. *we bought our tickets at the concession stand, as is the case these days. Usually, there's someone to take your ticket when you enter the corridor leading to each theater. No one was taking tickets, and I wondered how many people just skip concessions and go straight to theater - without paying. *Womens bathroom was a filthy mess. Toilet paper on the floor, overflowing trash can and each stall needing attention. The 3 sink counter was completely wet. Not a dry spot on it. A leak perhaps? The paper towel dispenser was empty and needed refilling. *My husband relayed that the mens bathroom was in need of a good cleaning. "In fact", he said "it smelled like a kennel and urine was on the floor." My husband is NOT a neat freak. *unfortunately, all of these issues reflect in the lackadaisical attitude of the employees as set forth from the management. Well guess what AMC has done away with that silly old ticket booth idea and instead you now have to buy your tickets in the same line that you buy your concessions. Yeah that's right you get have your employees do two jobs for the price of one and oh never mind if you're not buying popcorn or any snacks because you'll be waiting in too so it doesn't matter!! This movie theater is behind the Savannah mall, aka no mans land. Every time I've come it's DEAD, which is not a complaint at all. It's easy parking and no lines so that's all a bonus to me. The theaters are cleaned after each showing and the staff is so nice and allowed me and friends to sit before the theater was finished being cleaned. This is a location I will continue to come to based on the ease and comfort. The theater isn't at all brand new but I wouldn't say it's outdated by any means. read more

I'm giving this location a two star review and feel that I'm being pretty generous with this. I agree with other reviewers that the facility is in dire need of some TLC. 1. Staff: unhelpful with subpar customer service. I purchased a large popcorn and asked for a box- as any movie goer knows you get a box because the butter will never get to bottom of the popcorn in the bag. Plus it allows each person to add their own level of butter and syrup. Well he informs me they don't have any boxes and hands my a white less than 1/4 inch deep box- saying would this work? I looked at very perplexed and said no, I can put the popcorn in that. I then asked for another popcorn bag- and was told he would have to charge me for another popcorn if he gave me a bag-- seriously??? Thy were out of boxes and had the nerve to try and charge me-- not cool on any level. 2. Concession are was filthy- like it hadn't been cleaned all day, and we were at a 7:10 showing. It's was crowded so for the life of me couldn't figure why they would have a dirty concession stand like that. I refused to use the bathroom-- so not comment there but I trusted the other reviewers about their experience. 3. I am a stubs member and found it very odd that there was nobody to scan my ticket. The theatre is pretty dated and run down looking inside. Definitely not the best place to go for a movie. The restrooms were pretty filthy. We decided to come here because it was the only theatre with seating available for the movie we wanted to see. I can definitely see why. I only live about 4 miles and hadn't gone to a Cinema since we moved here. This was not the place to go. We arrived early and so after a bathroom break, the restrooms were not very cleaned, we sat on the sofa waiting for our movie door to open. A drop of water fell and hit us on the head, then another. There was a puddle on the other end of the bench. Next to us were 2 male employees talking about their futures, the value of marriage and having kids. As we got up and moved, I asked them if they were going to clean up the puddle. They stopped talking momentarily and then went back to their philosphical discussion. I went to the rest room, got some paper towels, came back and wiped down the seat. I told them I was doing their job for them because it needed to be done. Their attitude like the concession stand was just awful. Will not be returning. Maybe I'll go to Pooler next time. read more

It's been here for over 15 years with minimal renovations if any! But on a good note and surprisingly the theater doesn't stink or smell funny. Our movie was supposed to start at 6:30........at 6:45 when the movie nor the previews had started, pissed customers went to inquire about the hold up. The employee tearing the tickets and directing people to their respective movies said "oh I'll go start in a minute". WOW! Got to the theater as soon as it opened. The Big D auditorium was dirty and smelled odd. Popcorn was still on the ground and under seats from the prior night. Savannah has only two theaters left and this one is in dire need of a Corporate Visit. If I could give them zero stars, I would. I am a Stubb's member so it is 5 dollar Tuesdays. For 3 tickets and a bucket refill we were being charged $32.00. when we inquired as to why, we were told the show was in the big D theater so it cost more. When asked what it was that it cost more, was told it is a bigger theater. So they are charging more just for a larger seating area? There is an arcade for some fun while you wait for tour movie. Lobby is pretty big so you will not fell crowded like other theaters. Service is great. You can purchase the tickets and food inside. Parking and theater is across the mall so you it is a great place for a day of shopping and a night to relax and catch movie. read more

Was told this place has the biggest indoor movie screen I've ever seen and they was right. But I have issues with other things inside of the theater like how the bathroom smelled like someone pissed all over the walls. I even seen cobwebs on the ceiling. I had to hold my breath the whole time. I also didnt like how the food staff doesn't keep hot dogs in heavy rotation even though they had four people behind the counter. Small, older theater but they have friendly employees welcoming you in and assisting you at the concession stand. I went to a matinee and paid around $9 which I thought was a bit much, especially for a movie that's been out for some weeks. A small popcorn and drink came to around $11. Popcorn was fresh...so that was a plus. After the advertisements, we just sat there....the movie never started and someone had to get one of the employees to start the film. Yeah, that's old school!! The theaters themselves are old, the seats are tearing...there are obvious signs of its age. I didn't get a chance to see the other, more glamorous theater but I heard it's fantastic. Would have been a perfect experience here, if I didn't find myself in the middle of a tantrum that one of the young employees decided throw. Thankfully, the young man handling concessions and ticketing was apologetic and fast. If this theater weren't so distant, I'd be here more often. I'll definitely give it another spin if I had to. Place is definitely a bit more rundown than Pooler or Royal but it's better than its counter part (AMC 10) the theaters were more taken care of and the staff a bit more friendly. Big-D (Digital Projection) is offered at this theater if you want to pay an extra 3.00 surcharge for your 3D glasses. I guess I'm just cheap, but they can keep their glasses. I opted to watch Captain America with just my two little eyes. The fact that I didn't go for the Big-D shifted my movie experience to one of their smaller theaters. I have to say I was pleased with the movie experience. We watched Captain America kick butt on a normal movie screen. It was still good. They have good seats even in the small theaters. The prices vary here. Sunday through Thursday an adult can get a ticket for $10. Friday and Saturday they bump that price up to $10.25. If you want to see your movie in 3D it will cost you an extra $3. The bathrooms were clean and the people working here were nice. read more

For it to be a big release weekend, they only had three people working the concession counter, and you also have to purchase tickets at the counter as well. Good thing I purchased mine online. Seriously disappointed with this theater. Upon walking in, none of the ticket counters were open. Slightly confused, we had to go to concession stand to buy our tickets. Paid over $11 for each ticket which would be standard but is unreasonable in contrast the usual quality of AMC theaters. Both bathrooms were disgusting and dirty, there was poop on the wall by the urinal and wet toilet paper all over the floor. Floor was also sticky. The cheese sauce for the nachos (that were NOT nachos) was just a container of cheese dipping sauce that was sealed like McDonalds dips. Overall just really not happy. Also, no reclining chairs. Just a warning. Parking lot had tons of empty cups standing around. 0/10, will not go again (and this has better reviews than the other AMC in Savannah!). read more
